Run by Iowa educators, #IAedchat is on Twitter the first, second, and third Sundays each month at 8:00pm CST. We have added #IAedchat LIVE to the fourth Sunday of the month at 8:00pm CST. This will take place in Google Hangout on Air. We will share the invitation and link to #IAedchat LIVE each month.
This new school year will be here before we know it; I am really excited to get it started on a great note! Carrie Elsinger: Elementary School Counselor #IAedChat
Hi everyone! Meghan Blakey, elementary counselor from Klein, TX here! Excited to discuss his topic since I just returned from our leadership team retreat! #IAedChat#buildingrelationships
Good evening, #IAedChat. Dan Butler, principal of @EpworthElem in Western Dubuque Schools. Very excited to engage with you all this evening and moderate the conversation. Let's do this thing! #IAedChat
A1: It’s a swirl for me of finishing teaching a summer course, getting ready for fall classes, preparing to meet a new group of freshmen, and trying to squeeze in a little more family time. #iaedchat
A1: As I prepare for the new school year, I have been thinking a lot about how to best support the districts that I am assigned and how to make new connections with new schools and leaders.
A1 I’m thinking about organizing and working on building a new mission, vision and core values for our building and making sure to include students, parents, staff and the community #iaedchat
A1: How we will use this mindset to build our culture every day. Also, being mindful of the actions and words I use so that what I do and say aligns with creating the school we need to be for all of our students. #IAedChat
A1: I’m participating in a few district beginning of year kick-offs and new teacher inservices. I’m thinking about the content and wanting to make sure the presentations are relevant and engaging! #IAedChat
A1. For us, teachers return Wednesday and students return in one week. Over this next week, we hope to engage in meaningful professional development and tie up loose ends as we prepare for students arrival. To answer, lots of things going through my mind..... #iaedchat
Speaking as a teacher educator, thanks SO MUCH for your willingness to do this! We literally could not do it without you.
Personally, I feel like I always grew a ton by mentoring a student teacher too. It’s great PD! #iaedchat
A1: I’m thinking about how to turn theory and rhetoric into action. So many things sound good and people mean well, but how do we transform those ideals into positive effects for students #IAedChat
A1: I’m participating in a few beginning of year kick-offs and new teacher inservices. I’m thinking about the content and wanting to make sure the presentations are interesting and engaging! #IAedChat
A1: Lots to do to prepare for the school year. Schedules to create and other logistical items. Making plans for the year to function as effectively as possible. Getting my mind and body ready to roll for year as well. #iaedchat
A1: lots of changes at our school- new admin. , new schedule, etc. I’m also changing my math teaching and I have a new reading element to put in. Also trying to incorporate mindfulness more.#iaedchat
A1: Our building is developing some strategies aimed at improving collaboration within grade level teams. I'm focused on what role I can take to support that effort at a building level. #IAedChat#DrakeEDL
A1 So excited to get back to serving our students and staff everyday. Watching the miracles our team produces daily is the best part of the job! #IAedChat
I have a couple of PD sessions I’m planning and preparing for the next few weeks. I’m also co-facilitating our New Faculty Seminar at @dordtcollege this year. It’s definitely on my mind as well! #iaedchat
A1: I’m trying to enjoy some of my last few days of break by planning some fun events that I don’t always find time to do when we go back to work...I love the school year and would go year round if I could, work/fun more balanced during the year so focused on fun now! #IAedChat
Q2: We often talk about what we are going to start doing to increase impact with students. What are you going to STOP doing this year to increase your impact? #IAedChat
A2: Stop giving energy to negative people or situations that are not productive. It is so easy to get sucked into this mindset and it is time to put a stop to it. Focus on the best people and productive situations. #IAedChat
This makes me think of Harry Wong's classic The First Days of School. It's getting a little dated, but I think it still holds up. Focus on the students, emphasize relationships, and prioritize procedures! #iaedchat
You can't build solid relationships on Day 1, but you can make them more difficult to construct on Day 1 That first day or two is so important to thse next 170 days #IAedChat
#IAedChat A2 I will stop being so worried about what other teachers think about what I do in my room. If we want to dance and laugh... we dance and laugh
Q2: We often talk about what we are going to start doing to increase impact with students. What are you going to STOP doing this year to increase your impact? #IAedChat
A2: stop putting limits on students...let them dream big by not setting limits or questioning if they are able to do something, let them try! #IAedChat
A2 I’m going to stop using my time at the end of the day to button things up for tomorrow and focus more energy on students for the first 20 minutes school is out #iaedchat
A2. I pledge to to not accept the status quo: whether it is innovation, student progress, or sustained success. We can always do better for kids. #IAedChat
This makes me think of Harry Wong's classic The First Days of School. It's getting a little dated, but I think it still holds up. Focus on the students, emphasize relationships, and prioritize procedures! #iaedchat
Q2: We often talk about what we are going to start doing to increase impact with students. What are you going to STOP doing this year to increase your impact? #IAedChat
A2: Stop trying to do it all. I also need to stop talking so loud. I started working on this last year and quieter teacher, quieter students. #IAedchat
A2: Stop giving energy to negative people or situations that are not productive. It is so easy to get sucked into this mindset and it is time to put a stop to it. Focus on the best people and productive situations. #IAedChat
A2: We're going to stop being about the status quo and what we've always done. We're going to get comfortable with being a little uncomfortable so that we can maximize our impact for every kid. #IAedChat
A2: I’m going to stop passing up opportunities to talk with Parents about the great things their S’s are doing! I often think I should call but don’t follow through- I’m going to stop not following through! #IAedChat
A2: I want to stop worrying about the naysayers. I want to stop being so hard on myself. I want to stop worrying that academic time is wasted when I need to teach SEL. #iaedchat
A2 I am going to STOP talking as much...goal is to be the focal point less than 1/3 of class time Need to give Ss their platform to collaborate and communicate #IAedChat
A2: I'm going to stop living such an unbalanced life by working on balancing my time and energy to be more effective for my family at school and my family at home. I've had a great start this month! #IAedChat
A1: Digging into how best to support MS/HS striving readers. Inclusive classrooms, teaching writing, and differentiation are at the top of my list. #IAedChat
A2: I’m going to stop passing up opportunities to talk with Parents about the great things their S’s are doing! I often think I should call but don’t follow through- I’m going to stop not following through! #IAedChat
A2.2: I am going to STOP excuses...for myself and our staff. Not going to allow my focus to be taken off of being in classrooms coaching and working with teachers. That has to come first. #IAedChat
A2: For me, it's to stop keeping a rigid instructional plan. This past year, there were opportunities I missed believing the Ss were best served being pushed through instead of adapting to where they were. #IAedChat#leadership
A2: I’m going to STOP worrying about what others think. If I know it is good for students, that is all that matters. Eat lunch in the cafeteria, join the kickball game, and have fun with students. #IAedChat
A2: I’m going to try to avoid spreading myself a mile wide and an inch deep to a much more deeper version of myself in service to those I lead. Great question!#IAedChat
#IAedChat A3 the new and fresh start that I get as the students. I like to approach each year as everyone having a clean slate. Actually each day is a clean slate but ....
A3: The general excitement that comes with a new school year. For so many students, school is the best place they have..a comfort zone. The Ss really want to get back at it, and so am I! #IAedChat
A3: I think I'm most excited about not having any new courses to prep for this year. While there's always revision, I'll have more time to focus on relationships with my students. Which is ALWAYS a goal, but the tyranny of the urgent sometimes gets in the way... #iaedchat
A3: Seeing Ss enter our campus with the anticipation of a successful learning year. Ss believing in a new beginning and that they can accomplish their goals! #iaedchat
A2: I’m going to stop passing up opportunities to talk with Parents about the great things their S’s are doing! I often think I should call but don’t follow through- I’m going to stop not following through! #IAedChat
A3 What excites me most about a new school year is the opportunity to learn something new along side my students If I am not learning then I am not facilitating student discovery well enough! #IAedChat
A3: new relationships excite me the most, I’ve met so many great educators since I moved to this area two years ago, I love that I get to continue with the same districts I worked w last year, reconnecting with students from last year, have some new team members @gwaea#IAedChat
A3: I love the excitement a new year brings…. From my own children to staff in my districts, as well as colleagues. Excitement is so contagious! #IAedChat
A3: I’m most excited about telling S’s about ALL the greatness that they already possess!!! I can’t wait to interact positively with kids and be someone who they can count on to be there for them and help them have an amazing year #IAedChat
A3: Anyone who works in a school has a not only tremendous power to influence a child but has been given a tremendous gift. Kids get one shot at this year, we all have a part to play in making it great. #IAedChat
A3: I am excited for opportunity. That response doesn't typically vary from year to year, but it seems to present itself in the most unpredictable ways as long as I'm looking through that lens. (Rather than challenges, barriers, etc) #IAedChat
A3: Meeting the incoming freshman and showing them how amazing our staff is, and inspiring them to be what/whoever they want with all the support they need! #weareallstars#IAedChat
A3: I'm excited to connect with 60-some college freshmen over the next few weeks and begin the discernment process of whether or not they will join us as professional educators. It's a privilege and a blessing! #iaedchat
Agreed, Mande! I have a hard time falling asleep the night before the first day of school. It's always exciting to get back to the kids and colleagues. #IAedChat
A3: I’m excited for my third year as a counselor. I’m becoming more aware of what I value and finding my voice to advocate for the ones who need it most. #IAedChat
#IAedChat A4 so much learning this summer. I attended ISTE for the first time and can't wait to implement so many things... also read 5 books... I will be ditching homework
A4: One of my reads was “Big Magic” by @GilbertLiz. Her section on fear is something that goes well with growth mindset and something I need to reread several times! Here is part of it! https://t.co/Hp6kTGGFKU#IAedChat
A4: I re-read The Non-Designers' Design Book this summer as part of a course I was teaching. I'm planning to incorporate some of these design principles into my Middle School C & I course--teaching them to think about good visual design as part of the teaching process. #iaedchat
A4 I have read several books his summer but “Future Driven” by @DavidGeurin gave me some great ideas and motivation for working with out staff, students, parents and community to be future driven in all that we do #iaedchat
A4: more opportunities for S’s to connect with other peers beyond their classroom and grade level. Increased time to engage in academic and social conversations to build connections with one another #IAedChat
A4: With this being my second year in my position--I have had time to reflect on the first year over the summer. I realize that you cannot overestimate the power of relationships at any level and I hope to continue to build new relationships/grow the ones I have made. #IAedChat
A4: I have learned of the importance of self care. It is critical to take care of ourselves from a nutritional standpoint, a social/emotional standpoint, etc. When I'm my best, I can be the best for others. #IAedChat
A4: I attended LETRS coursework this summer & I am excited to work w/teachers to enact high impact literacy instruction. We're on the journey toward becoming a High Reliability School and deepening our understanding of @MarzanoResearch New Art and Science of Teaching #IAedChat
A4 as @casas_jimmy would say, the importance of carrying the banner for yourself, your tribe, your students, your building, and your district can be an authentic way to show what is at your core! #iaedchat
A4: Picked up a few strategies from a couple of good reads. One thing I will do in particular is spend a few days early on observing a school day from the vantage point of various students. #IAedChat
A4.1: the importance of clear communication and always assuming positive intent. We're all in this profession together to help kids and may need a reminder from time to time! #IAedChat
A4: I am reading the book On Christian Teaching: Practicing Faith in the Classroom right now. More germane to those teaching in faith-based schools, perhaps, but a great read for any teacher who is a believer. Lots to chew on... #iaedchat
A4: while teaching summer school I’ve been able to get to know some of the paraprofessionals working at a district I work w during the year..so continuing to touch base with them&talk about personal lives as well, it’s all about relationships, I swear I need that tattoo #IAedChat
A4 as @casas_jimmy would say, the importance of carrying the banner for yourself, your tribe, your students, your building, and your district can be an authentic way to show what is at your core! #iaedchat
A4 - Transforming learning spaces, implementing more of the 4Cs, using @canva for graphic design, using @Flipgrid, and so much more! I learned a ton I can't wait to implement! #IAedChat
Book study on Mathematical Mindsets by Jo Boaler- focused on growth mindset and concepts and less on timed testing, homework, and procedures- #iaedchat
A4.2: it is equally important to keep in mind the most challenging student may need your attention more than you think! When a S becomes challenging, think of the person before the behavior! #IAedChat
I'm right there with you. As much as I love our building secretary and our custodial staff, the four of us need some student energy back in the place! Ha! #IAedChat
A4: Can't wait to apply my learning from grad school: Leadership, C&I, Adaptive Schools, Art of Coaching Teams, Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain, Mindframes.... My priority is doing my part to make our school welcoming and mind-changing! #IAEdChat
A4: I have learned of the importance of self care. It is critical to take care of ourselves from a nutritional standpoint, a social/emotional standpoint, etc. When I'm my best, I can be the best for others. #IAedChat
A4. I've learned a ton from my 1 year old this summer. My nature is to jump in and help but let him/others learn and provide support when needed #iaedchat
A4: Applying all the learning from summer reading, lots of @dbc_inc books, When by @DanielPink will guide my work with staff this year. Also @lpijanowski, ADL book is so good! #iaedchat
A4: I learned so much from @JoPrusha this summer (and before) that I'll carry with me forever. Planting seeds has been something I will use throughout the year. I'm excited to keep learning at @GrantWoodAEA tomorrow and @CentralRivers Tuesday. #IAedChat
A4: I love the “surprise and delight” concept from @BuddyBerry. It is those moments and surprises that help me find joy in the little things. I want to sprinkle “surprise and delights” throughout the school year to spread this joy to staff and students. #IAedChat
Book study on Mathematical Mindsets by Jo Boaler- focused on growth mindset and concepts and less on timed testing, homework, and procedures- #iaedchat
A5: Hello everyone, hopping in a little late to #iaedchat tonight. Worries--lots of construction going in in a renovation project. Hoping for lots of flexibility this year.
A5: Having a student teacher for the first time; however I am really excited to share about my classroom. I have already asked more experienced teachers for advice and help. #IAedChat
A5 I worry about maintaining the balance I’ve found this summer. I plan to commit to be fully present: whether at school, home, or with friends #IAedChat
A5: Sort of a combination of fear and excitement for me: I'm going to be co-facilitating our New Faculty Seminar this year. I have a fantastic colleague to work with, and by all evidence, some great (new) colleagues too. But we will see how things unroll as we go... :-) #iaedchat
A5: I am working with 4 new school districts this year, so there is always a fear that my support isn't what they are looking for. More than that I think it's really easy to second guess ourselves. I plan to keep my focus on the students and what is best for them. #IAedChat
A5: LOTS of new staff coming on board so sorry about cohesion/how everyone will work together. Overcoming this by doing lots of teambuilding before school starts and also celebrating all the things going right when we meet for grade level PLCs #IAedChat
A5 Biggest worry is the change my building has gone through over the summer and how that will affect teacher/student relationships Will try to overcome that by stepping in and filling in the gap #IAedChat
#IAedchat
Hi! I'm a bit late to this party, but I thought I'd join anyway. I'm a current high school student (hope I'm allowed in this chat), and I'm from Iowa.
#IAedChat A5 worried about the changes and how the district will handle them all. We orrued our staff will not come together and will stay divided. Worried I'll spent another year hiding in my room avoiding adults. Our kids deserve better
A5: I'm hoping to be a stabilizing force as our teachers face some new systems, professional learning which may challenge their practice, and new administration. Personally, I am nervous about balancing grad school w/ 3 roles in our district (1 is new). #IAEdChat
A5: Worries are moving into this role in a much larger building/district. Ways to overcome are ask plenty of questions and trust in the people that I work with. #IAedChat
I am always a little fearful of behavior. I am going to start with a positive attitude and build relationships with Ss to help start out the year on the right note. #iaedchat
A5. I worry about my sanity being a principal and working on a doctorate. Really though, I worry about finding a balance between work, school, and life. #iaedchat
A5: I worry about not being enough for the people I serve. I work through this by trying to bring my best each day and being ok with that. It is a constant battle. #IAedChat
A5:Engaging and interactive presentations are a must and something I worry about. I need to give myself adequate time to prepare something I’d like to sit through :) #IAedChat
A5: Are we "Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic" or actually committed to being a better than we were the day before? I know that I need to keep first things first and focus on the promise to our students. Have the tough conversations as often as needed to grow. #IAedChat
A5: I’m worried that there will be Ss that I just don’t reach. I’ll try to overcome this by personalizing the learning in my class and by getting to know my Ss as people rather than simply as Ss. #IAedChat
A5 - I'm always worried about not being able to help all teachers. I plan to keep data on my coaching and who I'm spending time with to try and serve all teachers. #IAedChat
A5: I fear that the energy and enthusiasm we have as a staff may not be enough to meet the goals we want without some guided focus for our collective efforts. We have the will, I hope we have the skill. #IAedChat#Leadership
A5b I’ve got to model and provide opportunities to for our students and staff to lead in this area and we have to make it a part of our daily culture #iaedchat
A5: one of my fears is that I won’t have enough time for all of the amazing work the districts I serve want to do! #IAedChat there’s never enough time!
A5. Change. Overcoming the change by learning from others, asking questions, and trying to incorporate what I've learned along the way as well as possible #iaedchat
Q1 #iaedchat
Mostly just preparing for the stress. I recently got a job, and I'm working on publishing more books, and I put school behind my passion for writing, but even so, it's stressful. Time for the decline in my mental health!
As a teacher educator I resonate! I was just saying to a friend that it's been 7 years since I've been a middle school teacher now, and the longer I'm in higher ed, the more I doubt that I could just jump back into it. Keeping connected with K12 teachers helps me! #iaedchat
Oh, and I’m Mike from Salt Lake City. Just stumbled upon this chat, but I’m digging what you all are laying down! Plus, I went to second grade in Sioux City! #IAedChat
This Gif is amazing! One of my all time favorite Saved by the Bell episodes! "I'm so excited!" Bonus points to anyone who can name the band that's performing in this episode...#IAedChat
A5: one of my fears is that I won’t have enough time for all of the amazing work the districts I serve want to do! #IAedChat there’s never enough time!
A5: Worry = how can I meet all of the counseling needs of 600+ students?! Reality = I’m only one person and will do the best of my ability. I will also work closely with teachers to help them transfer techniques into their classrooms. #iaedchat
A5: My fear is that I am not being innovative or creative enough for the people I serve. Nick Saban is not super flashy and he just gets it done every single year, so maybe my worry shouldn't be one? #IAedChat
A5.2: encouragement and helping with solutions instead of focusing on our challenges I think will be a key to help move our team towards the results we want. #IAedChat#leadership
A5: Making sure I’m focused on what is essential. This can be done by dedicating time to only a few priorities instead of many at once. Kinda like buttering a slice of bread instead of the whole loaf. #IAedChat
#IAedChat A5 worried about the changes and how the district will handle them all. We orrued our staff will not come together and will stay divided. Worried I'll spent another year hiding in my room avoiding adults. Our kids deserve better
A6: As we will be one to one with iPads, I plan to use Apple Classroom and Schoolworks to have my students complete different tasks as well as to differentiate. #IAedChat
A5: I’m being positive that this year will be a great new start. Our kids deserve it and our staff needs it. I plan on doing it by following my heart/ gut and leaning on my friends. Positivity will win! #iaedchat
A6: Next year, I will be using Time Track a lot more closely to record my movements to ensure that I can move my Ts and school forward and maximize my minutes each and every day. #IAedChat
A6: I continue to revamp my use of Awesome Tables. Workflows and simplifying data collection options for my colleagues and districts..man, the power of #GoogleForms#nothingfancy#iaedchat
A6: I need to read more books rather than only making time for articles during the year. I love looking through the hashtag #booksnaps and have been looking at them to get ideas of what to read in order to grow professionally and personally. #IAedChat
Q2 #iaedchat
As a student, this question doesn't really apply to me, so I'm just going to answer with what I hope my teachers do.
I'd really appreciate it if teachers tried to understand that not everyone strives to do well in school, to get good grades, or to get into college
Q2: We often talk about what we are going to start doing to increase impact with students. What are you going to STOP doing this year to increase your impact? #IAedChat
#iaedchat Q2 continued
because we all have different goals. I feel like a lot of teachers are more concerned about helping students pass tests and get grades, but there are kids who don't care about that as much.
I think that a lot of teachers think the best option for every
#iaedchat Q2 continued
student is to go to college, but some of us don't want that, and that should be okay. We shouldn't be told we can't be successful without a diploma or degree.
A6: I hope to learn more about PowerSchool and its capabilities in order to help and support districts who are looking to use it in a Standards Based System. #IAedChat
A6 My dist uses #IQWST for our science resource The new interactive digital edition has a ton of new features to allow a better use of formative assessments Can't wait to get into that! #IAedChat
A6: Honestly, I'm going old-school with non-digital tech this year. Going to do more quick-writes with pencil and paper in Intro to Ed this fall... #iaedchat
A6: One of my favorite tools is @SmartMusic for assessments. I van have one group of kids working on assignments with me while another is working on iPads. It's been a great tool for my class! #IAedChat#musedchat
A6 I’m going to try and use more of a flipped classroom approach with staff meetings as well as use video to send out news letters to parents #iaedchat
A6: I think @Seesaw and @instagram have great social media and home to school connection ability. Engage parents with the technologies they have at the ready. With staff, using @Flipgrid as a model and helping them get comfortable where they're at. #IAedChat
A6: Looking forward to continuing to build our video library at #eesbobcats. Using video for newsletters, promotional items, and so forth. We are just scratching the surface with this. #IAedChat
#iaedchat Q3
SCHOOL SUPPLIES!!!!
I love having an excuse to buy more pens and paper. Sincerely, an office supply nerd who already owns thousands of pens.
A6 as an IC I want to help T’s utilize the skills feature in @Seesaw to align with their proficiency scales! Then get S’s comfortable recognizing where they are in their learning by having those direct check-ins with T’s while looking at their artifacts! #iaedchat
A6: Not a new tool, but I've been using Google Sheets differently. Using it in ways I never thought of before to work smarter instead of harder. #IAedChat
A6: our district is beginning to use Schoology so I’ll be interested to see how I could drop counseling/SEL resources into T’s classes for their S’s to use #IAedChat
PowerSchool has been a tool I've been learning a lot about this summer, too. The PowerSchool Team at @GrantWoodAEA has been so supportive and helpful! I appreciate Erin's calm, patient tone so much! #IAedChat
I love this. The course I taught this summer was E-Learning Design (part of the EdTech track in the M.Ed. program at @DordtEDUC.) I have several students working on flipped classroom projects. :-) #iaedchat
https://t.co/lm77hq9SDT I feel like this every summer since I left the classroom...I still buy fun supplies for my bag and walk through all the back to school aisles! Love them! #iaedchat
A6: More communications with the use of https://t.co/GY6Q6Sn0W7. Also intrigued by Voxer and Flipgrid but not entirely sure about how to use either productively. #IAedChat
a7: Planning for and with my student teacher, helping with registration, and finishing up some professional reading to help me improve my own skills. #IAedChat
A7: We will be working to get our SIP solidified and ready to go and organizing a house structure for community building! Also taking care of the checklist items to prepare for open house and welcoming our kids back! #iaedchat
A7: Focus on the "Big Rocks"- finalize and communicate: schedules, duties, welcome back letters, class lists, etc. Take time to learn, read, connect, and care for myself as well. Get fired up! #IAedChat
A7: Team building later this week to plan and prep for this year and then my family is moving! We need to get settled before the year starts! #IAedChat
A7: I am going to begin reaching out to my new districts, support my districts at staff days this August and be as valuable of a resource to all of them and my colleagues as I can. #IAedChat
A7 Map out my first unit, add formative assessment opportunities & continue to wrap my head around new found best practices Prepare your pedagogy in summer so fall can be about relationship building #IAedChat
A7: wrap up my online Pd courses, help brighten up the school with positive bulletin boards & messages and start making contact with families new to our campus #IAedChat
A7: I need to make sure that I have all of the organizational items squared away. Rosters, schedules, and other logistics. I also need to make sure that my mind and body are ready for the intensity of the school year. Bring it on! #IAedChat
A7: I’m going to be spending three days this week working with colleagues to organize a writing course to offer this year @JodieEidahl@ChrisGWAEA@LynnTiemann and Sara! #IAedChat
#iaedchat Q5
I've learned to focus more on what I want than on what my parents or the school wants. I have a lot of my own interests that I would rather pursue, and focusing on those instead of on doing homework or getting good grades has made me a happier person, and has...
#iaedchat Q5 continued
...helped me learn more than I would have otherwise.
Side note: yes, I know I'm saying this in a chat full of teachers. You may now thrash me to death for skipping class too much. ;)
A7: I have many technology trainings, but I also will use that time to change up my classroom library so students are able to find what they are looking for easier and making it more comfortable. #iaedchat
A7: I have my to-do list of scheduling a few last performance events for the groups to play, discussions with colleagues on team-teaching, and finally getting the equipment ready for day 1 with kids. Finally, do a better job scheduling family time during the year #IAedChat
A7: organizing all my math things for guided math. Planning new mindfulness lessons. Waiting on grant for calming corner stuff or if denied, need to go shopping for what I need. Also planning girl getaway with my teacher friends!#iaedchat
Awesome to be able@to be back with my #iaedchat friends...ready to be able to make this a regular Sunday night routine again! Routines really are my friend! Until next week pals! Thanks @danpbutler@townsleyaj@DuffysClassroom
Thanks to tonight's participants and my partners in moderating @danpbutler and @duffysclassroom!

#iaedchat Q5
So many I can't scratch the surface in a single tweet.
I believe very strongly in self-directed education, and I think conventional schooling and the education system are deeply flawed. They put too much pressure on both students and teachers.
I try to confront...

For the win with these GIFS! I may or may not have just purchased a Saved by the Bell T-shirt for our 90's themed town parade on Saturday...@CarrieElsinger#IAedChat
A7: In the process of finalizing my master schedule, prepping for Day 1 to set a good tone for the year, looking at/analyzing data, looking at strengths/areas of concern from last year to narrow my focus and establish a few key points of emphasis. #IAedChat
