Mr. “Tiger” Lyne, my HS geography teacher. His passion for the subject inspired me to do honors geog in college.
A1 (2): He had a full-sized copy of the OED in his classroom w/a magnifying glass so you could read the tiny entries - I was hooked!

A1) I'm a parent who works in education. I remember my 6th grade advanced-level LA teacher for being funny but taking me seriously.
A1) College professors, Dr. Arnold and Dr P. They made me feel smart and gave me confidence.
A1: Many fond memories of Mrs. Pinner, too. She put up with me for 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 6th grades.

Mr. Lyne died 3 years ago aged 101. I took over from him when he retired in 1974!
