Q1: #SDG17 challenges us to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize global partnerships for sustainable development. What types of partnerships are available to educators? #globaledchat
A1: Educators have many potential partners to tap, from parents to community organizations to non-profits to university Title VI centers. Not to mention local businesses. #globaledchat#TeachSDGs
I absolutely agree with this. Although localized action and individual responsibility is important, we as individuals in a democracy need to work to ensure we have policy frameworks in place that support all 17 #SDGs: #GlobalEdChat#TeachSDGs

Hello! Phil Wagener, Education Technology Specialist with @ksuiteach. Different take on the question, but partners that have ignited my passion for systemic change would be @elemenous, @SkypeAmy, and @sethbrady9. #Globaledchat
A1: #globaledchat@JenWilliamsEdu We underestimate the willingness of local & global communities to work w students. Senior citizen experts, parent professionals, local NGOs, other schools/classrooms, global issues network clubs, all of us here have the ability to connect.
A1: I am not really sure of the resources available for educators, but I would be interested to research more about resources that were found in my community specifically! #globaledchat
A1: I believe it is important for educators to form close partnerships with both other professionals and parents as well! They know their child best and you are able to gain more information in order to set them up fo adult success! #barber@barbersclass#globaledchat
A1 there are organizations like @EmpaticoOrg that provide the platform and resources to build & male relationships globally, also @MicrosoftEDU is another way to connect w/ the 🌎 & work together, & individuals like @zelfstudie who open a passport by global projects #GlobaledChat

Q1: #SDG17 challenges us to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize global partnerships for sustainable development. What types of partnerships are available to educators? #globaledchat
A2 Embrace the unknown of cross-cultural partnerships. It's enriching! Be ready for initial ups & downs. Build in time for critical reflection w/ your classroom students about the partnership throughout the time. That's where a lot of growth takes place #globaledchat
A2 if you never take the first step you will never take the second step, just jump in, go to @MicrosoftEDU and take the @SkypeClassroom course & connect w/ a class or an expert somewhere on the 🌏you won’t regret it, ask a colleague who does it to let you visit #GlobaledChat
#globaledchat A2 Check our the @GooglePlus community Connected Classrooms Workshop. Great place to connect with Ts and classes from all over the the US & World. Great opportunity to share ideas and learn about each other’s culture.
Partnerships can come in many forms - from fellowships for educators (including opps to travel) to beta and pilot projects that benefit students. Partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, businesses, and higher ed = learning oops for K12 Ss. #globaledchat
A2 Have to start somewhere and reach out through the community, PLN, twitter chats, and looking at @TeachSDGs#SDGs create opps to learn with the Ss and explore what is out there #globaledchat
Join professional learning communities online. Seek out training opportunities that foster connections like National Geographic Educator certification. Don't be afraid to reach out and ask questions. #GlobalEdChat
A2: I am one of these new educators, but I would say get to know people and organizations in your community. Learning and change does not just happen within the walls of the school! #globaledchat
A2: I feel as though it is so important to communicate if you're part of a partnership and work together to collaborate on the best way to run your classroom. #globaledchat
Hello @fmargret! We just finished our Global isssues advocacy posters in 5th gr and I am working on a new lesson around sea smog... Using @jackjohnson as inspiration! #globaledchat How about you?
A2:Establish shared norms and multiple touch points about long-term connections to ensure you stay connected. Wish we had done it before we lost touch with amazing teachers over time. #globaledchat

As long as government policy is of the people, by the people, and for the people, the #SDGs shall be a priority and the people will not “perish from the earth.”
Just a thought...

Q3: The 5 Targets for #SDG17 include Finance, Technology, Capacity-Building, Trade, and Systemic Issues. Have you found ways to integrate these topics into your classroom/program? How? #globaledchat
A2: just talking & being open to everyone. I met the amazing @ProfeEdTech through her #earthday chat last year. I met the wonderful @eedowd27 through the phenomenal @kmurfitt1. Listening to others & trying to work to find success only builds positive partnerships. #GlobaledChat

Q2) Resist the fear of rejection and failure. Companies are looking for educators that showcase passion, perseverance, and pride in what they do. #globaledchat
#globaledchat A2 We do “cultural conversations.” This year we have visited with a class in Argentina 🇦🇷 to discuss gender inequality and with a class in Monterrey Mexico 🇲🇽 to discuss current issues affecting both countries. Great opportunity for our students to learn/share.
Exactly! And you never know what you can do with your Ss if you never try. Give yourself time to debrief after with your class; talk about what went well, what you could do better. I do this even with my 1st graders. #globaledchat
A3 Yes, with #pbl the students are choosing their focus area, learning about the #sdgs and exploring more based on interest in these topics, has been great #globaledchat
A2: Start with a passion area. It takes time to build partnerships and find the resources that best fit your curriculum needs. If it is an area of passion, you will be more likely to stay the course. #Globaledchat
A2 - Been thinking a lot about partnerships and how to build and maintain them. You have to be intentional. To "build" and "maintain" are action-oriented rather than passive. Building an intentional community takes work, patience, & persistence. #globaledchat
I am not too sure how to integrate these topics into a classroom. As a student I would think to have multiple opportunities within the classroom at all times. #barbersclass@barbersclass#globaledchat
I have heard from a handful of teachers over the year that they have found it tricky to introduce #SDG17 to their students. It has quickly become a treasured goal for me (not to play favorites ha!)! #globaledchat Interested in responses to this Q as well!

A3: #globaledchat Technology for sure within our https://t.co/OTEZizSVlB program. NPR as a model empowers Ss. Systems thinking:Causal diagramming, iceberg models, teaching flow charts & hierarchical structures, root cause analysis -Ss can handle it & love seeking causes & effects
