A1: Ben, AP @SouthForsythMS in Forsyth County! As a leader I feel I have grown as a listener instead of a fixer. Still working on it though. #TECHtalkGA
A1: Clint Winter/Elbert Co/Instructional Tech Coordinator. I have learned a great deal about web design this school year. We rebuilt our District Site this year https://t.co/CXTZkzLgy5 and this was new to me #techtalkga
Hello, #TECHtalkGA!
I'm Angela, Dist ITS for MS/HS + French 1 T in Forsyth Co.
This year, I've GROWN in how I approach PL, both as a leader and participant, due to learning more about instructional design.
#techtalkga A1
Ryan White. Lead #edtech learner from #floydpln.
I've learned that change is inevitable. It's all about ensuring support and managing the initiative in order to ensure success.
Amy - I lead PD at an Atlanta startup, and I’m fortunate enough to work with educators across the country to support meaningful tech integration.
How I’ve grown in 2018...more intentional questioning, listening, and coaching in my current role. Learning so much.

#techtalkga A2
My #pln fam constantly pushes me to maintain what we currently do and push towards what we can do. For innovation to stick, you must have the idea, planning, and follow through. Otherwise, it's a dud.
A1: Ge-Anne, Whitfield County Schools, instructional technology and media specialist. I've learned to empower others and trust them to lead. #TECHtalkGA
Hello, #TECHtalkGA!
I'm Angela, Dist ITS for MS/HS + French 1 T in Forsyth Co.
This year, I've GROWN in how I approach PL, both as a leader and participant, due to learning more about instructional design.
A2 I am working on a team with teachers who have never taught our grade and/or subject. They have inspired me to be deliberate in planning and to be open to new ideas. #TECHtalkGA
A1: Hi. Rhonda from Gwinnett County. I’m the LSTC at Lanier HS. I have grown professionally through Twitter, conferences, and accepting that what I think I want to do in education isn’t the same as why I’m meant to do. #TECHtalkGA
A1: Deborah, Media and tech specialist, Dawson County HS. I have grown as a learner and leader in 2018 by trying to become a better listener. #TECHtalkGA
A2: @alienearbud podcast Better Leaders, Better Schools has inspired me to be a better leader and to also listen to more edu podcast and grow as a leader and learner. #TECHtalkGA
My wife is the one who inspires me every day. She is the reason I went into special education in the first place. She can read and write Braille and continues to push me everyday to grow. #techtalkga
Q2- too many to count. I have to give a shoutout to my colleague @mkhuss72. She inspires me both personally and professionally on the regular. Her passion for learning and growth challenge me to be a better leader - and brings a spark to my practice as a coach. #TECHtalkGA
A2: #TECHtalkGA I think it'd have to be @itsleegreen he teaches me balance and how to focus on the big picture instead of the temporal. He's the kind of person I want to become.
#@JGTechieTeacher has been my (unknown) tech mentor this year. I have learned awesome and have been inspired to step out of my norm. I’m more willing to present and teach my teachers because of her! ❤️ #techtalkga
A3: #TECHtalkGA Using the curriculum standards to start a conversation about using tech tools, but not being afraid to say that this lesson is fine without tech.
#techtalkga A3
The idea of a "not yet" mentality. We can continue to work hard towards a goal knowing that one day that we will reach it.
Also, letting the awesome #fcsdot team take on various leadership roles. They orchestrate lots of initiatives in #floydpln
A2: I also want to give a shoutout to @MmeBurgess, who continues to inspire me. Her commitment to growth and her follow-through is unbelievable. It’s one thing to have an idea or a plan... this lady just doesn’t stop challenging herself and serving others. #TECHtalkGA
A3: It's not about the tool but I've been super impressed learning about @wakelet and also growing global collaborators with @flipgrid#gridpals#techtalkga
Mandy Buckenham, ITS for Floyd County Schools. One of my biggest learning experiences (of many this year) is to slow down and focus on the big picture. I'm still a work in progress, but I'm getting there! #TECHtalkGA
A2: My wife is the one who inspires me every day. She is the reason I went into special education in the first place. She can read and write Braille and continues to push me everyday to grow. #techtalkga
A2: My family is full of someone’s who’ve inspired me 2 take more leaps of faith and believe that the best result will be. My Ss have also inspired me to lead them as I did when I was in the Clark, keep the end in mind & let’s figure out the in between along the way #TECHtalkGA
Q3: Working with classes before teachers has helped me to alleviate some of the “tech stress” my Ts have with new tech. Having Tech Helpers with our amazing Media Specialist @jlrearley also allows students to learn in small groups then go back and teach! #techtalkga
A1: Hello! I'm Nadia-- Digital Learning Coordinator for @CobbSchools.
This year, I've grow in being more patient, not just with things outside my control, but with myself. Of course, it's continued work in progress.
#TECHtalkGA
A3 I have tried to incorporate some flipped classroom opportunities when possible to "save" time for other learning opportunities in the classroom. Still a work in progress. #TECHtalkGA
A2 - The teachers and admins of #floydpln inspire me to always focus on what's the most important - the student. Our county has so many amazing folks who are dedicated to helping our children learn and grow. They inspire me every day! #TECHtalkGA
A2: I've been inspired by all our Ts. We went 1:1 iPads this year and our Ts have worked so hard to integrate tech and blend the new tools with their teaching styles. I'm in awe of all they've accomplished and inspired to help in every way I can. #TECHtalkGA
A3: BALANCE. May sound weird, but balance is something I’ve found this year. It was a huge goal of mine for 2017 AND 2018, and I feel like I’m finally figuring out how to serve in my role as a more rested and refreshed me, which was previously a big struggle. #TECHtalkGA
A3: My district has been offering a lot of professional development lately and it’s really helped me to grow in understanding the pedagogy of tech. I have to keep a lot of data and using tech has made my life so much easier! #techtalkga
A3: I have found the courage to admit that I was trying to change the mindset of the entire school/cluster in one key stroke and it wasn’t happening as I had hoped so I needed to change to get change to occur. #TECHtalkGA
I have gained a lot more confidence in 2018. This is only my 2nd in this position so it’s still a daily learning process. But I feel better in my teaching of students as well as teachers! #techtalkga
A4: By trying to give more choice in PL opportunities. The last couple I have designed has been more with choice and according to the survey the one that was most beneficial. #TECHtalkGA
#techtalkga A4
I'm not in a classroom, but I can say that we are using existing tools in ways I wouldn't have imagined. District benchmarks in Google Forms, Chromebook management in Sheets, and Google Sites for one stop shops.
A4: My teaching has evolved as I strive to push my students with disabilities. I’ve taught them things I never though I would like Algebra. The best part is that they’re getting it! #techtalkga
A3 - Lately I've been reading a lot more about the design thinking process. We had some great talks about it at Innovation Day last spring, and it's something I definitely want to continue to learn more about in the future. #TECHtalkGA
@JGTechieTeacher has been my (unknown) tech mentor this year. I have learned awesome and have been inspired to step out of my norm. I’m more willing to present and teach my teachers because of her! ❤️ #techtalkga
A4 - Even though I work more with teachers than students now, it seems like I have learned to focus more on helping Ts where they are,. Just like we differentiate with Ss, the same goes for adults! Meeting them where they are makes a huge difference! #TECHtalkGA
#TECHtalkGA A4:
Unfortunately, I've found that I teach in two completely diff styles, something I need to fix & address.
I teach fast & rushed in mandatory PL, but take my time more when offering choice.
This is NOT how I want to present/offer PL, so I need to change in '19.
A4: Again, I’ve stopped trying to change the entire place overnight and adopted a “slow drip on a rock” mindset with regards to teaching the usefulness of proper technology integration. Working with my Tech Team has helped me with this a lot this year. #TECHtalkGA
Yes!!! This is exactly how I feel. I have to remember that everyone learns differently & an@re ready at different times. That’s ok. I just don’t want to leave anyone out because they’re not comfortable. Meet them where they are! #techtalkga
A4: less me showing, more them doing. Always trying to discover ways to get educators engaged in authentic hands-on learning with tech.
I want them to dive in and *then* ask questions vs waiting to be 100% comfortable.
Creating a space of comfortable discomfort? :)
#TECHtalkGA
A5: I want to evolve by improving my relationships with my students. I don’t want them to just be a student in my class. I want to get to know them, their heart, and their hopes and dreams #techtalkga
A5 - I definitely want to communicate more with my admins to see what their vision for their staff & students may be, and how I can help them get there. #TECHtalkGA
A5: I'm grateful to have learned so much from conferences, working with differing departments, etc. that I plan to improve my service to my fellow educators by sharing what I've found more often and on a larger scale in 2019.
#TECHtalkGA
A4: As I've grown more confident as an InstTech leader I find myself more open to share the role of T in PD as a more effective method of empowering Ts and improving learning #TECHtalkGA
I will offer more PL opportunities for my Ts. I won’t get discouraged if they don’t come - but will find ways to help them in any way I can. #TECHtalkGA
A5 #TECHtalkGA
2019 will continue certain programs but also bring change and challenges. I can serve best by ensuring fidelity to these programs and working for best practices and solutions.
A5: Provide more time for feedback and reflection and implementing and building on what we have also
as @MarkWilsonGA taught me this year "Everybody needs a good walk out song" #techtalkga. Mine is East bound and down
A5: I want to design and facilitate more support for educational leaders.
My focus this year was primarily classroom teachers, which is awesome, but I want to expand to focus more on serving tech coaches and school/district leaders in 2019. #TECHtalkGA
A5: Provide more time for feedback and reflection and implementing and building on what we have also
as @MarkWilsonGA taught me this year "Everybody needs a good walk out song" #techtalkga Mine is East bound and down.
A4: I definitely see how much offering "play time" in trainings is key. I also see that I need to be better about asking for feedback on a regular basis (with opportunities to follow upas necessary if a person I'm training has a deeper question).
#TECHtalkGA
Great chat tonight, #TECHtalkGA!
Thanks to everyone who participated! We won't be back until Jan 14, 2019! Fill out the form below to make sure you get tagged as a reminder!

A5: I will first serve myself...meaning I’m going to take better care of myself both physically and mentally. Once that’s done I’ll be in a better, calmer, frame of mind to demonstrate patience with all others. I will serve them my passion for what I love. #TECHtalkGA
Best thing I ever did was ditch the slide deck & try to focus on the Ts in the rm & what they need. I had a friend say something like "how arrogant to try to tell me what *I* need for my Ss" (about some other thing) & I saw everything in a different light. #choice#TECHtalkGA
Thanks @MmeBurgess for finishing the year strong with this thought provoking chat tonight!! If I don’t “see” everyone around Twitter please have a restful break with loved ones and friends!! #TECHtalkGA
Isn't it funny how long it takes us to be comfortable sharing that? Why can't we just admit we don't know it all & decide to learn together??
#TECHtalkGA
Right?? I remember my 1st year as a T giving a totally incorrect answer to my Ss b/c I didn't want to be known as the T who didn't know...what I wouldn't give to go back & fix it now!
#TECHtalkGA
