Hi #read4fun! I'm Lisa, a literacy specialist, from Massachusetts. Happy to moderate for @Dr_LMR tonight! I'm currently reading The Thirteenth Tale (grown-up novel) and The New Kid (mg graphic novel).
Hi I'm Allison a K-8 librarian from St. Louis County, MO. I'm currently listening to The Blackthorn Key and reading My Not-So Bollywood Life. I ❤️ them. #Read4Fun
Hello! My name is Emily and I am a Special Education major at Kent State University. I just finished reading Miracles from Heaven by Christy Beam! #Read4Fun
Getting there! Now the stress is starting to settle in with all of the holiday things I haven’t done yet! Whatever I get to will have to be fine! Appreciate you help with #Read4Fun tonight! 😊
Good evening, #Read4Fun Currently reading two advanced copies, The Lost Girl by Anne Ursu & The Unteachables by Gordon Korman, and listening to The Summer of Styx Malone by Kekla Magoon. I'm a semi-retired educator from Indianapolis.
A few more books I really enjoyed this year were The Great Alone, The Woman in the Window, and The Secrets Between Us (follow up to The Space Between Us which is one of my favorites). #Read4Fun
A1 Hard to name only a few, but some of my favorite books of 2018 are: Educated, Darius the Great is Not Okay, When the Shot Drops, A Heart in a Body in the World, Hey Kiddo, Monday’s Not Coming, Ivy Aberdeen’s Letter to the World, The Benefits of Being an Octopus #Read4Fun
My favorites for 2018 include Squint by Chad Morris & Melissa Brown, Louisiana's Way Home by Kate DiCamillo, and Hello Lighthouse by Sophie Blackall #Read4Fun
I set a goal to read 100 books. So far I've read 123 middle grade & grown-up novels. I like using Goodreads to keep track because I can see a visual of all that I've read through the year. I read way more fiction than nonfiction. I need to add more NF. #read4fun
Absolutely! Especially when travel is involved, then I generally stockpile way more than I can get to, which I guess is what I do during non-travel, too! #Read4Fun
I set a goal of 118 but have not added all my PD reads yet. I sort of forget those because they tend be ‘open books’ that I reference often when reading so it’s like they are not finished. #Read4Fun
A2 I tend to gravitate toward realistic and historical fiction. I challenged myself this year to explore some new genres and fell in love with Scythe, Thunderhead, Strange the Dreamer, The Muse of Nightmares, and Dread Nation. #Read4Fun
I don’t do all of the books I read, but I would like to for next year..every single book. I keep an ongoing number in my class for my students to see. #read4fun
A2: I set a goal, but I make mine easy because I want to keep enjoying reading and not stress myself out! I also include all books in my goal count (picture books, novels, MG, YA). So maybe it's more of a running total than a goal! 🤣 #Read4Fun
I think I put every grown-up read and middle grade read that I read this year, but probably missed one or two. I didn't include professional reads. #Read4Fun
I've been hearing a lot about The Library Book by @susanorlean. It sounds like a fantastic book. I haven't gotten to it yet, but it will definitely be one of my vacation reads. #read4fun
Amal Unbound is another book I must read soon. I'm sure it's as amazing as everyone says. It definitely sounds like the type of book I'd like. #read4fun
