A3: book recommendations, exit tickets, I like the idea on the resource about Birthday greetings #gfedchat
  • MrsBHoff Mar 5 @ 10:05 PM EST
A3: I have not used it within the classroom but my mind is turning now! Exit slips, idea shares, etc #gfedchat
  • kcebula Mar 5 @ 10:06 PM EST
A3: class shout outs like our staff shout outs, #gfedchat
  • Johnson5Century Mar 5 @ 10:06 PM EST
I have a question about Padlet. (I know, I'm supposed to be ANSWERING QUESTIONS not asking them. Sorry!) Can you SAVE their responses? Or is the only way to record their responses by doing a screenshot? #gfedchat
  • chaaven Mar 5 @ 10:07 PM EST
If you have not used Flipgrid, here is your chance to learn together Go to https://t.co/CHpQdFkBnY - Click on Educator Login and Login with Google (Blue Button) Check out this quick tutorial https://t.co/gYNJVPQWHE #gfedchat

A3-exit slips, learning new vocabulary (synonyms, pictures, etc.), sharing learning over the year as a portfolio, complimenting students or thanking people would be really cool, so many ideas. #gfedchat
  • JenNeil12 Mar 5 @ 10:08 PM EST
A3: We will also be starting opinion writing, so we could use padlet to pose a question and Ss can respond with their opinion and reasons to get started #gfedchat
  • mkorslien Mar 5 @ 10:08 PM EST
A3: I have used @padlet a few times in class. My tip is to have expectations of the students using it before they post. I have had some spam it with craziness. You can make it so you have to approve the posts but it gets a little bogged down. Still worth using it. #gfedchat
  • chaaven Mar 5 @ 10:08 PM EST
Their responses will stay on the board in your dashboardā€¦so you can go back and check on their responsesā€¦or revisit the next day #gfedchat

  • KJWirt Mar 5 @ 10:08 PM EST
Lots of interesting ways to use padlet. Still brainstorming how to use in sped setting. Informal academic assessments #gfedchat
  • PageKristy Mar 5 @ 10:11 PM EST
A3: It would be cool to make a support group padlet for Ss supervised by healthcare providers (counselors, social workers, psychologists) #gfedchat
  • KaileyRestad Mar 5 @ 10:14 PM EST
A3: With flipgrid, I didn't want to buy the paid version, so I have to delete and recreate a new board each time...I wish I could keep them, but don't want to throw down the $$ #gfedchat
  • chaaven Mar 5 @ 10:15 PM EST
  • MrsThompson5th Mar 5 @ 10:15 PM EST
A3: you can use Padlet for exit slips, reflections, answering questions, the list is problably endless..I havenā€™t used it yet. #gfedchat
  • chaaven Mar 5 @ 10:16 PM EST
Q4 How could you use Flipgrid in your classroom to make student thinking visible? Please share ideas so we can all learn together #gfedchat

A4: I think I would like to use it with literature circles for my students to reflect and make predictions #gfedchat
  • geoffgaukler Mar 5 @ 10:17 PM EST
Found a resource for goal setting on Flipgrid...Students create a Flipgrid video stating their goals, strategies to achieve them, specific time frame for their completion, and perhaps what resources (help from peers/teachers/mentors, materials, support) may be needed. #gfedchat
  • Johnson5Century Mar 5 @ 10:18 PM EST
A4 - Flipgrid could be a powerful way for Ss to share their learning in so many subject areas. Many Ss hate to write, but with FlipGrid, they can use their voice. #gfedchat
  • chaaven Mar 5 @ 10:18 PM EST
You can have as many topics (board) as you want with the free version. No need to delete a board #gfedchat

Q4: I haven't used Flipgrid in my classroom, but after I watched the tutorial, I think I could have my Ss do a book review! #gfedchat
  • kcebula Mar 5 @ 10:18 PM EST
A4: Ss used it to share their thinking during The Wild Robot, Ss loved sharing ideas but also listening to other Ss ideas #gfedchat
  • KatieLChandler Mar 5 @ 10:18 PM EST
A4: @flipgrid is a valuable tool any time you want your students to reflect on a question, topic, project, show their learning, comment on others work. #gfedchat
  • MrsHeydt Mar 5 @ 10:18 PM EST
A4: Maybe you could use it in a class meeting type of setting (like, "we have this problem to solve...classroom supplies are not being put back where they need to be" - or something like that) and Ss could post suggestions/ideas/solutions? #gfedchat
  • JenStarcevic Mar 5 @ 10:18 PM EST
A4: I could see them making a video response describing the color of their clothing or telling about their family...en espaƱol por favor šŸ˜‰#gfedchat
  • SWallsRRHS Mar 5 @ 10:19 PM EST

  • NLeeGFC Mar 5 @ 10:19 PM EST
A4: I feel like I don't get to check in with students frequently enough on their independent reading. I could have them use Flipgrid to record their reflections and even give feedback or add to the conversation with them #gfedchat
  • JessieRErickson Mar 5 @ 10:19 PM EST
Progressive story telling or reflection on a chapter from a book. Could also give a summary of what you learned in Social Studies or in Science Lab... endless possibilities. https://t.co/26KIIGyswh #gfedchat

  • 5thPhelps Mar 5 @ 10:20 PM EST
A4: Iā€™ve used it as a back to school icebreaker-sharing about summer break, thoughts for honoring Martin Luther King Jr., If I were president thoughts, sharing about winter break-the students love to record themselves + the stickers #gfedchat
  • amandasev1 Mar 5 @ 10:20 PM EST
A4 I hadn't heard of flipgrid before tonight. I'm interested to see some ideas #gfedchat
  • kseniakelly1 Mar 5 @ 10:21 PM EST
A4: We could use the flipgrid to share the strategies to solve a SOMA cube puzzle. #gfedchat
  • MrsH_511 Mar 5 @ 10:21 PM EST
A4-I'm always trying to brainstorm ways to help Ss feel more comfortable sharing for an IEP. I could see them using flipgrid to record what they want to say in advance.I also like the idea of introductions at the beginning of the year or if new Ss join the classroom. #gfedchat
  • bryanwalls2 Mar 5 @ 10:21 PM EST
A4: that looks really cool. #gfedchat
  • JenNeil12 Mar 5 @ 10:21 PM EST
A4: We did the same. Ss thoroughly enjoy it and worked on their communication skills. #gfedchat
    • kcebula Mar 5 @ 10:18 PM EST
A4: Ss used it to share their thinking during The Wild Robot, Ss loved sharing ideas but also listening to other Ss ideas #gfedchat
  • bmhanson7 Mar 5 @ 10:21 PM EST
A4: Ss love Flipgrid & hearing other Ss responses. Most would rather talk about something than write about it. (Writing takes some longer 2 get their thoughts out.) Flipgrid can b used 4 many things, like book recommendations, exit slips, reflections on specific learning #gfedchat
  • MsHellyersClass Mar 5 @ 10:22 PM EST
#gfedchat A4: I would use flipgrid as a speaking activity with my Ss.
  • chaaven Mar 5 @ 10:22 PM EST
One teachers idea would be to have P1 Ss do their video on Monday, P2 on Tuesday, etc so you are not so overwhelmed with 120 video all at once #gfedchat
    In reply to @NLeeGFC
  • tmaeconnell Mar 5 @ 10:23 PM EST
A4 I could see using it to share listening journals #gfedchat
  • chaaven Mar 5 @ 10:24 PM EST
Q5 As you reflect back to your first answer, is your favorite digital tool for Ss making thinking Visible for them or amplifying their voice? Explain #gfedchat
  • kaialunde Mar 5 @ 10:24 PM EST
A4: I'd love to use FlipGrid as an exit ticket for Ss. I'd have to be intentional to set the ss up for success by not letting them say something else that has been said before #gfedchat
  • bmhanson7 Mar 5 @ 10:24 PM EST
A5: YES!! @Seesaw definitely amplifies Ss voices and allows them the opportunity to share their thinking with classmates, teachers, and their family. #gfedchat
  • laiverson4 Mar 5 @ 10:25 PM EST
Making thinking visible. They learn SO much from having to organize their thoughts to convey their thinking clearly. They teach it. If you can teach it, you know it. #gfedchat

  • rcorbin040 Mar 5 @ 10:26 PM EST
A5: Yes, I learn so much about how my students think and what they understand from Seesaw. #gfedchat
  • tmaeconnell Mar 5 @ 10:26 PM EST
A5 yes, they get to hear and see their work and can share with others #gfedchat
  • chaaven Mar 5 @ 10:26 PM EST
    Hereā€™s another @Flipgrid resource https://t.co/XkoxxPfphW #gfedchat
  • buchhop25 Mar 5 @ 10:26 PM EST
A5: making their thinking visible. Example: each student recorded themselves solving/explaining a double digit multiplication problem on seesaw. I was able to see who could explain and do and who could just do. Parents were also able to see how their child is doing #gfedchat
  • JessieRErickson Mar 5 @ 10:26 PM EST
A5: I think all my favorite tools amplify student voice and can enhance student choice as well, if they are used to do so. #gfedchat
  • amykuznia Mar 5 @ 10:26 PM EST
A5: I think Seesaw has the ability to do both. #gfedchat
  • MRT_Tweet5 Mar 5 @ 10:26 PM EST
A5: I was looking for ideas in my first answer but Iā€™ve really enjoyed using @Biblionasium gives students and opinions to review books, build a library and interact with others. #gfedchat
  • chaaven Mar 5 @ 10:27 PM EST
Thanks to @Taralson from @Flipgrid for providing all Ts in #gfedchat with a free 45 day trial to @Flipgrid classroom. #FlipgridFever #studentvoice
  • 5thPhelps Mar 5 @ 10:27 PM EST
A5: I think Adobe Spark does both. Gives students the chance to bring their their thoughts to life while putting their own voice into their projects. #gfedchat
  • MrsBHoff Mar 5 @ 10:27 PM EST
A5: making their thinking visible, but that also makes those quiet Ss heard in a way also. #gfedchat
  • KaileyRestad Mar 5 @ 10:27 PM EST
Also wanted to say that if you use Google Classroom, you can easily "assign" a flipgrid. BOOM! #gfedchat
  • KatieLChandler Mar 5 @ 10:27 PM EST
    OMG! Awesome!! #gfedchat

  • bpolum Mar 5 @ 10:28 PM EST
My original answer was about photoshop. However, I don't see it as a way to show student thinking but can show voice. #gfedchat
  • MrsH_511 Mar 5 @ 10:28 PM EST
A5-I really like seeing the Ss's thinking and them being able to share that thinking with others. Technology has definitely given us more options to make that happen! #gfedchat
  • MrsHeydt Mar 5 @ 10:28 PM EST
A5: I really like Seesaw for both! Sometimes I would assign them to show me work and explain their thinking and sometimes we would post work simply to share with others/practice commenting on each other's work! #gfedchat
  • JessieRErickson Mar 5 @ 10:28 PM EST
Nice, thanks @Taralson! You all are going to love giving @Flipgrid a try in your classrooms! #gfedchat
  • geoffgaukler Mar 5 @ 10:28 PM EST
A5: Yes, I would say that my DoInk project with a student definitely amplified her voice! #gfedchat
  • MsHellyersClass Mar 5 @ 10:29 PM EST
#gfedchat A5: I think it is both visible and amplifying voice through expression and video.
  • SWallsRRHS Mar 5 @ 10:29 PM EST
    A5: making thinking visible #gfedchat
  • NLeeGFC Mar 5 @ 10:29 PM EST
A5: That's the great thing about them: students enjoy increased engagement and learning because they can share their thinking with each other. #gfedchat
  • kseniakelly1 Mar 5 @ 10:29 PM EST
A5: Each website/app I use accomplishes something different - I can see it better now! #gfedchat
  • mattsolberg22 Mar 5 @ 10:29 PM EST
A5: My class has a bit of a unique blend, but I think there is room to incorporate an app like padlet, flipgrid,or several others that would showcase student voice in their work. #gfedchat
  • smilingin3rd Mar 5 @ 10:29 PM EST
