Call to adventure for sure. The end of the year is a blank check I get to write and cash at the start of the next school year. Plus I get nothing done during planning w a lot of the other things that happen during that time. #HCPSTeach

I find that to be true too ... I am curious and always want to see the great ideas others have (truly stealing ... oops, harvesting them for my own classroom) #HCPSTeach

A1: I love adventures and try to spend as much time outside as possible! I'm in phase one of a fellowship and am coaching Brazilian High school students. I get to meet my students face-to-face this summer after connecting on Google Hangout and FB! #summer#HCPSTeach
Yes! Itβs hard giving up summer time to relax but I always felt less anxious about preplanning and having my room ready for open house if I went in early. #hcpsteach
I work throughout the summer to develop the theme for my classroom. I find that it helps me be less stressed if I prepare my room in advance. @HcpsTeach
A2: Teachers need their tribe! There are so many people who help! We synergize to make sure we plan ahead and ultimately, support each other when we need it. #hcpsteach

I have to confess I don't feel the stress of 'pinteresting' π€£ I really enjoy having kids write the schedule, list the lesson objectives, and bell work. Sometimes I might have to help them do the job right or just do the job myself but often I'm satisfied. #HCPSTeach

Definitely all the @EdCampHCPS@Edcamprvhs#HackLearning peeps this year boosted my struggles in the classroom ... helping me improve my practice ... #SpringBoardPL Teacher of Distinction provided me with valuable feedback and validation π #HCPSTeach

A3: You can't control what you can't control. And sometimes you have a bigger impact if you don't focus on the granular. I had to let go of trying to make change in HCPS, and focus on making change at a larger level. #HCPSTeach
A3 I feel like Iβm having them often ... today I had one > attended @PPrincipals session @FLSouthern ... myth I need to learn is just because Iβm well-planned doesnβt mean I wonβt have problems ... learning / teaching is messy #HCPSTeach
A4: Tenacity? I think what keeps me coming back is the belief that we can make change for good. That we can impact students in a positive way with meaningful learning experiences #hcpsteach

A3: #FailingForward means being willing to try new things and have a positive outlook! Flexibility is important and my classroom has continuously grown into a place where students are leaders. Stepping back and watching students lead=proud moments. #hcpsteach
A3: I was given three FBA students with 6 additional behavior issues this year. I survived. My students grew academically and behaviorally. I believe that I have shown that every student can learn with strategically planned technology based interventions. @HcpsTeach

A4: The students! I am continuously learning from every student. I enjoy hearing their stories and what makes them who they are. It drives me to grow as an educator. Creating a culture in my classroom where Ss become risk-takers and be who they are defines #MyWhy#hcpsteach
A4: I want to make a difference. I used to work at a Renaissance school. I miss it. I made those babies grow. I showed them they could do it. They were so proud of themselves. I may not leave teaching, but .... I may go back to my roots. @HcpsTeach
I taught both ends and I always enjoyed working with a level 1 reader more than a level 5. Everyone has their group that makes them feel like a teacher β₯οΈ #hcpsteach

I have Technology Tuesdays to teach Coding using Sphero & Scratch, Hatch π£ducks and chicks to teach adaptations, variations, vertebrates and invertebrates. Design a zoo to teach area & perimeter. Make models of our Earth π for Earth day etc. #HCPSTEACH
