R1: I think that tech gives students that normally aren’t talkative in class the opportunity to use their voice in making connections in the classroom. #nvedchat
A1-10000% more effective. Too many people think #edtech#tech will make your life easier, but it helps you be more productive and focus on the human side of education. #NVedchat

A1: Being a #SchoolCounselor in the Digital Era means I can be more effective, efficient, & engaging when meeting w/ key stakeholders (Ss, staff, families, etc). I advocate 4 ALL students 2 have access 2 educational opportunities. #NVedchat
A1 Seconding Google Classroom! Also, Google Forms- for assessment w/ immediate feedback, for engaging w/ families prior to conferences, and for students to use to gather data (from surveys, for math activities, etc.) #nvedchat
A2 I’ve created customized lessons & streamlined data collection. 💙 presentation tool is @nearpod. “We all want 2 have engaging, effective lessons &meaningful connections with Ss” My article 4 @CorwinPresshttps://t.co/3fku87UpW8#NVedchat
A1: It started several years ago when I wanted to incorporate a class website with a calendar. Now, I work smarter and not harder and help my students do the same through technology #nvedchat
R1: we need to also use tech because it isn’t going anywhere. Look at the changes in the last 10 years. We must keep up and stay ahead of the wave. #nvedchat
A2 💚the advice from @Google Education Evangelist @jcasap “Don't ask kids what they want to be when they grow up (career). Ask them what problem they want to solve (lifelong learners!)” 🤔 I then ask “& how can tech help you solve that problem?” #NVedchat
Hi I'm Tyler Villegas, a preservice math teacher at the University of Oklahoma. First twitter chat, and I'm looking forward to it! #3043 #oklaed#NVedchat
A1 yes! When I use technology to guid a lesson I also get to spend more one on one with students, they can progress at their own pace. #edtech allows us to demonstrate things in a new way #nvedchat
A2 Check out 10 ways families can encourage girls to explore computer science and related technology fields: https://t.co/yZu0iG36Nb “Technology is a fast-growing, high-paying, creative field.” #CSforALL#NVedchat@NCWIT

A2-I think #technology is a the great equalizer for all students and can provide access to all students as well if implemented correctly.
Student engagement is the key driver with #tech in education. Nothing else can really compares in my opinion.
#NVedchat
My supervisor gives me a deadline and will sometimes send calendar invites for them. I am capable of doing that myself, so I could go either way with this one #nvedchat
R2: I have 2 students that are Spanish speakers and a Vietnamese student (all 3 new to our country). They use @Flipgrid to communicate in English. I translate papers using Google Translate. Again, so much change in just a couple years for engaging ALL LEARNERS #nvedchat
No only has tech allowed me to reach more families...it has given me some tools that enable me to touch base with my ELL families at the very least. #nvedchat
interesting idea.. paired with even local college visits so they get the smells and the feel of it too.. Visit local where cost is not a barrier but dream big.. #ivyleague ? #nvedchat

R2: Tech allows my families to communicate with me and me with them. NO MATTER LANGUAGE BARRIERS or work schedules. I don’t need someone to translate for me. It’s my words to them and their words to me. #nvedchat

Bonus question! What’s the strangest request you’ve received from a student to see their school counselor? (no identifying info for student)! #NVedchat
A3: We also use @SmorePages for kids to create with as well as @quizizz and @quizlet. I love having so many tools to choose from & I am always on the lookout for more #NVedchat
Not a counselor request, but a student asked for advice after his girlfriend told him that she had an STD, made for a very awkward conversation #nvedchat

Technology provides alternate effective forms of communication home to parents. In addition, technology provides students with a new ability to learn at their own pace, as guided by the teacher, benefitting accelerated, general, and slower learners. #NVedchat

When I was sick, and when I went on my college tours, it was incredibly helpful to be able to connect to the class remotely to make sure I didn't miss any content and get left behind! #nvedchat
honestly, I think bitmoji makes me accessible to students.. show my humor and give the stickers I want to give that you can't give on digital assignments. #nvedchat i did a @bitmoji syllabus last fall.

A3: I like Twitter and Facebook to get ideas from other educators. I enjoy using @Flipgrid to give my students a voice. So many out there, it’s hard to pick. #NVEdChat
