Q3. Share a time when one of your virtual connections made a difference in your professional life.

A3. Meeting on Twitter was a big game changer for me. She started and allowed me to moderate my first chat.

-
A3. Someone sent me a Direct Message that helped in understanding some areas of Twitter I was struggling to use - great learning!

-
A3:when I heard about the Happiness Adv book and Shawn Achors work on a twitter chat-this work impacted school and district

-
A3. Another big moment was hooking up with to share some Voxer love across KY and at ISTE.

-
KASA - not KASS. Silly autocorrect...

A3: Also this kyadmin twitter chat gave me the confidence to be more involved with other chats

-
A3. A couple years ago I had a T ask a tech question-I did t know the answer so I asked my Voxer group and had 10 answers in 5 min.

-
Hey friends. I just saw a mention by Shelee and realized I was missing it again!

-
Hey Lou - so glad you are here!!

-
Q4. How do you model being a connected educator for other educators? How do you encourage them to be connected?

-
exactly! It also made quite an impression on that T as she watched "instant support" come from all over the country!

-
A4 use it daily - T leaders hv started a school chat monthly for PD credit, VOXER book chats, all staff comm through google CR

-
A4. Sometimes I offer prizes for Ts who tweet during a PD session.

-
Our GCIPL project this year is a Twitter collab with . I'm looking forward to seeing what develops and how it impacts

-
A4. Talk about it frequently - ask if I can help them get connected - link resources to their name on Twitter. Model - model

love Voxer!!! Using it right now for a book talk on Poke the Box while following this chat.

a2 and Whitney York, tech T taught me to network & get connected. Life changers!

-
A4 My school is work in progress We've implemented Google Classroom this year and have enjoyed the communication and collaboration

-
A4. We've done several book chats on Voxer that have modeled connectedness.

-
A4: Share quotes/tweets/resources with others, trainings for staff to use various medias

-
A4: Other than that-finding tools online that blend with the T's style. Tweeting is not always the answer...or is it. :)

-

-
A4. Biggest change=Google Drive together. In spirit of transparency we share everythng as a school through a shared drive.

-

-
A4 def think you just keep trying! Multiple exposures - diff options!

-
A4. Flipped faculty meetings give me the chance to model several tech tools for being connected.

-

-
A4. Trying to show colleagues about has been fun

-
A4 each week I send out a tech tip to my distinct. I incorporate a means of connecting as well as a classroom tech tool.

-
a4 we did a book chat on Twitter and joined us! The Ts were excited!

-
I agree with Google Drive. And being 1:1. The kids are modeling connectedness. https://t.co/ExWvQNvEp2

A4. Biggest change=Google Drive together. In spirit of transparency we share everythng as a school through a shared drive.

-
A4. Tonight we have made progress. In life we would probably never have the chance to share w/ each other. https://t.co/NNfEWuRQqW

-
I need to learn more about Voxer! I was "with it" for a little while and time got away from me

-
Q5. How do you fit being a connected educator in with all your other commitments?

-
A4 it's also #1 on my list to communicate to new teachers each year. Get connected and read.

-
A5. I put this Twitter chat on my Outlook calendar so it's scheduled.

-
A5: Same way with all the other items - gotta prioritize and staying connected really saves time in long run with great benefits

-
A5: I think that's a really complex question. I have about a 15 minute answer balancing it being who you are vs. something u do

-
A5. That changes throughout the school year for me. At times I balance OK - then I may go weeks completely disconnected.

-

-
Mind blown. No, seriously. I will do that. https://t.co/MFBF0XHiX6
-
 -
A5. I put this Twitter chat on my Outlook calendar so it's scheduled.

-
A5 placing it on calendar is key! Joining chats helps you learn how to connect

-
I love to join book study groups! That was fun! Love to Skype/GHO, too!

-
A5: Honestly, after 2 years of interviewing APs and hearing "you're always on Twitter" (I'm not), I thought it was time for break

-
A5. Usually if I am on Twitter to post something for school, I will commit to 5 minutes to read/learn something as well.

-
A5 I also believe we make time 4 what we value. Twitter helps me learn from other leaders- if u are same as you were 5 yr ago..

-
I place mine on my Outlook calendar. Everything I do is on Outlook or it doesn't get accomplished. Ha

-
Same here! If it's not in Outlook, it's not happening.

-
A5 connecting can be done on the go even at a youth football game. Makes it easier than most commitments. https://t.co/JuQ08DG5bD

-
So true! Connectedness can happen anywhere thanks to smart phones!

-
A5 cont. we constantly hv to adapt bc the world is not stagnant and neither should teaching and learning!

-
Awww...miss talking to you folks. We should Voxer more often in the old group.

-
Q6. What developments do you foresee in connected education within the next five years?

-
21 minutes until tonight's topic: Bullying .

-
A6. More of a hope...but I hope that more educators will realize the value of being connected. Have to keep sharing this resource!

-
A6 I hope a lot!! Bc right now our newest Ts aren't professionally connected nor know how to be

-
A6 Its much easier for those outside the school building to see what students are doing in real time

-
I would like to see KDE use Skype more often for interactive trainings online

-
A6: I think I'd like to see more satellite conference opportunities via voxer, skype, hangout, etc.

-
You just gave me an idea, Alison. We could connect all of OUR new t's. Hmmmm... https://t.co/ZIQDkBeaCp

We have monthly new teacher meetings at school...how can we all work together to get our new Ts connected?

-
A6 with technology the skies are the limit. Miles become inches.

-
A6: Hopefully fewer in person meetings and more tech mtgs thru Skype, more classrooms connected around the world,

-

-
Tonight's questions came from the connected educator profiles on https://t.co/tlvkxPlYCP Be sure to check out their answers!

-
A6 used google hangout this summer to interview. Would love to use this with Ts across the state to collaborate

-
A6. I would bet we will see more Google hangouts in education. We have weekly admin mtgs on GHO and we did 2 interviews this summer.

-
Our school connects to a Danish academy through Skype, and has done so for several years, they then visit us in the spring

-
Final question coming up! Been a great chat tonight...love connecting with all of you!

-
I would LOVE for our principal meetings in HCS to move towards GHO. Such a time saver!

-
what did you use to show Instruction in real time? It was a video.

-
What if we could make a connection with Ts…Skype thought the year, then visit in person from time to time….

-
Q7. Give a shoutout to some of the connected educators in your school/district who help you learn on a daily basis.
