Hey Shelly @ShellTerrell! So wonderful to have you moderating this very important issue No 200 for us. And so awesome to have you as a friend and moderator! The only thing missing is that we meet in real life! #EDchatDE#JubileeEdition200
Since #EDchatDE No 200 will be moderated by awesome US-Guestmoderators @ShellTerrell & @TheBradCurrie to make international connections coming true, it will be completely in english language. We strongly recommend the use of deepL-Translator https://t.co/QUsigJ5SIR
Hallo, Stefan, Lehrer für Sonderpädagogik und Geographie, Förderschule in Brandenburg #edchatde
Meine allerbesten Glückwünsche zum 200. Geburtstag.
#EDchatDE
At the beginning, all of us introduce themselves: name, position, city, country - and off we go! #EDchatDE
High Brad @TheBradCurrie, really honored to have you moderating our #EDchatDE#JubileeEDition200. I am thrilled, since you are the founder of my favorite #satchat and you just simply rock digital education.

Hi everyone, I'm Peter.
I've been teaching English, German, Drama at a Bavarian girls' grammar school since 1986; head of English since 2000. #LdL#Humour#digi#EDchatDE
Hi! I’m Shelly Sanchez, an adj professor in TX, cofounder of #Edchat a new mom, and the author of a new book about Mission Minded Learning with #Edtech Missions https://t.co/uV4UFWA2er#EDchatDE
Peter! Was wäre der #EDchatDE ohne Peter @vilsrip? #1000Dank#JubileeEdition200
Danke liebe Christiane @frandevol.
#JubileeEdition200

Hi #edchatde! It’s Nina, I teach English, History and Latin (and soon, hopefully, some IT-stuff 😉).
I’m super excited for tonight’s chat and can’t believe it’s number 200 already! 😃🎉🎉🎉
Hi fellow educators+friends! I’m Regina, High School teacher, Hamburg, subjects: English, History, Politics and part of #oerBausteineHH - Congratulations to #EDchatDE 's 200th edition!
#edchatde
A1: Twitter chats and using hashtags are the most powerful ways to connect because you can have real time conversations, https://t.co/WzKlWpTU51#EDchatDE
A1 Actually I am using facebook groups more and more to get in touch with other teachers and to read (and learn) what they share. #EDchatDE#JubileeEdition200
Hi everybody, this is Felix, co-founder of https://t.co/6GzGaoyVBW, a digital program to learn reading in German, located in Munich, Germany -). I am happy to be part of this special event of #edchatde. -)
#EDchatDE#babelfish
A1: Twitter chats and using hashtags are the most powerful ways to connect because you can have real time conversations, https://t.co/WzKlWpTU51#EDchatDE
A1 Actually I am using facebook groups more and more to get in touch with other teachers and to read (and learn) what they share. #EDchatDE#JubileeEdition200
A1 Twitter is my favorite way to connect with teachers online, especially when it’s about #digitalmedia. I’ve been using #instragram for some months now, too, and I like the stories of American teachers sharing their ideas. 👍🏻 #edchatde#JubileeEdition200
A1 My favourite way of connecting is also Twitter. But at a local level, we use WhatsApp. FB is more for friends that I share some part of my past with.
#EDchatDE
Often the contact starts with an answer/help to a question. This sometimes results in a new contact. webinars are usually not personal enough #edchatde
#EDchatDE#babelfish
A2: also staring a shared Google doc during an online conference or volunteering to curate resources will leave a lasting impression and really help teachers collect the info #edchatde
A2 There’s not a big difference between online courses & real life, I’d say. Be friendly, honest and "real". Sharing resources and ideas can also be a good ice breaker 😜 #edchatde#JubileeEdition200
A1: … it’s been a long time since my last #EDchatDE. Couldn’t miss its 200th edition - #EDchatDE, where my online exchange of ideas concerning education and connection to educators started in 2013.
A2: MOOCs etc are great fun - but most xMOOCs are really poor at integrating Twitter etc. With the end of the course, the cooperation & exchange ends. Still: At @FutureLearn, e.g., I always follow the instructors on Twitter, and like on-platform contributions by peers #EDchatDE
A3 Since I am mostly connecting with German Groups I can recommend „Deutsches Lehrerforum“, EDchatDE, Medienkompetenz in sozialen Netzwerken“, „Netzpolitik“, „GMK Fachgruppe Netzpolitik“ #JubileeEdition200#EdchatDE
A3: I like to join fb-groups about certain applications and digital tools, e. g. @BookCreatorApp , @cospaces_edu or @MetaverseApp You find there so many ideas how you can use these tools in your classroom #edchatde
A2 Concerning MOOCs or Webinars it is essential to have a good internet connection and camera/microphone to see, talk and to be seen and heard without any hassle. #JubileeEdition200#EDchatDE
A2 Have an avatar with a suitable picture and a meaningful, informative bio, maybe with some hashtags, so that other participants know, what your expertise is. #JubileeEdition200#EDchatDE
#EDchatDE#babelfish#JubileeEdition200
A2 Have an avatar with a suitable picture and a meaningful, informative bio, maybe with some hashtags, so that other participants know, what your expertise is. #JubileeEdition200#EDchatDE
Tips for making connections while participating in online courses for example #MOOCs are implementing Livesessions with possibility to chat and ask questions! And do a followup session some weeks after the moocs❗️
#EDchatDE
A2 Tips for making connections while participating in online courses for example #MOOCs are implementing Livesessions with possibility to chat and ask questions! And do a followup session some weeks after the moocs❗️ #EDchatDE
@Twitter makes "Teachers Without Borders" possible. Maybe in the near future, we could start an initiative similar to "Doctors Without Borders. #Edchatde
A2 Have an avatar with a suitable picture and a meaningful, informative bio, maybe with some hashtags, so that other participants know, what your expertise is. #JubileeEdition200#EDchatDE
Q2 tips for making connections while participating in online courses, MOOCs, webinars, etc.? #EDchatDE - Twitter hashtags, Mooc forums, LinkedIn - and always very nice & surprising: meet in person
A3: I have absolutely nothing of value to contribute on the topic of Facebook teacher groups. But I'll be reading everybody else's thoughts on this. #EDchatDE
A4: Blogs allow anyone to listen to your ideas, struggles, achievements, and experiences then leave comments at anytime. You can have longer conversations with deeper reflection #EDchatDE
A4 Blogging is always a great way to share your thoughts, to reflect on your work and to get into an interaction with others. #EDchatDE#JubileeEdition200
A4 A blog can be an important part of your digital footprint and let others find you or information about you on the internet. #EDchatDE#JubileeEdition200
I’m just so curious about Ed worldwide. We are all in the same profession, share the same passion, and our looking for everything we can to support our Ss and our own learning. #EdChatDE
A4 if someone is looking for me on the internet, they often land first on my blog and find a lot of information about me and my work. #EDchatDE#JubileeEdition200
A4: I've published extensively on blogging as an educational practice (and experimented for a couple of years with edublogging). But I'm not certain that it has the same kind of vitality it had a few years ago. Are blogs 'a thing' beyond text dumps nowadays? #EdChatDE
#EDchatDE#babelfish#JubileeEdition200
A4: Blogs allow anyone to listen to your ideas, struggles, achievements, and experiences then leave comments at anytime. You can have longer conversations with deeper reflection #EDchatDE
A4 In former times you had a (static) homepage. Now you often have a blog. On a blog, others can comment and get into interaction with you. #EDchatDE#JubileeEdition200
A4: blogging is not only a way of reflecting on your own work, but also a way to reach out to the world. Sharing and feedback culture is promoted and encouraged. This is how you learn from other's great knowledge and your virtual staff. #EDchatDE
A4 As said before, sharing is caring. A blog is a good way to collect & "showcase" your ideas & material.
Plus, I really like to reflect on what I do…
Attention: Commercial break 😉 https://t.co/PEnl6WSSdf is my blog (mostly in German, English lessons in English) #edchatde
A4: I would like to learn more about blogging; thus far, I follow a few education bloggers. It's another powerful way to elevate the teaching profession #edchatde
A4: In my opinion educational podcasts are the auditive alternative to written blog articles. I listen to them regularly and get so many new ideas! #edchatde

A5 I haven't had that thought yet. But is simply convincing.... Teachers who network internationally, help in crisis areas with education, support human rights worldwide... Wow. We should seriously consider this! #EDchatDE#edchat#satchat#aussieed#AfricaEd
A5: Blogging may be a softer start into web2.0 practices. They are a space that you control (unlike Facebook etc). Blogging will still be here in 2020. So: Blogging is a solid, conservative option for PLNs. #edchatDe
A5 We think that the best way to get out of old ways of thinking is to exchange ideas internationally and thus question your own and get to know new things. #EDchatDE
A4 In former times you had a (static) homepage. Now you often have a blog. On a blog, others can comment and get into interaction with you. #EDchatDE#JubileeEdition200
A4 Blogging allows for more comprehensive considerations and representations than is possible e. g. via Twitter. And finally, networking is based on content! #EDchatDE

I don’t think they have in education. I think when people say Our of fashion often refers to youth but they change social networks and formats so often #EDchatDE
A4 Blogging allows for more comprehensive considerations and representations than is possible e. g. via Twitter. And finally, networking is based on content! #EDchatDE
Blogs certainly serve as content dumps/text hosting. But isn't the real action on the SNS where you share that content? Who uses RSS feed aggregators nowadays? #edchatDe#A5
A4: Blogs promote diversity, they are authentic, share knowledge, inspirational ideas beyond national boundaries, educational systems and curricula. They engage PLNs! #EDchatDE

A5 It is possible to apply for the A5 German Teachers' Forum 2018 until 23 March 2018.
It is worthwhile to work as a teacher but also for networking with committed colleagues!
#dlforum18#EDchatDEhttps://t.co/ti85mkaDJw
Especially the conversations with readers is the essence you get out of blogging. This is what you really aren't looking for, aren't you? You share your vows in this and the feedback heels you grow as a professional.
Q4 Writing articles in a #blog helps you the most ❗️
You think a lot, reflect, learn and develop yourself a lot.
Writing in #Blog is not out. It its up to date
#EDchatDE
A6 One important way is: Follow those people whose contributions in the twitterchat you found interesting and worth reading.
#EDchatDE#JubileeEdition200
A6: I like using @participate for most Twitter chats! You can easily see a list of questions, resources, and people who joined the chat. You can also quickly follow them! https://t.co/UOtDP2R1eW#EDchatDE
A6 Most of my tweets this evening are scheduled with Tweetdeck since days before. So I can just read along comfortably without stress and answer here and there. #EDchatDE#JubileeEDition200
A6: To make lasting connections follow people from the chat, visit their blogs, retweet valuable things they share and comment on these resources! It's about the conversations throughout the week as well! #EDchatDE
A6 Follow each other. But more importantly: create lists in Twitter where you can stay in touch with other people on specific topics and areas of interest without losing track of what's happening.
#EDchatDE
#EDchatDE#babelfish#JubileeEdition200
A6: To make lasting connections follow people from the chat, visit their blogs, retweet valuable things they share and comment on these resources! It's about the conversations throughout the week as well! #EDchatDE
A6: Are you interested in a deeper conversation just send a direct message. There you can use more than 280 signs (up to 10,000?) for each message. #edchatde
A6 If you share the same (edu) interests, it’s easy. You follow each other & stay up to date.
The BEST thing then is to meet #irl - at edu events, conferences, …
You feel like you know your "Twitter family" even if you meet them for the first time 😌
#edchatde#JubileeEdition200
Q6: Follow people on Twitter. Ask real questions. Ask for favours. Help folks. Throw your ideas out there. Be willing to share your knowledge and your knowledge gaps. #EdchatDE
A7: I have joined a global collaboration project with sped ed students from six classes from the USA, Sweden, Finland, South Africa and Germany. Here is a short video of our project. https://t.co/WDRC1YbzV0 I also presented our project at #iste2016 in Denver #edchatde
A? Great Idea for International connections: #globalbookexchange@mshsimpson1 is ding an awesamoe job in connecting classes fromm 10 countries in one project #edchatde
A7: Erasmus+. They don't just send students abroad, they also have "Strategic partnerships". This program changed my life! I've worked (and feasted!) with colleagues from Germany, Sweden, Belgium, Estonia, Luxembourg, Catalan/Spain, Turkey. #EDchatDE
A7 I had international online experiences on eTwinning, the EU platform for school exchange - and of course on Twitter, some editions of #aussieED, lurking in #satchat or #edchat ;-)
#EDchatDE#JubileeEdition200
A7:I learned a lot from a Swiss lecturer and integrated it into our media concept. And now we "colaborated" in findig an program for video editing #EDchatDE
#edchatde A7: Connecting to schools outside German helped us to understand how digital resources are implemented in the classroom. We worked on pilot projects with international schools.
A8: I use Skype to connect with a teacher from Mexico, to prepare our project with her and my students. My German students learn Spanish with the Mexican students and reverse through Skype chats and calls. #EDchatDE
A7 One of the nice opportunities the internet holds for use are #webinars. Love them! Of course, I participated in some of @ShellTerrell’s 😍 and I also gave some myself (for a national & international audience).
#edchatde#JubileeEdition200
A8 In my seminar at @tudarmstadt, I keep having guests on video again and again who enrich the seminar and at the same time they show what has become digital very easy today. #EDchatDE
We should do one more. I loved it. Always. Since you are: 1. Very professional and organized 2. Just doing things 3. Always positive #EDchatDE#friendship
A8: Find several tips and resources for videoconferencing with other classes here, Video Conferencing with Schools! Tips and Resources https://t.co/6hAIOlYkWX#EdchatDE
A7: I want to invite all teachers who interested to create in small groups a Breakout together. Here is the blog article (in German). I am very happy if teachers from other countries can join us. https://t.co/jx7bDTWUQk#edchatde#Breakoutedu
#EDchatDE A7 We have been fortunate to make connections with Russia, Sweden, Canada, France, Israel and Denmark this year. We practiced geography skills finding each other then shared our culture with each other.
A7: Erasmus+. They don't just send students abroad, they also have "Strategic partnerships". This program changed my life! I've worked (and feasted!) with colleagues from Germany, Sweden, Belgium, Estonia, Luxembourg, Catalan/Spain, Turkey. #EDchatDE
A8: I use web conferencing tools to build better relations, to clarify details of a project, to discuss w partners and reflect on our progress #EDchatDE
A7: @pisa4u - global collaboration, goal-oriented, providing structure to protect-based learning, solving personal challenges in education. Our finalized teaching resource: 'Digital Tools Across The Curriculum': https://t.co/4Jj7EqZNqn#EDchatDE
My friend @RBFunkestra (I met him, when studying @BerkleeCollege in Boston) is Living in London. We are producing music using internet/Dropbox. And we try to set some live-gigs up in London. keep you posted. #EDchatDE We always use FaceTime to connect.
In reply to
@ShellTerrell, @RBFunkestra, @BerkleeCollege
A8: I used adobe connect in some projects like Lernreich 2.0. But not with teachers from other countries. Often timezone like shelly said is the problem to visit these chats #edchatde
A7: In this week I start a new collaborative project with classes with Germany, Finland and Norway. All classes use SMART Amp so that each student can add content to shared workspaces. #EDchatDE
A8 I also like working with #Slack (for free version). Do you know if there are #webconferencing tools to integrate! Do you have any experience?
#EDchatDE
