Q3 Do you assess performance skills large group, small group, or individually?
#elmused
JoelWestman1
Feb 7 @ 9:20 PM EST
A3: short answer: yes
#elmused
BraquetLiz
Feb 7 @ 9:21 PM EST
A3: some of each depending on the skill, mostly in large group or small groups due to the sheer number of students vs. time
#elmused
MrsLevenberg
Feb 7 @ 9:21 PM EST
A3: I do a bit of each!
#elmused
JoelWestman1
Feb 7 @ 9:22 PM EST
agreed, depends on skill. steady beat: easy 1:1. much harder for them to maintain as a whole group (guess which I assess more 0:))

A3 A little of all 3, I walk around when singing and playing. When I correct, I do it with small group as to not embarrass.

Feb 7 @ 9:22 PM EST
A3: a combination of all 3. Large numbers can inhibit individual assessments.

Q4: some live but recordings give me more time to process at another time. Use a voice recorder and walk around the room.
#elmused
JoelWestman1
Feb 7 @ 9:28 PM EST
a4, with seeing 630 or so kids every week, I would have too many recordings to listen to in a week. I go live only.
