One was the first class on my first day. I dont remember much about the rest of that day 30 years later, but remember that class period. (Plus they still remain one of my favorite classes of all time). The 1st ? I was asked was "What nationality is Cullen?" #bfc530

I remember one day last year, I had the kids doing some online research and recording the responses around the building - they had to find the posters in the hallways and write responses on them. One S said I was the best T ever. They enjoyed escaping class! lol #bfc530
Best Day Ever? I could try to think of some phenomenal moment from over the years, but I try to find "best moments" in every day. For me, the best part of each class isn't just the big learning moment, but greeting them at the door and checking in. #bfc530
In NJ, our schools are off on Thursday and Friday for the NJEA convention. So we have conferences Monday-Wednesday leading up to it. Tonight is the only night conference this week (we had one last week) #bfc530

She thanks me for making her a reader and showing her that reading can be fun.

Impossible to pick one best day from so many days of teaching. There are countless best days, all for different reasons. A lesson that went just as planned, an activity students were really excited about, one student understanding something they struggled with. #bfc530
#bfc530 The definition of "best" has been set by what happened the day before. :) But watching kids work more independently, earnestly, passionately has been an awesome experience. Not needing the teacher to pursue learning is the true goal.

Some of my best moments are with small groups- either tutoring or Afterschool Mathletes. I have more time to sit down and connect with those students! #bfc530

When a “disengaged” student did a project that demonstrated his knowledge obtained from outside of school. Every student in the class was amazed, they looked at him differently & respected him after that 👊🏻💪🏻 #bfc530
Our #OutdoorEd class had 3 beautiful days hiking & camping in @FrontenacPP this week. We are #RidgemontProud of their new outdoors skills, their teamwork and positive attitudes!

Last year one of my quieter students hit a 20 point shot in our review basketball game. Was the act academic, no, but the cheers the class gave to him & his throwing his arms up in victory and returning high fives was a great memory of what the clssrm community should be #bfc530

I guess this isn’t “in the classroom” but my best days are when my high school or middle school students call me when they are adults to share good news, ask for advice/help or just to catch up! Those moments make my heart happy! #bfc530
I don't know how to pick a best day. Is the one where the struggling reader finally found books they liked and began to read for fun? Or, is it the one where we spent the afternoon doing science that was messy & noisy but the learning was deep? I have had too many. #bfc530
Our hallways have names: Respect Lane, etc "make a left on Respect and head down to Polite. 3 doors on right. Record response 1". They had a blast. And after, we collected the posters and reviewed the responses in class. #bfc530
There are so, so many best days. But recently when I flipped feedback & every single student brought in a heavily revised second draft on time because they actually understood the feedback. That was magical #bfc530
Or when I leave at the end of the day knowing the service I delivered was as inclusive and without bias to the best of my professional and personal ability. #BFC530
My best day is always when i get to go to a classroom and sit and kust watch students be active learners. Kindergarten is one of my favorite places. #bfc530
As a teacher it is not always about days, but rather the moments ... they create a butterfly effect ... you never know how that one moment will affect that kid's life ... yes, teachers do that. We have the ability to change a kid's life every single day ...that's powerful #bfc530

#bfc530 I love to use #film to teach literary analysis. One day, when we were watching something, a #student turned to me, and said, "Oh, that's foreshadowing." When you see it "click"...there is nothing better.
When students said, “I never liked history before taking your class.” Or “Oh, now I understand why this is happening today.” It was those days teaching MS that I realized I had both built relationships and helped them make learning relevant and meaningful to their life. #BFC530

My favorite educator moment happened outside clssrm. My Dad & I were at a diner & I ran into a fmr stduent, now in college. He told my Dad, "Your son was the best teacher I ever had" Im glad that he got to see his efforts raising me has produced dividends for others #bfc530
The thing about #bfc530 that everyone is missing is that we are on the verge of runaway climate change and we need a complete re-think of the global economy to ensure a just society & avoid planetary catastrophe.
Same here. There are many times that others dont see what you see and even though it will benefit all, they would rather stay in their comfort zone and keep doing what they do even though it may not be a good. #bfc530

One moment always sticks out. It was the last day of school (5th grade) and one of my more quiet students walked up to me. With tears welling in her eyes, she said, "I'm really going to miss coming to school everyday and learning the way we learned in here." #bfc530

One of my best moments in teaching(so far): During Genius Hour last year, one S didn’t think anyone would want to hear his story about goat farming. After his presentation, several q’s shot his way and he was shocked. So much curiosity! It was beautiful. #bfc530
