Hello everyone! My name is Nadia. I serve as a Digital Learning Coordinator in the Cobb County School District. The best thing I did this weekend was surprise my grandma with a picnic! My brother, aunt, and cousin were also able to join.. #techtalkga
#TECHtalkGA A1 Leah, Cobb GA, Instructional Tech Coach/Webmaster... my 5 yo had Timmy the Turtle from his class this weekend... spent most of it trying to keep him safe from dog!
A1: Justin Mewborn ITS Vickery Creek Middle School Forsyth County. Watching UGA win the SEC with my 77 year old dad was priceless. Lifelong fan. #techtalkga
A1: Kenya Ransey, Instructional Technology Coach for Cobb County Schools. This weekend I went to a Christmas party and saw friends I hadn't seen in about a year, AND, i made peanut butter cookies! :) #TECHtalkGA
A1: Hello, friends! Cat, Director of Personalized Learning and Innovation (and Spreadsheets) for @JCSchoolSystem.
And we ALL know the best thing that EVERYONE did this weekend... #GoDawgs#TECHtalkGA
A1: Hi there! Jordann Aler, Innovative Learning Specialist, PGMS. Had a great weekend hosting brother and sister in-law watching the games. #TECHtalkGA
A2: The first time I digitized an assessment was my Spanish I + Spanish III final exam series in December 2009.
Yβall. Not having to make a dash for the scantron machine and not having to carry a ton of papers home was AMAZING. I still remember that feeling!!
#TECHtalkGA
A2: I love the ease of grading. I remember, some years back when I discovered that a @google form + @flubaroo would grade quizzes AND EMAIL THE RESULTS TO THE STUDENTS, my life changed forever.
#techtalkga
Hahahah! I knowwww!! All they did was rake the turf dirt at the end. I kept sending him positive vibes because we all know his job was riding on that *one* moment.
#IfYouTurfItLetHimWorkIt#techtalkga
I remember you! π And great to e-see you as well!
The immediate results thing was mind-blowing. And it also helped me find the spots my students needed extra help for which I suddenly had time to PLAN instead of grade for hours.
#TECHtalkGA
#TECHtalkGA A2: the faster the data arrives the more expedient the response of intervention or acceleration in instructional practices for students. Feedback power.
A3 Google Forms for assessments.
Otherwise, I try to use @GetKahoot or @quizizz for engagement. Regardless, use the right tool for the job. #TECHtalkGA

Hey #Techtalkga I wanted to introduce you all to our High School Principal in Elbert Co @JasonKouns1. This man is really pushing Digital Formative Assessment to our School District
Q3: @Getkahoot and @quizizz and Google Forms w/Flubaroo are all popular in my district. We also have All In Learning at MS/HS. I love @Flipgrid personally.
We #TECHtalkGA
A3. We use Schoolnet as a district for benchmarks and school based collaborative assessments. However, google forms are widely used for informative assessments #TECHtalkGA
YES!! This then drives your ability to offer quality differentiated and personalized learning to meet individual or group student needs.
#datadrivendecisions#techtalkga
AMEN!! That free time to actually plan for remediation & enrichment were life changing! #TECHtalkGA#tech
*Basically I'm famous... THE Cat Flippen remembers me!!!* π
A3: I love all of the different ways you can use Google Froms. I also love assessing content through creativity tools, once kids are fluent with the tool, of course. Scratch is a favorite! #TECHtalkGA
A3: From my current perspective I primarily use Google Forms. However, as a teacher and now as a presenter/director/whatever, I still love me some @Socrative.
As a language teacher, I also lived and breathed Quia. #TECHTalkGA
A3: I'm a huge fan of the Google Forms. What a great way to quickly differentiate and include ways to assess that you couldn't with paper and pencil. It's super flexible. . . #TECHtalkGA
Hey #Techtalkga I wanted to introduce you all to our High School Principal in Elbert Co @JasonKouns1. This man is really pushing Digital Formative Assessment to our School District
A3: Back in the day, my go-to was (in this order) Google Forms + @flubaroo, @GetKahoot, and @GRADECAM. Now that I work with more grown folks, I'm loving the use of @Flipgrid to gather great qualitative data. #techtalkga
A3: Since I focus on writing in my class @Seesaw has been my go-to tool. I assess using rubrics and their skills feature. Their new activities feature is also great for digital assessments. #TECHtalkGA
I"m also a big fan of @quizizz. It's fun and the developers seem like great folks. Also don't forget about having videos for formative assessment like @Flipgrid#techtalkga
Oh, gracious, how did I neglect to mention @quizlet? My old stuff is still there, somewhere! I loved Quizlet for Spanish and for music history! #TECHtalkGA

A4: Students with learning disabilities can benefit from these types of assessments. So many ways to provide students with options to individualized assessments to help students be successful #TECHtalkGA
A3 Google Forms for assessments.

I do! I am an adjunct at a local college & I use the built-in assessment tools ALL the time. Enter them 1x & I'm done, also grading is a cinch!
#TECHTalkGA
I love the power of students seeing each other's responses too! It offers a strong level of connectedness and authenticity that just using a digital quiz wouldn't offer. #techtalkga
So awesome to have admin join us! #TECHtalkGA, we know that our authority stems and grows from admin support!
Like and follow @JasonKouns1 to show your appreciation!

A4: I guess the most "non-traditional" application I have used would be in surveys for adults after a PL session or experience (like @edcampcobb --shameless plug, I know), leading up to a PL experience, or to crowdsource ideas. #techtalkga
#TECHtalkGA A4 sorry - got sidetracked... definitely gives students opportunity to use comfortable platforms, but more importantly accessibility options abound!

Aw, stop! βΊοΈ You just radiate friendliness and passion for education! Those are some of my favorite kinds of people! :)
Preach, by the way, on digital assessments giving us time to plan remediation. That is so often neglected! #TECHtalkGA
#TECHtalkGA A3: Balanced Assessment calls for Digital Tools. Those that quantify and those that qualify longitudinal student growth. Digits and Diamonds:Data and Portfolios
A4: As former media specialist it was a lot of the tools mentioned were great to share/gather information with teachers. It was also a great way to show them something new. #techtalkga
A5: I have always enjoyed video creation. It takes many levels of content knowledge and supports self-expression plus learning some essential digital skills and design. YouTube and WeVideo, for example!
#TECHtalkGA
A5. Simple conversations. Despite my love for tech and reliance on it for assessments, nothing can tell you more than talking with your students. #TECHtalkGA
A5: I have used Google Draw lately for students to label things - eye opening when they don't use the terms I just go through teaching or testing. #TECHtalkGA
A5: Hands down @mentimeter and @plickers. The latter were a mainstay in my classroom...in fact, I should dust those things off for use with adults soon. They'd love it! #techtalkga
Nontraditonal would be after not doing well on a quiz then having I don't know @JasonKouns1 break into a little @kennyrogers Love will turn you around then @quizizz meme #techtalkga
#TECHtalkGA A5 Can I deviate from tech? When dealing with teachers (and students too), sometimes the best non-traditional tool is conversation... did I just lose my tech card??
A5 (part 2): YES!! How could I forget that @TouchCastEdu offers an in-app quizzing feature as part of their interactive videos?! @MSPowerPoint also offers a quiz function as part of its Mix add-on too (though that's being absorbed into PPT). #techtalkga

Plus, @Flipgrid has so many updates on such a regular basis. They really listen to teacher and ambassador feedback on how to make their product even better. #techtalkga

#TECHtalkGA A5:kinesthetic activity is a wonderful non-traditional method of assessment. Can student skate a geometrical blueprint created formulaic first.
A5: @Flipgrid and simple apps for the Littles like @tellagami and @ChatterPixIt . You can often gain great insight into what they understand and what they have missed in just 30 seconds. #TECHtalkGA
SUCH a true statement! Digital assessment isn't just about our ease of use as the T - it's also about getting a better feel for what Ss know!
#TECHtalkGA
Great chat tonight, #TECHtalkGA! Thanks to all of you for joining in!
See you next week to talk tools and resources to model edtech integration in PL!
Thx to @Media_Barber & @DeniseHazlett for the suggestion!
And ironically itβs quite the opposite! Those of us with zero artistic skills can make beautiful Google drawings. Meanwhile our actual drawings still are quite horrific.
Exhibit A from a @crafty184 session back in the day. That was NOT Google Drawing! #TECHTalkGA
A5 (part 2): @Slidoapp is a phenomenal way to assess with polls quizzes, a backchannel, and more. It's built mainly for enterprise usage, but is school-friendly by letting you omit certiain wordy durds (if memory serves). #techtalkga
One of my coolest uses of a single Slide was actually to make a giant poster for a conference poster session. Great spacial flexibility and uses in Slides and Drawings!
#TECHtalkGA
Since y'all brought up drawing, I'll also add that the Paper App by @FiftyThree is a great digital drawing tool and it even lets you create quick, perfect shapes like triangles and circles. Plus, the UI is just gorgeous. #techtalkga

FOR SURE! I hate it when ppl assume that I'm all tech, all the time, just b/c of my title! I love a good F2F convo for anything I do! Nothing replaces a personal connection!

I have used it with PowerPoint only. @MsWillipedia said it has improved greatly, so itβs probably worth it to give it another shot and try it again. I know I will be! #TECHtalkGA

I last used it a few months ago for a pretty large meeting and everything went well on the @mentimeter side. We were using the word cloud function and it was so great to see the terms pop up in real time. Everyone was mesmerized. #techtalkga
