A1: Ideally students will be working productively in small groups on a variety of activities and the teacher will be rotating to different groups to facilitate learning.

A2: I use good old Pinterest for a lot of my resources. And the best resource is often other teachers who have found success. Elementary teachers are great resources for SCS, even for middle and high school teachers. #RCSTechChat

Q3: For classroom management purposes it is important for timing to be a priority and transitions to be smooth. What classroom management techniques can you implement to ensure students know what they are doing, where to go, and when to get there? #RCSTechChat
A3: The use of a timer is helpful when doing stations. Also, the teacher giving good instructions for transitions is imperative to helping students. It is a great idea to have a finish-up or make-up station available for students who may need more time.

A3: Students should be clear on expectations. I go over the rotations before we start, and I use a timer for me and for them. I position myself at all times where I can see the entire room, and students are not allowed to move from station to station until time's up. #RCSTechChat
I think it's geared more towards preschool and elementary kids. I think that there are some high schoolers on that level, but I think the software itself is too basic for them. #rcstechchat

A3 I introduce 1 station at a time in August. We practice roations the first couple weeks with morning tubs on each table. I manage the daily flow with Dojo. It's nice to press a button and not have to interrupt my flow to correct a student! #rcstechchat
I use music cues to get prompt them to move without me having to do anything. This takes a couple weeks of practice. I use @onenote to organize assignments and give the extended assignments to my early finishers. I have @classdojo up all times for discipline. #rcstechchat

Managing with @classdojo is so cool because they become conditioned to the noises. So if you give a bonk to one student then it gets everyone back on track. #rcstechchat

Student centered stations are not just about having fun, it is important that each station has a purpose for meeting the learning goal. A variety of activities keeps the learners engaged. What types of activities would lend themselves well to your content? #rcstechchat
A4: You can have a variety of stations. They can draw, trace, cut, color, complete a puzzle, build something, watch a video, complete a Quizziz or Kahoot. The possibilities are endless, and lend themselves to most any discipline. Just have a learning goal in mind. #RCSTechChat

A4: Our teachers create stations that are aligned to specific standard or weekly learning target. Each station lets a student watch, listen, make, write, film or practice a skill that is synced with their learning needs. #rcstechchat
Q5: The amount of work that students complete in stations may seem overwhelming to grade. How can teachers hold students accountable and make sure that students have mastered the standard being taught? #RCSTechChat
A5: Again, align with your learning goal. What do you want them to accomplish? That would be the main thing I graded. The rest of the work might just be a check for understanding. #RCSTechChat
