    A2: Students draw the map & the teacher is the compass. Students set the pace & design for learning. Teachers assist, monitor, provide feedback & help students connect with peers & experts inside & outside of the classroom. Traditional=Teacher as map, compass & captain. #3rdchat

    2/? Within those four choices there is still some flexibility. One of the options is to give a presentation using some props this can be done in front of me or in front of the class. One of my students this year took it a step further and made a short video on the iPad #3rdchat

    3/3 The student actually plans to pause the video at certain points to explain more in person. He’s planning to do this in front of the whole class and I’m quite excited to see it unfold. I am not certain that I would’ve thought of that format on my own. #3rdchat

    Have you tried an in-class flip. I do them during a station rotation. Students do the flipped activity, while I conference or hold small groups. Check out @Catlin_Tucker 's blog. Later, I will post her blog on the in-class flip if I can find it. #3rdchat #blinaction

    A7: Many Ss struggle with tests and essays. That doesn't mean they can't think or learn. Make room for portfolios, conferencing, observing conversations, presentations, video responses. Assessment should bring out the best in Ss, not dread the worst. #3rdchat
