thank you for the tip! Still trying to figure tweetdeck out. Using Participate Learning again tonight!
A1: Growth mindset! Giving students autonomy in their own education knowing it's okay to fail and learn from their failure.
Debbie, 6 - 8 Math from Northern Cal. Watching Olympic trials! !
A1: The motto I've lived with the last two years - I should never talk more than the students.
A1: Ss being active participants.
A1 Student centered learning through PBL.
A1: I believe that before any teaching or learning can happen, first relationships between Ts and Ss must be formed.
A1: Students owning their learning experiences.
Brian, HS ENG teacher and Instructional Coach in LA
A1 - Mistakes lead to growth.
A1 Ss learn more when they WANT to - buy in is everything
A1: I believe in the power of inquiry and the belief that kids learn best from social interaction to name two.
A1: STUDENT CENTERED! voice and choice
A1: For me it’s choice and personalization. Turning mistakes into iterations.
Yes miss_meikle, student ownership is HUGE! Maybe the biggest thing!
A1 Creativity needs to be honored and cultivated. Creative confidence is just as imp as R/W/M
a1 student inquiry and growth mindset
I agree. Student ownership is key.
Learning is a social experience! https://t.co/KGG19wwLGL
A1: I believe in the power of inquiry and the belief that kids learn best from social interaction to name two.
A1- To help Ss to be lifelong learners. I want Ss to question the norms (in a respectful way) & to be skeptical (It’s science)
A1: Creating meaningful relationships w/ Ss is the beginning for our role in the classroom as we learn the content together.
A1: students are extremely capable, if only we let them be.
A1: Letting students start class everyday reviewing concepts taught in the video they watched of my lesson https://t.co/Ms7Y1d8XL4
A1 Impact- John Hattie, ,
A1: My kids need to move, experiment, small groups are essential, & laughter & conversation
So true! https://t.co/LxhzAkkYEk
A1: I believe that before any teaching or learning can happen, first relationships between Ts and Ss must be formed.
Vous etes Francais aussi??? JK - my French is terrible!
I'm seeing a lot of tweets about student choice, empowering students, student centered on about pedagogy.
-----------------> Q2 is up next.
Watch for
-----> Q2 How does integrating technology support your pedagogical beliefs? How do you know it is effective?
-----> Q2 How does integrating technology support your pedagogical beliefs? How do you know it is effective?
A1: Student centered learning... Leads to engagement, leads to more learning https://t.co/5x6nWHfPLg
Q1 What pedagogical beliefs about teaching/learning do you value the most?
A2: When ss are engaged and want to continue to learn outside the classroom
A2: Ss feel engaged knowing they aren't using a standard textbook or only a novel. I use Google Forms for feedback
Q2: Tech provides a lot of options from which students can choose (like when it comes to choosing a project to create)
What do you look for to “measure" engagement? https://t.co/iApJTIQxdP
A2: When ss are engaged and want to continue to learn outside the classroom
A2: Also data- data in whatever form you have it will can show effectiveness.
A2: Students have my class videos available to them at anytime. They choose their pace, when they do it and what they do in class.
A2 In this day and age, we cannot meet our goals of personalized learning and meeting the needs of all students without tech
A2 PBL can get messy. Tech helps support student organization through long projects. I can give quicker feedback through tech.
A2: Technology provides avenues for multiple ways to show off knowledge, especially in projects. Ss have choice in presentation.
Q2 Tech sparks interest which in turn creates desire - like I said when Ss want to learn they will
A2: Ss afforded greater freedom to explore, push themselves. It shows in their engagement, focus, asking for more.
A2: Technology allows me to move easier from sage on the stage to guide on the side...can allow for smoother flow of GRR
A2: Tech also allows for much more S choice esp. for summative projects. https://t.co/WwbabuZ0An
Q2: Tech provides a lot of options from which students can choose (like when it comes to choosing a project to create)
A2,pt 2-I know it's effective when Ss are able to have conversations to me and others explaining concepts (and MAP scores show it)
Are they asking questions? Do they continue to research/learn after class?
A2: Tech allows Ss to tap into several forms of info. Ss can find form that works for them and LEARN!
A2: Tech allowed me to do what i could never do with pencil and paper with personalization..
A2- Tech helps ME create more engaging learning opportunities and helps Ss find other ways to learn the required information.
A2 Ss are empowered to select the tech format they want to use to develop ideas, collaborate, and even share their learning.
A2: when you are scholar-centered, they are able to choose and succeed w/the systems that enhance their learning.
Tech allows creative expression and collaboration.
A2 -- our lab is busy, loud, no assigned seating, singing, playing, learning, working together
definitely doing LESS group work next year.
Hi - David, Palo Alto, HS English teacher, writer, better late than never!
A2 Tech allows for other forms of creativity to be utilized. Like digit photography, videography, audio recording, digit draw etc
A2 -- tech is just another way we learn together
A2:Tech allows me to check for understanding easily and quickly in a variety of ways: great tools...
Singing!! I love it! https://t.co/dvZKjh5R0t
A2 -- our lab is busy, loud, no assigned seating, singing, playing, learning, working together
A2: With tech. Ss are able to dive deeper into topics, they can control the conversation of the classroom.
A1:Questioning, creating , designing, rehearsing, opportunities to empathize all great pedagogy as well
i always ask first - because it can distract -- but yep, we sing!!
And https://t.co/Sgl8L1HQLm
A2 Tech allows for other forms of creativity to be utilized. Like digit photography, videography, audio recording, digit draw etc
Yes and 3D modeling, building in Minecraft, designing with electronics, etc.
-----------------> Q3 is set.
Watch for
How has your idea of “edtech” changed over the past 5 years?
A2- to be honest, we don't always use tech in our computer lab -- sometimes we use paper/pencil, etc
I had a S create her human body organ systems in minecraft several years ago. LOVED it! https://t.co/KHIUpFt9Nm
Yes and 3D modeling, building in Minecraft, designing with electronics, etc.
A3: Tech used to be powerpoint (1 way communication). Now's it's more like Nearpod (2-way collaboration).
----->Q3 How has your idea of “edtech” changed over the past 5 years? https://t.co/CQSLOUM2ov
How has your idea of “edtech” changed over the past 5 years?
A3: 5 yrs ago, it had to be scheduled in the lab & today it's in every lesson
a3 Twitter=best professional learning, connections never possible before, device agnostic
A3: I am constantly having to explain that not all tech in schools is edtech…its instructional/learning focused
A1: We should teach students to: question everything, make something, share with someone.
Hello I think I'm a bit late, but I'm so glad to see that this group is up and working again! Been looking out for it!
A3: Tech has become so user-friendly and essential that Ts can no longer claim to be "not techy"
a3 never would have thought I could attend ISTE without really attending ISTE
A3 -- i talk less, much more is online, we collaborate beyond our classrrom, the room is no longer in rows
A3 tech used to be an overhead projector and vis-a-vis
A3 The power of tech for me has always been about PBL. However the devices have changed from video camera to ipod to iPad to more!
A3: Tech has not only become a collab effort, but an extension of how Ss think and lrn. It has given new ave to show understandg.
A3: Five years ago I thought edTech was something I just had to incorporate into my lessons. Now it's a part of everyday learning.
A2: Tech connects! Connects us to visual images people ideas creation tools opportunities to test our ideas more deeply understand
A3: Every kid in the room has a device!
A4: The biggest hurdle would be not being tech savvy teacher
A3 Tech used to be mainly T tools for creating lessons, organizing grades & work. Now Ss use the tech to show their learning-
A3: I feel EdTech = Ed. The Tech should be a given. Deeper change for me has been pedagogical shifts, mediated by tech.
A3: I took class at 10 years ago, project was on a grading system. Now we are looking at curriculum & more!
A3: I used to think edtech was just a projector and a document camera. Now with chromebooks and Schoology, it's a whole new world.
a3 what has changed in 5 years? Students from consumers of content to creators of content
A3- the most that has changed is the variety of options to do similar things & the acknowledgment that I don't have to know it all
A3 Tech has expanded for me. I am now learning about coding, Arduinos, engineering with electronics, 3D modeling, and makerspaces.
A3 - edtech was just computers in classrooms, now it is devices in hand & collaboration and sharing between Ss, Ts and parents.
A3: kids can now communicate without boundaries and work together to create and demo incredible learning
A3: used to mean showing a video or using a projector/smart board. now it means connecting and personalizing.
I think i took that class too! https://t.co/92mOJngoAS
A3: I took class at 10 years ago, project was on a grading system. Now we are looking at curriculum & more!
A3: I no longer fear it! I embrace the opportunity to think about appropriate uses. It is now a big line item in our budget! 😉
. Yes, it's helped us bridge the gap between what we learn and real life. It's become more relevant!
A-3 Edtech more about students USING tech, than teachers using tech.
A3: Integration of tech use in the CCSS really changed the way that I think about students using tech in the classroom.
-----------------> Q4 is coming very soon.
Look for tweet!
. It's more of a 2 way street. Ss and Ts!
----->Q4 In your opinion, what are the biggest hurdles that get in the way of more Ts integrating tech in their classrooms?
A3: 5 yrs ago did my masters project on responders, they're obsolete now!
Which CCSS conference was helpful to you?
Love the thought! https://t.co/gRMG9mTv39
a3 what has changed in 5 years? Students from consumers of content to creators of content
A4: A lot of time and being willing to fail. It also constantly changes, so Ts feel frustrated at times.
A3 - edtech for me has been using Twitter for PLN and becoming a Google Educator! Never would have happened 5yrs ago!
A-2 All students need access to the latest technology, regardless of SES!
I didn't go to a conference, but spent a lot of time working with the CCSS in creating curriculum for my district.
A4: FEAR! fear of tech, fear of what Ts don't know, fear of looking foolish, fear of the unknown FEAR
A4: Ts who feel they need to be experts on tech or apps prior to implementing it in the classroom...and they are overwhelmed
A3: tech is as old as paper & pencil, sticks & stone walls. Don't drown yourself or students in every flashy new app.
A4: I think the biggest problem is teachers making excuses in why they can't or how it won't work in their classroom.
A4 I still think access is a big issue. There are still schools with limited tech.
https://t.co/no8AjnaPYT
A4: Fear. Fear of what ss will do, that the tech won't work, that T won't know how to fix it, fear of failure.
A4: effective professional development. Needs to be a commitment of school. Proud it will be at !
A4- themself & the time argument -- it is an easy surface-y argument that they often can get away with 1/2
A4: A lot of us are afraid of change or afraid of failure if we try something new that doesn't work.
A4: Again, feel the biggest deal isn't about tech, it's about pedagogy. We need to be changing of Ts.
A4: Ugh.. so many teachers are afraid of the technology or privacy issues that they won't see techs benefits.
yes!! you're so right! I can better personalize to my teaching style now too!
YES! once a T realized it's okay to say 'I don't know, tell me when you find out' the T then becomes empowered!
A4: I see Time and PD/Support and things T need!
A4: Lack of resources either for PD or devices or network.
A4: Ts have fear and lack of time and understanding on how tech will help them.
A4: Lack of technology, poor Internet connection, ....
A4- but the real reason, i think, is the fear of looking inadequate in front of their students 2/2
Thankfully we are focused on the pedagogy behind tech use. Not the flashy stuff. That comes and goes. Pedagogy stays.
Was just typing the same thought!
a4 Feeling like Ts need to know more than students, not possible anymore https://t.co/3tcfmUS7EX
A4: Ts who feel they need to be experts on tech or apps prior to implementing it in the classroom...and they are overwhelmed
A4: distractions! my Ss had iPads this year and admitted it was so much easier to be distracted by all they could do on the iPads
A4- i dont think we can hand them a device & say "go succeed" - i think they need support
Right! I'm totally ok not being the expert and allowing the Ss to learn the tools.
Technology won't make a bad lesson good; only disguise bad behavior or keep students busy https://t.co/pJ5fpPtlKi
Thankfully we are focused on the pedagogy behind tech use. Not the flashy stuff. That comes and goes. Pedagogy stays.
A3: I've worked with teachers who don't know basic keyboard commands (Ctrl+C comes to mind) and feel they are too old to learn.
I think this is why education and experience is so key as teachers help them navigate this!
A4 1)"Why shld I change if I do ok alrdy” 2)”I don’t have engh devices” 3) “I don’t know how to use it & need more time to learn”
Yes! That's the key when it comes to deciding which tech you WILL and WILL NOT use!
A4: Ts need to realize that it's okay to deviate from the scripted programs our districts buy. We are the experts!
I love having a T ask his/her Ss to figure out a problem or issue with an app! They can do it WAY faster! https://t.co/JRtL8hdip1
YES! once a T realized it's okay to say 'I don't know, tell me when you find out' the T then becomes empowered!
A-1 My belief that ALL students are capable of learning has kept me going on many tough days over the decades!
A4 Ss not having reliable internet access outside of school. Next year we are 24/7.
Bad teaching is bad teaching. Tech or not. A digital worksheet is still just a worksheet.
yes, Ss then see that they have something to contribute and it is valued.
So true! Assignments still need to be engaging and meaningful! https://t.co/sZDh1lqYgU
Bad teaching is bad teaching. Tech or not. A digital worksheet is still just a worksheet.
A4: They equate it with gadgets and apps instead of purposes and outcomes. Inconsistent infrastructure is an issue too
A4 Some teachers may not see the relevance or benefits tech adds to the learning experience.
Integrating tech is a good conversation starter to review pedagogy and best practices.
Megan from in San Diego jumping on a bit late currently in Kansas not able to sleep!
This is hard…if internet is a util, where is the responsibility of the school? https://t.co/H4HNE56rSx
A4 Ss not having reliable internet access outside of school. Next year we are 24/7.
-----------------> Q5 is up next.
Look for@gbelleau tweet!
-----> Q5 How might we help more Ts integrate tech in their classrooms?
-----------------> Q5 is up next.
Look for@gbelleau tweet!
A4: If I have to push a heavy chromebook cart to my room and it takes 20 minutes to get all of the students connected.. problem!
A5: Mentoring programs for teachers helping teachers. Tech slams, PD that is useful and teachers sharing ideas.
A5 - Admin should encourage their tech-savvy Ts to lead workshops to the staff.
A4: What are the biggest hurdles to teachers integrating more effective pedagogy in their classrooms?
These are great https://t.co/ACh7iilK0W
A5: Mentoring programs for teachers helping teachers. Tech slams, PD that is useful and teachers sharing ideas.
And how the tech is being used. Can't just be substitution or augmentation all the time
A5: Model lessons. Show relevance. Demonstrate effectiveness.
A5: Encourage, support, and excite them to try something new tomorrow.
A5: Give more time for tech PD. I had 20 minutes on last inservice day - not enough time!
I know, my class piloted. Not reasonable to have a sixth grader hanging out at Starbucks on a school night for wifi.
A5- they need to be shown possibilities & how tos & instead ofs & new ideas (again & again)
A5 Make it the “cool” thing for Ss to use so they want to learn. They tell other Ts & it spreads
A5: We tried teacher-led PD cohorts. Weekly meetings paired with release time to have TL go in to classes to help Ts implement
A5: Invite other T and admin in. Make it easy for others to ask you. Seek out others who do it well.
While I don't disagree, one can't expect tech-savvy Ts to do more. They are 1's who could be overwhelmed. https://t.co/UqZU2xep84
A5 - Admin should encourage their tech-savvy Ts to lead workshops to the staff.
A5: More TOSAs! lol Having own school Ts lead simple and effective PD instead of always outsourcing.
A5: Be willing to help Ts integrate an app into a lesson.
a5 Next year, rolling out 1:1 with a digital leader and digital learner at each school
A5: ditto what has said. Empower teachers to teach & inspire! https://t.co/2qItpb7C2V
A5 - Admin should encourage their tech-savvy Ts to lead workshops to the staff.
A5: Reliable Internet. Many Ts find it frustrating the tech is spotty. Don't want to give it a try. Districts need to be committed.
A5- admin needs to support giving them freedom to journey from written curriculum & experiment w/ a new way
gotta trade one thing for another! https://t.co/rRpYVK5yPa
While I don't disagree, one can't expect tech-savvy Ts to do more. They are 1's who could be overwhelmed. https://t.co/UqZU2xep84
A5 - Admin should encourage their tech-savvy Ts to lead workshops to the staff.
A-5 Need coaches to plan & co-teach in the moment with teachers. "Just in time learning" Go beyond the typical "trainings & PD"
Hi! Elem principal in Costa Mesa, jumping in late. Great topic tonight! A5: model, mentor, observe, encourage Ts to take risks
A5: I teach full time, 5 preps and I was expected to train the t's at my school. It did not happen.
But wouldn't a tech-savvy teacher replace staff meeting time with a fun 20 minute demo?
A5 I love how my edtech coach hels me see how to use the tools available.
Yes, I wish that was true :) but usually it ends up being one more thing piled on an already busy teacher. https://t.co/ByMlj2N2xb
gotta trade one thing for another! https://t.co/rRpYVK5yPa
While I don't disagree, one can't expect tech-savvy Ts to do more. They are 1's who could be overwhelmed. https://t.co/UqZU2xep84
A5 - Admin should encourage their tech-savvy Ts to lead workshops to the staff.
And Ts need to feel confident in what they are teaching. No confidence = following a bad program. https://t.co/m8zh44paBI
A5- admin needs to support giving them freedom to journey from written curriculum & experiment w/ a new way
A5: As an admin, offered to cover classes so Ts could observe other Ts...also willing to go into classes to help w/ tech/app intro
A-4 Time for planning (paid!)
A5- somehow they have to return to the joy of why they chose teaching in the first place - the fun of learning
Ha, yes most likely but still requires planning, preparation, etc. https://t.co/ZT0mzq9E1v
But wouldn't a tech-savvy teacher replace staff meeting time with a fun 20 minute demo?
A5: Schools/Districts need to lead the change of so peer coaching can go viral. Anyone can have something good to share.
A5- Give them time, or plan time for them to get familiar with the tech. And have strong peers available thelp w/o pressure
A5 I have to agree with those saying to have a tech coach to help co-plan and co-teach. Brings personalized PD to Ts.
Love this idea! What if every interested teacher got just 20-30 minutes a week... https://t.co/iEguBe3Vuo
A5: As an admin, offered to cover classes so Ts could observe other Ts...also willing to go into classes to help w/ tech/app intro
I did PD after work all year last year - I have never worked longer, harder hours...can't keep up this pace forever!
A5: Follow the same model we would with ss. Give teachers the time they need. For some it takes longer
YES!!! So agree with this. We are each other's best resources.
A-5 Encourage & celebrate risk taking. "Failure" is part of the process. Highlight the journey & empower T's to try
What % of your Ss have wifi at home? Our daily nonfiction literacy tool is built on kids being online.
And it gives me time to connect/ build relationships w Ss...I've also introduced tech while covering classes!
A5: I helped my K teacher to learn Seesaw. I did a lesson with the kids for her, she learned about the app & applied it to her Ss
A5: personalized professional development so teachers can be met where they are with technology needs and concerns.
That sounds like a lot on one person! https://t.co/5nUAfChJfS
A5: I teach full time, 5 preps and I was expected to train the t's at my school. It did not happen.
A-5 Have mentor teachers (your district's equivalent) come in to classrooms and guest teach a tech savvy lesson - warts and all!
My district said they would hire a Tech TOSA - no job posted yet.
Yes! We talk about personalized learning for ss and Ts need the same.
approximately less than 25%
- we have lucked out where teachers have come to me to assist with creating meaningful PDs!
My district posted for 2 years w no applicants...
I think on-site tech coaches may be better since they can spend more time building relationships with Ts
This seems like the biggest hurdle for Ts. We have to be willing to show some grit if we want our kids to do the same
No coaches at all or just not tech coaches?
A5: It'd be ideal if each school could have 1-2 iCoaches to help staff with incorporating technology in their classrooms.
---------------------> Prepare for Q6 from
I agree! Tap into the passions of the staff!
I said that to the admin that was writing our LCAP. He said it was up to the principal to fund.
Hey - They're talking about you! https://t.co/7ZlorsIMw2
A5: It'd be ideal if each school could have 1-2 iCoaches to help staff with incorporating technology in their classrooms.
We have meeting times scheduled in for “some" PD time. But it’s only 2 times a year- Ts need more support https://t.co/TT0Nl8zLDC
While I don't disagree, one can't expect tech-savvy Ts to do more. They are 1's who could be overwhelmed. https://t.co/UqZU2xep84
A5 - Admin should encourage their tech-savvy Ts to lead workshops to the staff.
hope they get it posted soon!
Someone who knows the school culture and Ts will be more successful
Completely understand! We had 4 diff. teachers lead a separate PD once a month for a total of 4 sessions. https://t.co/obI2HDTZOg
I did PD after work all year last year - I have never worked longer, harder hours...can't keep up this pace forever!
-------------> Q6
If you could tell the CDE one thing about Edtech what would it be?
It helped a lot w/ time but still it is the same ppl always doing it. https://t.co/I3leuegVGb
Completely understand! We had 4 diff. teachers lead a separate PD once a month for a total of 4 sessions. https://t.co/obI2HDTZOg
I did PD after work all year last year - I have never worked longer, harder hours...can't keep up this pace forever!
A5: Start small with those Ts that are interested. Interest & buy-in will grow, let Ts take ownership
Busy writing.
Almost missed this.
👋🏽
Education Consultant
Especially since school starts on August 8.
A6: All schools need to be 1:1 in some way shaper or form.
This is exactly what we did at my site.
None at all! It's terrible & so needed! Districts around the country have this & not us
A6: Start edtech early with PreK/Kinder...get them access and PD for ECE educators.
Absolutely! How do we make this the norm in education?
A6: All schools need to have adequate tech needs in order to produce Ss who can compete with schools who have ample tech resources
A5- i had to stop working w/ the masses & work 1:1 w/ tchrs & then let them share as the "guru" -totally changing campus tech vibe
Escondido has done well with coaches and TOSAs and it has really made the difference.
We have 4 Ed Tech Coaches for 8 comprehensive high Schools. I think they are spread pretty thin https://t.co/W6Fa9Eh8dy
A5: It'd be ideal if each school could have 1-2 iCoaches to help staff with incorporating technology in their classrooms.
I asked to meet with the director of ED Tech in DC on Wednesday. What would you say to him?
Soinds interesting. Ss access in English, Ps in Spanish...
I think it can definitely be done but it comes down to priorities of districts and making schools futureready.
Q6: The internet MUST be made available to ALL children everywhere.
A6: Ts need paid time for planning. Some districts do this and others don't. Sadly, it always comes down to $.
a6 Of course funding, but something specific: Need a more up to date interface for SBAC testing. No more dual scrolling screen.
We are lucky enough to have 2 coaches per school. Six schools our district have 12 coaches.
A6: $$$ funding for all schools for equipment, planning, and PD!
A6: This blog post contains a link to a short survey so you can actually tell the CDE directly! https://t.co/PJVKv7F6sX
A6: , assists w/individualizing scholar support & achievement.
A6 I'd tell the CDE to advocate for equality through free wifi for all
Love that PD has been added. So often that is the first thing forgotten or cut.
A6 Perhaps, since it has been brought up a lot here 2night, help support quality tech coaching. Help fund site based coaches
My school has no designated coach other schools in the d have 1 or 2 with 1 release period.
🙋🏻iWant to do that BIve applied in the past. Pls have Admin reach out to me as an Independent Consultant.
A6: Paid time with facilitated and intentional planing so that Ts don't feel their time is wasted https://t.co/KUK6MwUCJk
A6: Ts need paid time for planning. Some districts do this and others don't. Sadly, it always comes down to $.
California Department of Education.
A6: Tech is not an add-on, nor does a device in every kid's hand = integration. Take seriously the implementation.
Are they full time coaches? or do they have S duties as well? https://t.co/jccHlHRYxO
We are lucky enough to have 2 coaches per school. Six schools our district have 12 coaches.
No student duties at all. They are full time coaches and dedicate the whole school day to being an iCoach.
ha!! Should have known that one
Totally agree! They need to know the culture, needs of the T & Students.
A6: allot $ specifically to allow Ts to get out of theor rooms to see how other teachers are using tech. See it, love it, do it
A6: Ts need personalized PD and money for proper devices.
A5: A Well thought out plan to execute EdTech + what indicators to look for to judge its success + longevity.
Great idea. https://t.co/VPyHZlcrqp
A6: allot $ specifically to allow Ts to get out of theor rooms to see how other teachers are using tech. See it, love it, do it
Wow! That would be awesome!
A6: equity indeed! some type of partnership between cities, industry, and education needed to get affordable internet to all homes
My district has refused to pay for any PD (conferences) and we have NO coaches in the district
A6 Purchasing a "software program" or new curriculum with digital tools is NOT effective tech integration.
A-6 To get more teachers to sit at the table with them & talk Ed Tech. Then come visit schools more to see
A6 - not sure the CDE would listen to me - i work at a private Christian school but I would suggest more HANDS ON PD

A6: equity indeed! some type of partnership between cities, industry, and education needed to get affordable internet to all homes
A6 give Ts more release time to learn about how to implement tech
It would depend on ClassRM objectives + how it intersects with .

A6: equity indeed! some type of partnership between cities, industry, and education needed to get affordable internet to all homes
. Thanks. Our district provides for learning rounds, but it would be awesome for rounds focused on tech.
YES! I am thankful for that! I go to conferences on my own too
What an incredible, 'out of the box' solution! https://t.co/KX8ZNNIygQ

Yes I have to figure out a way to get PUSD to see that need. Maybe we can brainstorm!
District Personnel are the ones who need PD on what indicators. Or better give Ts the reigns to determine what is best.
or putting ipads or document camera in every teachers hands

. I think would respond, “There’s no box!”
My district really needs to listen to t's. It is very top down!
Not all districts have buses. My district got rid of them several yrs ago. but yes, Internet is needed.
----->Q7 If you had $5000 to use for edtech in your classroom, what would you do?

A7: is a virtual charter. I'd love additional resources to enhance collaboration tools amongst our scholars.
Whatever solution works in a given area! But pressure should be on Comcast, AT&T et. al. to do their part.
A7: Use it towards Rent. J/k.
A7- I would by Chromebooks for my class
No, but I enjoy it and refuse to be held back by an unsupportive district. I go b/c I love it and get energized!
A7: VR headsets! (We already have chromebooks for each student:)
A7: Go completely 1:1 with devices (iPads) so students always have access to various apps and browsers. Invest in a few Macs.
A7: Ask Ss what they wanted to have and probably buy some powerstrips
A7: I want a LED glass whiteboard where students (and I) could record videos and upload them for others. https://t.co/73naSh3tIR
I have tried in my district for the past few years. I have spoken to admins, school board members.
A6: PD + few devices for my kids with none to take home. You can do a lot with a little if you know how...

A7: maybe some good audio/video recording devices for podcasts, short films.
A7: Buy all the training! Tech w/o T training and support can be a big waste of $$

Yes! and if the training involves good pedagogy it will last a lot longer than the technology.
🤔iWonder if that requires more💰 funding or just more research.
A7: PD would be it and maybe time to spend really studying & rethinking learning…we write papers to demo learning…what other way?
Aren't Mac Airs a lot more expensive than Chromebooks?
Systems, such as , where scholars can virtually connect in an engaging platform.
