#worldgeochat is a weekly chat focused on teaching geography and global studies. Chats vary between geography specific topics as well as general teaching and education topics. ALL are welcome in worldgeochat!
Hey #worldgeochat, our friend @teachcaudill will make the Archive and send it out to the DM group (if you aren't in that and want to be let me know).
I'm going to need to really read through the archive to see all the things I missed!
A4: Talk to my students about the value of community service and the difference they can make locally. Those opportunities could lead to some great connections and inspire them. #worldgeochat
I think connecting it back to things happening locally is such a great idea! Ss need to realize that water isn't just an issue in Africa! I know our friends at @h2oschools have more resources too.

Q4: Have Ss do more than research @Kiva during my micro-entrepreneur unit. Would like to donate money, choose people to give the money to, etc. and collect shoes again for @WaterStep#worldgeochat
Hey! Emily from WV. I am working with middle school students on Human Rights Education in the ELA classroom. The first step is knowing their rights. Then addressing issues of rights being infringed upon. #TeachingIsActivism#worldgeochat
A4 UGH so far behind. #SDGs are a great place to start, but I think students helping to create awareness on their own school campus is an attainable goal between now and the end of the school year. No reason why we couldn't all help Ss be more aware of a #SDG issue #worldgeochat
Last year, I simply exposed students to the annual, local water ban and the reasons behind it. Helps to show that water is an issue everywhere, even if in less significant ways. #worldgeochat

https://t.co/Ac5RFDPk3L A4 One thing students can always do is to find a small project at school that could benefit some part of the school community, from building culture to raising money for shelves for books in the student bathrooms (one of my student's ideas). #worldgeochat

Q4
You still have time this school year.
What is ONE thing you're willing to do to help students take action before the end of the year?

Oh! I missed that the move to 5:30PST and 30 minutes was a new permanent move. I thought that was just a couple of special times. I'll have to make sure to remember that :) #worldgeochat
