Hello #Teachpos
Melissa, 7th Grade Science from Central NY.
I love so many things about my job. The best part is sharing the amazing world of science with them everyday!.
Hi! I am Grace from Illinois, and I teach ELA middle school students. Oh, there are so many endless reasons for teaching at my school, but one of the main reasons has to be the close community atmosphere with a wonderful support system. :) #Teachpos
Ray from Rhode Island here. 7th Grade Math Teacher. @TeachPlusRI Policy Fellow and #FuseRI Classroom Coach. Check out #edchatri at 8pm EST right after this chat. We will be talking about teacher preparation. #teachpos
A1: Relationships with students and commitments to trying new things. I worked hard to build relationships with my students and said "Yes" to a lot of things when my mind was saying "No" out of a fear of failure. #teachpos

A1 This year I set the goal of implementing growth mindset and reflection purposefully into my classroom. It wasn't a homerun, but it was a solid base hit. I will knock it out of the park next year

#TeachPos As I reflect on my past year, in my role as a Professional Learning Specialist, I would give ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️to my work about designing a #mindful classroom & cultivating #selfcare in our Educators
#teachpos A1- I would give my students 5 stars for being great guinea pigs. With three months left in the school year, I completely stopped teaching math in front of the class and only taught through video, playlists, and @goformative. They were with me every step of the way!

A1: Definitely having to shift a fixed mindset with regards to classroom structure to be more student-centered and inquiry based. In the end, we were successful. Our Lab won a national spotlight award from @SmartLab_tweets. #teachpos

A1: Becoming a more positive person, helping Ss who were struggling readers fall in love with books, discovering @dbc_inc authors & their books, expanding my PLN through participating in twitter chats& most definitely building a stronger bond with @khoggardGRT#teachPOS
A1: I think the one thing I would give 5 stars to is giving my S’s the ability to redo work and grown from past mistakes. The relationships and knowing I had their back was huge. #Teachpos
Agreed! I did a lot of experimenting with my kiddos this year. Often it was prefaced with "I saw this cool thing on Twitter!" They loved that I was learning new things like them. Some things failed and some were successful. We had a lot of fun! #Teachpos

Last year, my colleague and I created a nonfiction unit with Malala Yousafzai's memoir. Creating the annotation packets and discussion questions enlightened our 6th graders with life concepts to ponder about. That's ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐! #teachpos

#teachpos A1 Being able to have our students visit 10 different countries this year via Skype, Hangouts and FaceTime. Great opportunity to learn geography skills and share culture.
Meeting 1 on 1 with all 150 Ts at my school to find out what they love most about the school, what they would do if they were me and what I should know about them. #teachpos
A2 I believe in student self-regulation as a goal. I want my students to become more self-motivated and create learning opportunities for themselves while I act as a guide and partner. #teachpos
A2: Moving 1:1 next year I have many. I want to apply concepts to flip my 6th grade classes next year. Personally, I'd like to see #waledchat and Edusations grow as well. #teachpos
A2: my goal this year is to implement small group rotations so that I can meet with my S’s and do more small group instruction instead of whole class.. no joke this is the one thing I’m afraid of failing at, #teachPOS
#teachpos A1 Putting together cultural conversations. Spoke with a class in Argentina 🇦🇷 about gender inequality & a class in Monterrey Mexico 🇲🇽 about current issues. Great opportunity for our Ss to answer questions and learn to agree to disagree.
#teachpos A2-I would like to have my Ss do more of their own goal setting next school year. I also want my Ss to track their progress on those goals with @seesaw. In general, my Ss need to be more aware of where they have been and where they are going in math.

Kristen here from PA. Sorry I’m late. I was at an amusement park and just got in the car. In other news, you are never too old for Pop rocks!!! #Teachpos
A2: Oh, I would love to continue my PLN and be part of the twitter educators! I am working on a few grants and articles that I want to publish. Hopefully, I could expand my professional and scholarly opportunities to increase awareness of educational equity & policy. #Teachpos
#teachpos A2 To continue to build our primary source speakers list. Over the past 5 years, we have had many share their stories with our students. Mark Goodman was the first in 2013. Always looking to add new people each year. Makes history relevant!
A2: I want to take the positivity from last year & add on determination. Determination to: take more risks, not allow others negativity to bring me others down, encourage Ss & Ts to do the same & never give up, keep up with my blog, push myself in ways I’ve never done #teachPOS

A2: Would love to move up the ladder within school leadership. Waiting on one opportunity. If it is a closed door, we make the most of the current situation and hope another door, somewhere, will open. #teachpos
A2: tap into the strengths of those around me to solidify a strong academic program built upon an exemplary Social and Emotional Learning foundation #teachpos

A2 Incorpate more tech, increase awareness of social emotional needs of gifted & 2E learners, and establish some #globalcollaborations! Continue to seek out and find the very best to join the #champforkids bus! 🥊#teachpos
A1: first half- station teaching and collecting data comparing whole group and small group instruction. Second half- taking risks and fixing ss a day in what we do and how we do it. #teachpos
A2 pt2: I’m also creating a way to engage my S’s love of reading and incentivizing things based on my classroom theme (Disney) and a book that gave me the idea through a game #teachpos
A3: Doing some action research for a grad course on flipped learning. I've also started to design some units for the start of the year to experiment. I'm scheduling people for Edusations and continuing to think of Q's for #waledchat#teachpos
#teachpos A3 - I am going to try to be more intentional with goal setting and #growthmindset with my Ss at the beginning of the year. I am thinking of doing a whole begging of the year playlist to get kids up and started with both things from Day 1.
A2 My immediate goals are to hopefully be selected to continue being a @mieexpert and also applying to become a @SkypeClassroom Master Teacher. #Teachpos
A2: I have a new role this upcoming school year at my school. I'm the new Instructional Technology Coordinator. My goal is to be build strong relationships with the school staff so I can help them achieve their goals. #teachpos
A2~ learn more about infusing instructional strategies to a diverse group of Ss that may come from/with a history of trauma ... also better balance w:home & school life & better merging the two 😊 Total work in progress ❤️ #teachpos
A3: A goal without a data is just a dream...I plan to create timelines to stay on schedule, and tell my PLN my goals so they can keep me accountable. #teachpos
A3: Use weekly meetings with key stakeholders to return to each of the goals. Keep hitting them regardless of the distractions that will undoubtedly arise. #teachpos
A3: taking small steps and making sure I plan how I want my rotations to go. Also being okay when it doesn’t work. With the book incentive I am making sure to hype it up with my S’s and give positive feedback more often.. like small notes or video feedback via @flipgrid#teachPOS
A3: I'm writing a plan with implementation dates and Ss surveys. I'm also including the student-led classroom goal as one of my professional indicators on my evaluation. #teachpos
#teachpos Thanks for the great chat!!!
Don't forget to jump over here in a few minutes and join me at #edChatRI! We will be talking about teacher preparation. Hope to see you there!
Evening All! High School English teacher from rural Virginia. I ❤️ that every day is a new experience in teaching- new challenges, new successes, unending possibilities for innovations and “do overs”. #TeachPOS
A2 - Work to change S's perceptions of what are good study habits...getting them away from rereading and moving toward retrieval practice, spaced practice, dual coding, etc.
#teachpos
A3 accountability through my #PLN and the Ts and Ss I’m working with! I am already looking to begin some planning toward the global collaboration and I will trust that my #champforkids fam will tell it to me straight when I’m not pushing myself! #teachpos
A1 5 stars for all the opportunities my Ss had this year including @Flipgrid Bus Tour visit, @Newsela visit, numerous @SkypeClassroom activities. All these brought the world to our classroom. #Teachpos
