It's Go Time! Welcome to #EdCoChat Tonight we are talking professional learning. Please share your name and a recent professional learning activity you participated in or led at your school.
Kelsey here! Recent professional learning activity I am leading is a #twitterchallenge for @ryanelemsocial to help connect teachers to their professional and personal learning networks #EdCoChat
Hello, I'm back into # chats since I'm on fall break. 2 great PD's for me work reviewing for EdReports and Twitter Math Camp. Loved the "community" #edcochat
A1: I love #Edtechteam summits w/ Google. So much choice in learning & high energy. ..and my favorite learning comes from connecting with others at the summits. I learn best from hearing other's stories & experiences #EdCoChat#inspired
A1: For me, the best professional learning I’ve been a part of included hands-on/practical experience, relevancy and I left with something I could implement tomorrow. #EdCoChat
A2: If you are in @JeffcoSchoolsCo I cannot recommend Justin Houck and his assessment team’s deep data dive enough for your staff. One of the most powerful learning sessions I’ve ever been in. #EdCoChat
A3: This is definitely an area for improvement for me. In the past I've used Google Forms, or some sort of formative exit ticket during staff meetings. I've collected conversational feedback during the coaching cycle as well. #lookingformoreideas#EdCoChat
One way is to give teachers opportunities to learn from each other. Promote choice and teacher leadership. The answers often are right there in your building. #EdCoChat
Bonus A: Make professional learning interest-based. For example, when I give tech PD, I want Ts to leverage tech to demonstrate their own strengths and interests. Give choice in how they access the learning and choice in how they demonstrate. #EdCoChat
Thanks @CJCain7 for the thoughtful Qs around professional learning. And thanks to my husband @TruthTheorem for putting kids to bed during #broncosgame so I could participate in #EdCoChat
