I have a few. First and foremost Mr Behson my HS computer programming teacher for letting me experience #stuchoice long before I realized it was a thing. And also @HeinemanTech and @WAMSBTSD for believing in and supporting my vision to bring #Gamedesign to #wams#edtechbridge
A1: I'm also thankful for my 7th and 9th grade science teacher, who happened to be the same person, Ms. Hattachell. I also was her teacher helper my senior year. She was hilarious and made learning fun. :) #EdTechBridge
that sounds like an awesome app. It is so important to share gratitude but especially for teenagers, it is not so easy to do that. I'm glad you guys built that app and I'm excited to look into it #EdTechBridge
I am so grateful for so many, but first up is my wife @patterson7789 , a vice principal who just keeps supporting every good and ridiculous idea I throw out there and models humility and kindness. #edtechbridge

We make/sell cookie mix jars & 100% goes to holiday meals for local families in need. 1st year=200+ jars/40 meals. Last year=800 jars/200 meals. But this year? We made 2000 jars = 560 meals (approx. 4,000 people!) If you’re local & would like to help, PM me! #edtechbridge
Q3: November is also a great time to gather together with family, friends, and colleagues for volunteer activities.

Q3: November is also a great time to gather together with family, friends, and colleagues for volunteer activities.
What are some things ou are doing in your local community to pay it forward? #edtechbridge
A3: I currently work together with @learningcodeyvr to teach coding to teenagers & kids. It is so important to bring these IT skills to our local communities. I'm learning a lot how to set up these workshops because I want to take this concept into refugee camps. #edtechbridge
Q3: November is also a great time to gather together with family, friends, and colleagues for volunteer activities.
What are some things ou are doing in your local community to pay it forward? #edtechbridge
A3: Tonight I stopped at ShopRite for 1 thing. Police officers were standing outside (& it’s cold) collecting for a holiday food drive. I came out with 3 full bags that I donated to their food drive - plus the 1 item I went in for. #BIGideaKind#edtechbridge
A3: The most valued #kindness is simply time. So I have changed all my #traveling plans to spend time with family & be in town for my nephew's birth. Also spent time singing with the #homeless, supporting local #artists, & exchanging ideas with #educators. #edtechbridge
Q3: November is also a great time to gather together with family, friends, and colleagues for volunteer activities.
What are some things ou are doing in your local community to pay it forward? #edtechbridge

Q3: November is also a great time to gather together with family, friends, and colleagues for volunteer activities.
What are some things ou are doing in your local community to pay it forward? #edtechbridge
A3: Tutoring students. I confess, as much as it's helpful to the students, now that I'm out of the classroom it secretly helps me get my teaching fix at the same time! (12 years, middle & high school math) #EdTechBridge
Q3: November is also a great time to gather together with family, friends, and colleagues for volunteer activities.
What are some things ou are doing in your local community to pay it forward? #edtechbridge
A2: No diff than most and certainly not enough. Collect some money to give much people much better than me to buy Xmas presents for those who need some help and winter clothes for kids. Hopefully all our small actions can add up to make a difference #edtechbridge
A3: I LOVE to do the pay for the person behind you thing at Starbucks or fast food drive thrus when I'm able. It's just something small but can make the biggest difference in someone's day. #EdTechBridge
Amazing! Thank you SO much for that, Kathi! You may have just saved a life with you #generosity. And thanks to those officers for so generously #donating their time and good will. #edtechbridge
A1: #Grateful for #principal peers who are committed to helping me in my journey. My resilience & growth comes from their support, suggestions, critical conversations, & encouragement. #Leaders need to be surrounded by people who challenge us to get uncomfortable. #edtechbridge
I am so grateful for so many, but first up is my wife @patterson7789 , a vice principal who just keeps supporting every good and ridiculous idea I throw out there and models humility and kindness. #edtechbridge
A3 Help with collections for holidays, food drives, gifts for families, my school does a lot of community events and also has different food and clothing drives #EdTechBridge
Q3: We have 5 kids. Each year we choose a way we give back. This year are still looking for a good way. Last yr was backing boxes for Thanksgiving boxes #EdTechBridge
I'm enjoying thoroughly all the expressed gratitude in this twitter chat #EdTechBridge . Thank you all for being here and having such an incredible exchange and giving back
Q4: What can you do to pay it forward specifically in the lives of students, teachers, and / or your #edtech company contacts in this season of #gratitude? #EdTechBridge
When I can... haha which isn't often, but it has been such a blessing to me when others have done it for me. Totally unexpected and very much appreciated! #EdTechBridge
A4: I try to “pay it forward” by elevating teacher voice, advocating for what educators/students really need in products, volunteering in schools, coordinating the #rtpedtech meetup, & chatting with teachers about how to navigate both worlds - schools and industry. #edtechbridge
Q4: What can you do to pay it forward specifically in the lives of students, teachers, and / or your #edtech company contacts in this season of #gratitude? #EdTechBridge
Thanks! I ended up wearing that as my Halloween costume. It was something different to everyone depending on which app they scanned me with! Hahaha! #edtechbridge

Q4: Take the time to give a sincere compliment or words of encouragement to even just ONE person every day!!! (or challenge yourself for a higher number!!) Go beyond the "good job" and "great work" #edtechbridge
Q4: What can you do to pay it forward specifically in the lives of students, teachers, and / or your #edtech company contacts in this season of #gratitude? #EdTechBridge
A4: I think this time of the year is great to teach your students about the power they have to make an impact. You could pair your class with another (from down the hall or across the globe) and work to help meet that classroom's needs. #edtechbridge#payitforward
Q4: What can you do to pay it forward specifically in the lives of students, teachers, and / or your #edtech company contacts in this season of #gratitude? #EdTechBridge
For the record, I never want to encourage someone to leave the classroom, but often am asked about the transition or how to work in both works... and I try to make myself available for questions about how and why I did. #EdTechBridge
Q4: Once a month, I host a “Teacher Treat Thursday” where my Partner Ryan bakes all kinds of baked goods, bread, cookies, & cupcakes for my staff. I invite them for a cup of coffee and a treat. It’s been great building relationships that way. #EdTechBridge
Great idea Brenna! I love the idea of pairing classrooms from around the world. The most valuable education now is how to live and work with a diverse community. Our kids need this critical understanding of inclusivity & that would go a long way to doing just that! #edtechbridge
My desire is to find ways to serve others, even in the small things like an encouragement or a simple smile. I want them to know how grateful I am for their constant hard work! #edtechbridge
Q4: What can you do to pay it forward specifically in the lives of students, teachers, and / or your #edtech company contacts in this season of #gratitude? #EdTechBridge
Thanks Jenny. I want to take my tech skillset into rural areas. My partner and I are planning to go to refugee camps and build coding programmes or teaching programmes. I'm currently struggling to connect my passion and energy to the right organisations or people. #edtechbridge
A4: I love to share student work to elevate their voice. My students publish most work publicly so sharing it out brings it to a larger audience. #stuvoice#EdTechBridge
A4: Stepping away from teaching to build @GiveThxApp feels like the best way I can pay forward all I've received & learned. Doesn't matter the class, helping everyone feel seen & appreciated for who they are sure matters. Achievement follows wellbeing. #EdTechBridge
Q4: What can you do to pay it forward specifically in the lives of students, teachers, and / or your #edtech company contacts in this season of #gratitude? #EdTechBridge
HAHA.. the amount of people in my office on a teacher treat day is dramatically more than any other day... but that's changing. Building those relationships are where it's at. :) #EdTechBridge
Those wonderful officers standing in the cold dark night to do even more good than they do all day & night every day! I’m so grateful for our police officers! #edtechbridge
A4: providing choice and opportunities to students helps them to find their passion. If we can help with that we’ve accomplished something great #stuchoice#EdTechBridge
YES! It's great because when they stop by because, as you probably know, if you work in a large school, sometimes you never meet/see all of your colleagues so it's nice to run into them over a treat ... or too. :) #EdTechBridge
I’m grateful for everyone that is here tonight in the chat. It’s so exciting to be involved in such lively discussion to the point that it’s hard to keep up! #EdTechBridge
A4: Pay it forward by giving students the gift of #GlobalAwareness. The more we can open Ss eyes to the world beyond their small corner, leveraging #edtech as a vehicle, the gift of empathetic and informed future leaders is born. #EdTechBridge
Well, I love food. haha and I love community so I thought it would be great if the two could come together where I work. So far it's working out nicely. Right now I'm only doing it once a month, maybe going to twice a month next year. #EdTechBridge
It is so important to not accept status quo and fight for better solutions. Throughout mentoring we can give so much back to students and help them to grow #EdTechBridge
A4: One of the best ways to pay it forward is to "do small things with great love." This can be a smile, opening a door, running copies, staying after school to help, giving up one's lunch. True love is doing what is best for others, for their sake--not own. #EdTechBridge
A3: I & my daughter’s organization, McKenzie’s Helping Hands, will package #blessingbags to hand out downtown to homeless; collect 100 fleece blankets to #donate to homeless kids in our community through local shelters; #volunteer to feed the homeless. #edtechbridge#bethechange
Q3: November is also a great time to gather together with family, friends, and colleagues for volunteer activities.

A4: I had “Open Office Hours last week one day. It was for any staff members who just wanted help or advice with any #edtech questions! It was a great opportunity to share a few treats to show them how much I appreciate their interest & ambition in seeking out PD! #EdTechBridge
Fantastic words of wisdom! The #GlobalCitizen is inexpressibly crucial in the world of today and tomorrow. The best #leaders are born from that awareness. #edtechbridge
A4: Pay it forward by giving students the gift of #GlobalAwareness. The more we can open Ss eyes to the world beyond their small corner, leveraging #edtech as a vehicle, the gift of empathetic and informed future leaders is born. #EdTechBridge
A4: Every year around the holidays it's good to pay attention to your Guidance/Counselor/Student Services Teams for a Giving Tree or Operation Angel program that helps with students who just need have stuff. As a student who received that growing up, it means a lot. #EdTechBridge
A5: Give feedback whenever you can!!! Let them know when you like what they're doing, and share about it :) Also, #EdTech companies can do "spotlights" of various individuals who they have worked with, and say "thank you" often :) #edtechbridge#OnTheSameTeam!!!!
Q5: How can educators demonstrate gratitude to #edtech companies on a regular basis?
Likewise, How can #EdTech companies and individual vendors demonstrate gratitude to educators on a regular basis?
Thank you all for this #positive chat. Need to dash to an artist-supporting event but am glad I had the chance to engage with you all. Sending the best of vibes your way! #edtechbridge
@GiveThxApp is looking for pioneer educators interested piloting. Aiming to learn with them & refine the program. All Ss & staff can participate to create positive, kinder sch culture. If interested do check out https://t.co/RmWoKTl6yC for more info! #GiveThx#edtechbridge
Awww, your last sentence there is everything! Thanks for sharing that. We do the Giving Tree at our schools. Now I kinda want to run out to Target right now and start buying stuff. #edtechbridge
A5: Regardless of where you live, how “high” you are the company/school, connect & learn more about each other, work better together & help more students by chatting (Twitter or live). Tag folks doing great work-educators or vendors W/ or w/out an #edtechbridge chat asking :)
Q5: How can educators demonstrate gratitude to #edtech companies on a regular basis?
Likewise, How can #EdTech companies and individual vendors demonstrate gratitude to educators on a regular basis?
A5: I like to share with our #edtech companies how their products/services are inspiring and impacting student learning. I think it’s important to validate them and their efforts toward student success. Communications is key. #EdTechBridge
A5: Constructive feedback is key for any company. If you can provide actual use cases and thoughtful feature requests. In turn of a company really cares they will listen to thier users and take feedback seriously. #EdTechBridge
Might just happen! I serve 4 schools every 5 days so sure do I zip around a lot. I love when I get to just sit and really spend time with teachers on whatever questions pop up! #edtechbridge
A5 I try and give regular Twitter "thank yous" and praises to things I like that I see in edtech companies. Especially when they go above and beyond what is expected. #EdTechBridge
A5: social media love goes a long way :) I love to share what my students are doing and when I’m sharing something they did with a particular product it’s an authentic way to show gratitude #edtechbridge
I am most thankful for Thanksgiving break to go see my family! We celebrate with lots of yummy homecooked food, especially pumpkin pie :) #EdTechBridge
I guess it’s time to share w/ my #PLN, we’re prego w/ #2. Her due date is right during @SXSWEDU ( #sxswedubaby perhaps?) Let’s try to catch up at @FETC instead-that’ll prob be my last before @ISTE. So grateful, but dang..my '19 conf sched got all messed up-Whoops! #EdTechBridge
A5: By giving their most precious resource: time. Going beyond feedback to dialogue & iteration is the most helpful thing for a new edtech organization & takes time. Amplification via recommendation is a great way as well. Nothing better than a T's rec to spread! #EdTechBridge
Q5: How can educators demonstrate gratitude to #edtech companies on a regular basis?
Likewise, How can #EdTech companies and individual vendors demonstrate gratitude to educators on a regular basis?
A5: #edtechbridge is all about relationships so nurturing relationships between #EdTech companies and educators is always important just like any relationship
I can never thank the team I work with and fellow colleagues enough. Days like today where traffic is crazy and school nuts we all look out for each other. #EdTechBridge#thankyou#gratitude
A6: I am most thankful for having an incredibly supportive district that encourages me to be innovative, creative, question the status quo and to bring change. My fellow Admins and I empower each other toward #innovatingEDU. #EdTechBridge
...& sharing comments and stories of how the work made their students and colleagues feel warms the soul and motivates the work. User voices are just plain wonderful. #EdTechBridge

A6: thankful for the opportunity to bring so many in the #minecraft community together through my involvement as a producer for @minefaire. We get to inspire so many people and connect so many creators, fans, educators, etc #edtechbridge
I'm shaping a new online course that will initially be for teachers, with hopes they can use it to support their curricula. https://t.co/bzaJN9WkyV#edtechbridge
