A1) Gifted characteristics, social emotional issues, myths, 2E issues, education provisions, parent supports, resources, books
Oops...sorry, used Q1 instead of A1
Well now ... 'controversial' is a good thing sometimes
Perfectionism is a great one. How can classroom teachers help g/t perfectionists with coping startegies? https://t.co/M8AiineFU7
A1 - can never talk too much about perfectionism, anxiousness, or asynchronous development
A1) Hope this is OK: Are we "gifted"? What it means to have a kid in a gifted program but more or less average in everything else.

Resources online & off. Starting a parent group. Gifted blogs/websites. Gifted organizations & how they help.
A1) I'm ESOL endorsed and would love to talk more about cultural div. in g/t. Why I originally started the coursework<3.

This is a great one b/c it addresses myths of GT, asynchronous development, etc
At least at the beginning of the year, I'll be scheduling topics rather than using a poll.
Definitely cocktail recipes. :) We should make up our own.
Sadly, I won’t make any chats until summer. :( I have rehearsal on Tues nights. Sniff…my passions collide.
That's a tall order to fill ...
yay !! I'm a g/t mom, too! https://t.co/eHEZRiDVkM
A1) is one of a very few Twitter educational chats that include both educators &parents with topics for both.
thx. I might still harbor my own myths. Not that she's "average"; it's just most of the issues don't seem relevant to us.
Oh, I have the cocktail recipes. ;)

I love this idea for a !! https://t.co/sJMetcSGGn

A2) Carolyn K , people from Gifted Homeschoolers Forum , people from SENG, and inspirational teachers etc

A3) It seems like such an opportunity to actually be able to chat directly with the author IMHO.
A3) The Strategic Teacher is our course textbook
Just got home from an extra long day of chess club, school and robotics and now trying to catch up with
A3) We have had authors on that weren’t directly writing on gifted, but had a strong influence on the community.
Definitely! Maybe even ? it's important to use those out of the box strategies for our g/t kids! https://t.co/cFyYlTdx5U
A3) It seems like such an opportunity to actually be able to chat directly with the author IMHO.

Q4) Do you read our transcripts and blog posts on a regular basis? Are they helpful?
Get in here to talk about gifted kids & STEM.
A2 Another topic - GT kids and college - helping them find the right fit college, not necessarily the big name college.
DM me after chat, Jill! That would be great!
A4 If I miss a chat, I always look forward to the transcript. Blog posts are hit and miss.
A4: I save the transcripts if its a topic I need to refer back to. I read the blog posts, usually MUCH later. :/

I love the book/author idea!
That's how I got started w/
I read storify also, but have not read the blog - good to know about it
That's who keeps us going >>>

A4) I always read the blog posts and put reference links to them in Gifted Resources newsletter each month - very valuable!
A4) Blog posts began as a way for people to connect with chat who weren’t available for the chat on Twitter.

A5) Facebook has allowed us to post links not directly related to a particular chat but of interest to the gifted community.
A5 Facebook, fairly regularly, not a fan of Pinterest, and didn't realize you had YouTube.

A5) Some parents and some educators seem more comfortable with Facebook or Pinterest.
Hi, Carolyn! You've been requested to be a guest on >>> :D
A5 Just followed the FB page and shared a recent article. Will follow Youtube channel as well!
Pinterest challenged - I like that. :) I'm not a fan b/c I'd rather go straight to something than see the pic first.
I'd love to be a guest! Thanks! Sorry I was late to the party tonight. Costco called as we drove past. In car now...
A5) love every social media platform. Speaking of, got to get camera ready for a broadcast! I'm excited about the new time
Exactly. And I don't seem to know how to get others to see the things I Post on Pinterest, either.

Glad to know it's not just me. :)

A6) It would be great to have more ‘interaction’ between stakeholders – teachers, parents, students, academics.
A2 I'm a big fan of and . We've loved having them at conferences
how would that differ? Interaction outside Twitter? Perhaps conversations on Facebook? But some teachers don't do FB..
A6 - would love to see a directory of people who regularly participate, want to continue conversations - email, blog, twitter handle
Brian is on our Advisory Board for I think we could talk him into a chat!
Jim Delisle at SENG WIlliamsburg in July! <-shameless plug for my other hat
Definitely agree! RT A6 - would love to see a directory of people who regularly participate,...

I just learned that Education Week will soon publish my article debunking "Grit" and "Mindset". More details in January
Yes, and all the chatters get together to chat in a specific place, so we actually MEET!
SENG in July! https://t.co/78yqQwpHW5
Yes, and all the chatters get together to chat in a specific place, so we actually MEET!
We need to add Google Hangouts! Just did one in November!
Thanks, Jen. I hate both of those as distractions to gifted ed. I thought Dweck did a good job of debunking herself
It's a great organization!
We’re nearly at the end of our chat today … final thoughts or questions?
Not a fan, not a fan at all. :p
We'll archive the chat and share the link via later today.
Lisa, thanks for all you do!
I really enjoy presenting participating in webinars too
Big thanks to you, Lisa, for everything you've made / continued into!
Thanks to the wonderful staff for their continuing support; we couldn’t do it without them!
I think they have a place, but not as big of one as they have been given. Would be a great convo.
Engineering & Tech unit this month in 5th grade! Websites! Biographies! Inventions! Can't wait to see what they create!
Thanks to the Advisory Board:

I think it was the cocktail recipes she was referring to. :)
RT : A6) I love how is unique, different from the rest. I think you've got a great niche!
