#aussieED was founded on the belief that all teachers, and students, should have unlimited access to Professional Development, on their own terms, to improve their teaching, their schools and change the lives of the students they encounter. Since then, we have embarked on a mission to reach educators, not only in Australia but, all around the globe. We want to smash the barriers that prevent teachers from easily connecting and learning with each other. To that end, we have developed a regular Ed-chat each Sunday on twitter at #aussieED. The chat allows all teachers, leaders, administrators and all those connected with education to meet on an unbiased platform and discuss the real issues that effect what happens in classrooms everywhere. Our chats are authentic because we are real teachers walking the same walk that so many do everyday.
Graphic from @danhaesler showing MySchool Data from 2016. 6 of the top 10 are from single sex schools. What are they doing that works? #aussieED Why is a successful model ignored? Why do systems/academics/ politicians ignore data they don’t like?
There lies the choice, it’s how parents choose to spend to spend their money. No child is turned away from my school-some pay 5% (same as what you can choose to pay at a Public school) others pay 100% of fees. You can tell me public ed in ACT is a fair playing ground. #aussieED
Won’t see my kid off to camp for the first time ever - she goes two days after I go to camp. Little affirmations to tell her that she will have an awesome time! #aussieED
I get your point but usually single sex schools take extra effort to support social opportunities... social mixers, etc #aussIeED BUT they a not for everyone and there should be a choice

At public schools I'd say generally no (they're almost always paired up with a local "opposite-sex" school). At private schools, particularly the boarding ones...I think there are still some issues. Certainly has been my experience. #aussieED

Yes. I agree. Sharing the equivalent of an online diary about their inner most personal thoughts isn’t desirable. However, that’s different to documenting a learning process about what they developed or a product their team designed & what they learnt a long the way. #aussieED

Most SS schools in SA have sibling schools (so brother/sister setups) and it’s been like this even since the Public SS schools started in the 50s. As a result, socialization isn’t really an issue. #AussieED

A new map has been created to help teachers, students and industry connect with STEM-related programs and resources on offer to secondary schools in Victoria, but some apply to WA as well #STEM#edtech#ecawa#tmwa#aussieEDhttps://t.co/kraUvA5xpj
