I live in Southern MN... just received a phone call. Two hours late tomorrow because of cold temps.
Hi! Chiming in a little late. Andrea from the Bay Area. :)
I was just sitting here wondering what day we are at. I know last year this week was our 100th day. We haven't been counting days.
Tomorrow will be day 81 for us
Howdy everyone, Claire here from VT. Love to hear 100th Day ideas
I just got a notice also. Dangerous windchill. 2 hours late! https://t.co/z9U0rajT06
I live in Southern MN... just received a phone call. Two hours late tomorrow because of cold temps.
We are on day 85 and we teach back in Jan 25.
We will have day 89 on Tuesday! Getting close here!
On Tues it will be day 88 (no school for sts tomorrow...teacher inservice)
Waiting to hear if we'll have 2 hr late. -20 to -35 for tomorrow. Has to be -35 for us to get late in
You have school tomorrow? We have off for MLK Jr. Day.
Hi, Claire! How are you tonight?
Please share what you do for 100 Day? Activities? Resources? Open Chat!
I haven't been counting days either. I'm sure my team has though and will remind me. 100th day isn't big for me. It's huge for K.
Yes, but 2 hour late. We have Friday off for PD.
I believe our 100th is next week. I lost count when we came back from break.
Think sometime 2nd week in February this year. It used to be a big event for kinders not sure but now you remind me 2check.
We are on day 85 and we track back in Jan 25. 100th day Feb 12.
Our 100th day is to be Feb. 4th, earliest ever for me in 21 yrs of teaching
I remember last yr it was the day after MLK Jr day
Holy smokes! What was I complaining about? 35 below? Shivers!
I don't have kids bring in collections of items. We count various items already in our classroom: rocks, counters, pennies, pencils
I have been complaining about our lows in the 30's. lol Too cold! I wouldn't survive there.
I gave my students baggies to bring 100 items, to keep them small. They brought in items like pennies, Legos, cheerios.
Anyone feellike 100th day lost something when standards changed to 120?
LOL. I'm hoping for 30s for next weekend when we move. It will be nice and warm:)
Last yr we did a lot of stuff in Math for the 100th day. Hundreds chart activities and fruit loop sorting.
we use 10s and 1s counting! I wondered why Ss were getting anxious? They thought 100 days and they would be done with me! LOL!
I let students decide what they do to celebrate the 100th day.
I have done LA & math stations 100 themed. Book making, rhyming words, what look like & be doing at 100, 100 exercises, 100 steps
Celebrating Day 120 this year for that reason!
Yup! We actually talked about switching to the 120th day of school, but it just doesn't have the same appeal.
We spend a full day doing the number 100 activities last yr. The Ss loved it!
our 100th day is Feb. 4 and we have kids dress up 100 yr old and rotate rooms for 100s activities
That sounds like a lot of fun.
I'm doing writing/reading centers like when I"m 100, wriitng 100 words
Last year we celebrated every decade with Zero the Hero, so the 100th day was a really big deal.
Besides the hats, this yr sts will decide what activities/events occur on the 100th day this yr
We do lots of math based activities. Also did a 100 word QR code scavenger hunt last year that went over well
That sounds like a lot of fun! https://t.co/8DU79XYdYY
our 100th day is Feb. 4 and we have kids dress up 100 yr old and rotate rooms for 100s activities
that's the hat we make, it's fun!
I change all my math rotations that day so the focus is around 100 Day.
How many rooms & what activities Sounds like so much fun.
LOVE these! They look similar to the ones we make. Like how the strips aren't attached at the top
This post is from 2 years ago, but you can see what kids chose to do.
Hi! Danielle from OK. Student teaching with 1st grade! Sorry I'm late!
100 word QR code scan hunt? please tell more
Last year I decorated the door so kids had to walk through a cut-out of the number 100.
No! I have been on the look out!
we did the aging photo app and they wrote about what they would be like when they turn 100! So much fun!
Our 100th day is set to be on Feb 4 as well!
Welcome to Danielle! We love preservice teachers joining us!
Does anyone do 100 tweets with their classroom Twitter accounts?
What's the aging photo app? https://t.co/DtylsXOghQ
we did the aging photo app and they wrote about what they would be like when they turn 100! So much fun!
Thinking of kids focus as they work on 100th day activities and very into this concept of Flow
https://t.co/1Gxy63sPeq
sculptures made w/100 Legos, what will you look like with torn paper, 100 snack, 100 seconds skip, jog, etc.,
I"m thinking out 100 cup structures, build with 100 blocks,
love these ideas, will try the stickie note designs, and shapes...thanks for sharing.
There are some great YouTube songs: Big Numbers (think that's the title)
Great idea! May try this year... once I figure out when our 100th day is. I think we will be on day 81 https://t.co/z4kYtBnmoY
Does anyone do 100 tweets with their classroom Twitter accounts?
For math I did ways to make number 100, count 100 of an item, what do $100, 100 addenda matching, 100s grid code pic, roll to 100
Excited to be here for my first !
we had them draw and use chatterkid to tell what they would do at 100 year old hilarious!
The kids decorate capes with 100 things of their choice, and then we have an indoor parade.
they look so cute as old people, always good for giggles
The 100 Cups is always a fave in my classroom. Kids continue even after 100 Day.
Welcome! Glad you are joining us tonight.
I do love the app that ages them. I was trying to find a photo. There were so many giggles.
thanks got it in another tab for after the chat-thanks for sharing
What kind of capes? Paper?
we did the cape thing and used plastic tablecloths cut in 3rds I believe
Oh ! Someday I will remember you on time. Lurking and finishing dishes. You have me excited for the 100th day! Great ideas!
Thanks for the link! Awesome ideas here...did the kiddos count out their own building supplies

100th Day math QR code scavenger hunt. https://t.co/D5gbqX89BB US coins only... let me know if you r interested in Canadian coins
Movement activities are good choices too: Jumping in place for 100 seconds, etc.
I also just took 11 x 17 paper and asked them each to show me all the ways they could make 100. Very revealing.
That would be a neat idea!
Yes. The approach was different ways to show 100. They all came up with the ideas & found supplies. https://t.co/Nf5Y9GOh7z
Thanks for the link! Awesome ideas here...did the kiddos count out their own building supplies
Love this idea! We will join!
When I was in the classroom YES I have a few posts on my blog about & how we saw it for kinders
I put masking tape in the hallway that is 100 feet long. Kids walk the tape forwards and backwards & count and compare steps.
I have sent every child home with a number from 1-100 (to decorate) and we made a very large 100's chart.
Love the idea of using 100 Legos for scultptures! I may have to use that
Welcome Danielle! It's a great PLN to be a part of!
, we will join your padlet too!
Oh yes I have done this with my S's 100 cups structures are so fun. Ss love this, too.
That is cool! You could also pick numbers and decide where they belong?
we predicted where 100 steps would take us and then did it-amazing the off the wall guesses there were-misconceptions for sure
Going to check w/colleagues on Tuesday to see how they are approaching 100th day & will share these ideas.
We did things you can do in 100 seconds. They would estimate and then we would try.
I need to add that to the choices
An idea I've had with my mentor teacher is making a class list of 100 acts of kindness and the students pick one to journal about.
I see question coming... I wish we all had the 100th during the same week:) https://t.co/RxishOs8bW
I also just took 11 x 17 paper and asked them each to show me all the ways they could make 100. Very revealing.

A collaborative class multimedia slide show about 100 fascinating facts about us or school mascot would be cool too. 😊
We have a canned food drive for local outreach center. Goal: 100 cans from each class.
Love this idea also. In the end, maybe we have to divide them into equal share with everyone in the class? https://t.co/1V212fiAtT
Three containters with m&m's. They have to pick which one has 100. Of course they always pick the bag with the most!

There was a Scholastic News focus on Ruby Bridges last year. Could check their archives if you use Interactive site.
Does anyone use EPIC app with their Ss...I have an account but wondered if I have to log in on each computer or iPad myself?
Another awesome thing I've used is Dyson vacuums, you can order kits to take apart their vacuums
My school did school-wide Peace Market for MLK Day. Worked w/other grades to complete tasks. https://t.co/2jzYsULulT
That would be great! Let's talk more later to set up a time. Where are you from? We are in WI

It still shocks me every time. Especially when I see how close to the present it was. https://t.co/odCAhWQWnN
My students are always shocked to learn about some of the injustices in our history.
We use EPIC- I made acct, Ss logged in & found their name. can't remember if I had 2 login 1st time- if did I haven't since

Thanks for another awesome chat! Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day! EnJoy your week!
