A5: By showing Ss how I try new things and risk failure. Ss help me reflect! Tried #EduGIF stories Friday. I thought, Failure. Ss thought Fun! Then we worked through how 2 make it better. 1 S even asked me if Edison only made one light bulb. Love that he cheered ME up. #OrEdChat
It starts at the beginning of the year through shared experiences, lessons on how to add value to each other's learning, using tools like @Seesaw & @Flipgrid, gamification plays into it quite a bit. It's something that happens over time :) #OrEdChat
✨A4: TEACH LIKE A P.I.R.A.T.E.! Nothing ups the energy in a classroom more than when you bring the @burgessdave#TLAP system with you: Passion, Immersion, Rapport, Ask/analyze, Transformation, and Enthusiasm.✨
Q5: We work hard on this as part of SEL. It is a struggle for mine to truly celebrate others as I teach 1st grade GT (12 out of 20) but we keep working on it. I am authentic with them and tell them my failures as well as successes. #oredchat
A4 #oredchat#BeTheWildCard By nature, I am a positive, energetic person. I love greeting my Ss as they arrive in the morning and listening to their stories. I also am fairly excitable so if I am passionate about something, energy is easy to create.
A5: #OrEdChat#BeTheWildCard Modelling a growth mindset - creating a culture where mistakes are encouraged and the journey is celebrated rather than the end product. This begins with the creation of a safe & caring classroom community.
My daughter works at a food truck in downtown Portland, OR and makes bubble waffle sundaes. She just sent me this pic of her creations. Don’t they look amazing?! I’ll take both please!!
