-
First question coming up in about a minute
-
-
Multitasking. Simplifying rational expressions and chatting. has my business tonight.
-
Q1 What is everyones experience with ?
-
A1: Limited. We have a classroom for our staff. We have a classroom for our lighthouse team. We have another for our admin team
-
Hi there , Brooke, Tech Coordinator, Hardin Co. Popping in for a few.
-
At the GAFE Summit, they compared Google Drive & to Microsoft programs. This was interesting, and in many ways, an eye opener.
-
A1: Some T's use it. Not many right now. We'll be 1:1 chromebook in grades 3-5 the end of this month though.
-
A1. We have a Google Classroom for staff. Comfort level not the highest yet though. At least two of my Ts use it daily.
-
We are using it 4-6 this year and I hv a classroom for Ts where I post all info! Love google!!!
-
Oh...I did, Shelee. One of them is missing an "x" though and I can't figure it out!!!
-
A1: love using GC for coaching & PD sessions. We are still experimenting w/this model
-
A1: I just used it this weekend to post free number sense videos for staff. A few have worked on it already!
-
District funded. 1:1 for grades 3-8.
-
A few of our Ts use it regularly. Most just started using it for NTI days a few weeks ago. We have a LOT to learn!
-
That's a lotta daggone chromebooks.
-
A1: We tried to transition from e-mail to staff to GC to staff. Crash and burn.
-
Chromebooks rock though. We have a 1:1 Chromebook classroom and the Ss love it!
-
Q2 What schools or districts are already using or some other digital learning environment and how?
-
A2. Lakewood Elementary decided to go paperless this year with staff. We have everything in Google Drive: newsletters, forms, etc.
-
A2: Our district is going with Canvas or Blackboard. Our T's are most comfortable with GAFE.
-
A2. We also flip half of our faculty meetings and put those in Google as well. Committee work all in GDrive.
-
I will try to be brave and do that next year.
-
-
A2 I think I'm only school in our district using GC but our HS AND MS use Edmodo
-
Not a fan! Am I the only one?
-
our school hasn't used google classroom - for pre-k and K we haven't found creative use yet. I have used in PD
-
A2 we have started this year using Drive, Forms, Docs for almost all logistics, etc We even had a google hangout faculty meeting!
-
I have a cool KG idea. We tried it in a KG class and Lakewood. Vocab activity. I'll share tomorrow.
-
agreed. my mind is way too busy to focus inside of edmodo.
-
Q3 What are some of the benefits and/or drawbacks of the flipped classroom model?
-
A2 moving to paperless.. Still using email since our transition to Google is slow.
-
First step: Put all info in a Google newsletter and don't send it any other way.
-
Q3. Benefits-more time for hands-on learning, more time for in-depth discussion
-
so true. made great strides doing this last year!
-
todays was a perfect example of one we could have done in a flipped manner
-
A3. Drawback: Some families don't have access to internet. My T offered time in AM to watch videos though and overcame.
-
A3. Drawback: Negative feedback from some who don't understand the model. Lots of positive PR helps.
-
a3: I think there is just confusion on what this looks like. Love research based session on this!
-
A3: Benefit is teacher modeled examples for parents.
-
a3: I honestly think the best way to get Ts on board is to model it through faculty mtgs from admin perspective
-
A3: Benefit is kids can watch, pause, go back, etc. They don't "miss it" because you moved on
-
Q4 Does anyone have any questions for about implementation?
-
A4: How many training days, hours do you set aside for the kids? Do you have a parent night?
-
we did not have a parent night can tell you how much time she spent getting her kids used to it
-
A4. What are some of the key procedures you teach your students when using Google?
-
I observed during the process and she basically CHAMPed our the process with the students
-
Thank you to and for leading us tonight!!
-
Thanks everyone for letting me take the reigns for a night
