    A2: Research supports 3 read alouds per day and repetition is critical! I typically do one intentionally planned interactive read aloud daily with two others to support the learning theme and grow the love for literacy! #ECEchat

    A2: My goal is to read at least 1 read aloud a day; however, life happens and sometimes it does not work out that way. I use read alouds to introduce new skills. Yesterday I read Chrysanthemum to introduce comparing length of names during math. #ECEchat

    A3 I have so many I love to read, but my favorites this year have been books with no words. My kids were dumbfounded when I pulled out the first one and told them there were no words. They had the best time doing a picture read though. #ecechat

    A4:Repetition! A read aloud becomes intentional when you plan to use the book to teach a specific skill, strategy, or concept. I use sticky notes to plan my think alouds, comprehension questions,and vocabulary within the text. And don't try to do it all in one reading! #ecechat

    A3 I like Read Alouds that have surprises or an unexpected twist. Itā€™s so fun to read them over and over watching the students responses. Throw in a costume, accent or prop and Iā€™m good to go! #ecechat

    It's important to use books with repeated patterns, rhyme, movement, etc to really engage our listeners - and future readers. Also, this helps make the PA, phonics, and print connection. #ecechat

    If my teachers are not familiar with this idea of pre-planning, I encourage them to select one book a week to plan and prepare in a way that works for them. Then they end the year with a collection of planned read alouds - and they can grow that collection each year! #ecechat

    A3 "The Emperor's Egg" M. Jenkins Kids can figure out the large words on the pg while I read the rest. "Wodney the Wat" H. Lester (This story is magical already!) At this moment, we're doing Doreen Cronin & Betsy Lewin's "Click Clack" books. Kids convos on them - magical!#ECEChat
