A1: Policy makers at the national and state levels, but also superintendents and other district admin; listening to T's can help shape productive policy #teachNVchat
#teachNVchat A-1 Parents! They are vital to our profession. If they see how we work on a daily basis with students that would be a game changer. Therefore, if we get parents to advocate on our behalf (and support us in our daily duties), our job becomes infinitely easier.
Bit of a delay in my chat skills just got home from @maxwellbulldogs Academic Parent Teacher Team night! thanks for all of you who are joining #teachNVchat tonight
A-2 #teachNVchat By focusing on positive programs and how they impact students and student growth. We are here for students and should therefore celebrate, study, and mirror programs that support students.
A2: With every problem, offer a solution too. Legislators are inundated with grievances and complaints â theyâre more likely to be responsive if we bring a glass half-full attitude. #teachNVchat
A2 Positive press. A colleague in WCSD posts daily what his students are doing in class and how he changed it up. Every parent should expect at teacher like him. When parents see what he does.... #teachNVchat
A2: This goes back to being intentional. It's sometimes easier complain but being thoughtful about challenges can help us change the situation #teachNVchat
A2: Hey #teachNvchat Justin 4th grade teacher from @BaltCitySchools here for one west coast question! We need to share our positive stories & champion teaching when out in our communities. Negative/venting stories should be behind closed doors.
I make a difference, one person at a time, talking to family, friends, colleagues, strangers, social media. Even my brothers who would not do this job no matter how much they tease me. đ #teachNVchat
A3 I will continue to co-facilitate PD with my Ss for teachers, facilitate community service with our student council, and share exciting lessons and positive outcomes with my PLNđ #TeachNVchat
