I have asked some of my students to do directed drawing which is more of an indicator to me of whether or not they can listen to follow instructions. I encourage them to make it their own but I demo the steps and repeat for them to try. Interpretations are always neat
Iâve always seen directed drawing in a different light than arts or crafts, although itâs a bit of a combination of both I suppose. Itâs got a different feel, and really, a different purpose. I agree, their interpretations of your instructions are always neat #kinderchat
Exactly. I show them how they could draw something...many of my students are quick to give up when attempting to draw so it has helped a few understand how different lines could make something they want to draw. #kinderchat

A2: fine motor skills!!!! Getting them to use scissors, crayons, markers, helps w/these muscles! I think art also helps w/creativity when they are allowed to freely explore & create #kinderchat
Q1 A1 I perfer to do crafts with the children because it teaches them to focus and pay attention to instructions when given. To me crafts are the beginning to them finding their inner are skills. #kinderchat#gen2108

After thinking about it... I would probably do crafts but provide one or two examples of said craft and let them freely create their own sort of thing #KinderChat
A3 we have art 2x/wk so Ss bet art concepts there, but we also do art activities with our theme & I have an art center as a choice for play time #kinderchat

A3 we have an amazing art teacher @stembdart Ss have art on the specials wheel. In class I do crafts plus explore with watercolor, play dough, tempura, collage and lots of mini lessons on illustrating #kinderchat

A5: I still have an art centre. This year we donât seem as interested as in past years, but I try to put out a variety of loose arts and crafts supplies. Painting at the easel is always available. Sometimes we do a class art project too #kinderchat
