The #INeLearn hashtag is used for both asynchronous sharing and synchronous conversations. Include #INeLearn in your tweets if you want to share resources or questions with Indiana educators and school leaders. Asynchronously, the #INeLearn hashtag provides educators across the state of Indiana a central space for sharing. On Thursday evenings beginning at 8 CST/9 EST when you use the #INeLearn hashtag, you are joining a live conversation--the #INeLearn Twitter Chat. For one hour, we interact in real time having a virtual discussion.
The last part about student control. It solves the relevance problems and Ts are talented enough to connect the standards to student interests and passions #inelearn
#inelearn A1 moving Ts towards facilitators and letting Ss become creators and collaborators in their learning. We need to provide information but allow Ss to look at I️t and develop their own theories and ideas.
R1 Student control, especially over path. We've all arrived here by following different paths. Why would we expect anything different from learners?#inelearn
R1:I love the idea of student control. The more they are interested in what they are learning the more likely they will build a love for learning. #INeLearn
A1 - like the idea of student control to create that student ownership of one's learning. Tech can support student curiosity, creativity, etc. #inelearn
R2: the broadness of 'online learning' so many options on how to do this. I get overwhelmed with figuring out programs, LMS, software, social media...#INelearn
R2. I'm not sure overwhelm is the word I would use, but it might be calculating the time I would need to invest in learning the online platform & then hoping that platform doesn't become obsolete or changes, or costs more money or... #INeLearn
R3 The possible use of the word "and" instead of "or." Student choice is a beautiful thing. But student choice over all aspects of learning can be a bit overwhelming. #inelearn
R2: Overwhelming is too strong, but the anxiety for Ts about adapting their teaching style and focus is real. Too many haven't grasp the idea that if we don't adapt (and quickly) our current educational reality will end. #inelearn
A2 Pace. It's a whole new world of planning when kids are all in different stages of progress. It's good for them, but major shift for teachers #INeLearn
A1: I think student control is difficult for Ts, because it is so foreign to us. Not many of us ever had much choice in our learning other than whether or not take AP courses #INeLearn
R3: Using it as a reinforcement tool i.e. game simulations. My students love those. And as an inquiry tool. Get the kids curious about a topic before we start learning. Also gives me time for one on one work with students who need it. #INeLearn
My school has done some intentional grouping in credit recovery - kids all needing the same credit using a self-paced online course placed with a teacher to help fill in gaps #INeLearn
R3: Ts are really trying to deliver content in new ways, moving students to creation rather than consumption - now we need to focus on quality content design and feedback #inelearn
#inelearn A3 with our Mystery Skypes/Hangouts. Over the past few weeks we have visited Sweden, Russia and Canada. I️t has helped to build geography skills, cultural awareness and communication with our Ss. They have become engaged and want to learn more.

Be first to learn who will host the 2018 Summer of eLearning Conferences! Join us in our 8 am session @hecc_conference Milwaukee room! #INelearn#hecc2017
R3. We definitely have Ts blending with either gamification or creating iBooks and allowing Ss to pace themselves. Convinced a teacher to try a Hyperdoc last week. Mixed reviews on the content, but sees the value of the process. I call that a win! #INeLearn
A3: a lot of our elem teachers are having success using @CanvasLMS to post a daily welcome message & agenda. This initiates a.m. procedures and helps transition into work time. No projector required. students arrive at different times #inelearn
A3: We have several Ts experimenting with the Genius Hour framework/philosophy to create that student control of learning in classrooms. #WCSVision#inelearn
R4: I want to use it to differentiate my instruction more. I want to reach each student in a one on one fashion some how. I also would like to be able to meet the needs of my inclusion students more effectively. #INeLearn
A4 I would love to get better at letting them learn on their own path. It goes back to student control. And I'm not sure how that would work. #INeLearn
R$. Just converted to Canvas. I'd like to leverage the power of it and provide online learning there and award badges for things like Digital Citizenship, Makerspaces activities, etc. #INeLearn
A3: what I'm trying to negotiate - Ok, so I've found an amazing video. now what? how do I pair the video with other content? And being aware of cognitive load ... #inelearn
A4: I want Ts to dig deeper. Too many are still content to recreate or just use old material and think it’s online. I need to give them the tools to do it better.#INeLearn
#inelearn A4 Developing an effective assessment to see how well our Ss grasp and understood the speakers. We enjoy having them in class but are the Ss retaining the knowledge.
We have badged some PD modules in Canvas and Ts actually preferred the physical badge to the digital badge. They hung them on their doorways for others to see. #INeLearn
R4 I want students to feel more comfortable using digital resources without prompting. Instead of saying "look for inspiration on Pinterest" or "Google it," learners know how/when to find info on their own. #inelearn
R5: elementary students do not need an extended day. They are the sponges! Give the teachers the training and support they need and this will take off in the classroom. Faith, training and confidence is all the education system needs. #INeLearn
R6 I love seeing how blended learning motivates introverts by allowing them more opportunities to demonstrate knowledge, explore interests, and express themselves. #inelearn
It intrigues my students, and breaks up the school day for them. But the motivation still comes down to them. However, they do keep asking when the next online gaming day is :) #INeLearn
A6: I'm not a strict Blended learning class, but I invite you to see what we do in our #Innovation class.
We do daily videos from the classroom.
Pls chk out (& subscribe?) https://t.co/jiCpJCWZNm#INeLearn

A5: I don't think the Blended authors are advocating for a longer school day. I think they are criticizing the general sameness in elementary school scheduling ... #inelearn
A6 Definitely motivates S’s observed teacher couple weeks ago & they had S’s create @SmorePages over @TheHobbitMovie S’s were totally invested in their learning #inelearn
Interested in leveraging blended learning to help us motivate those students we are losing particularly in the junior high range. Opportunity to build culture where student control is norm and meet students at their level. #WCSVision#inelearn
A6: I see blended learning as an opportunity to get students writing more. I think writing continues to get lost in the 21st century slash 4CS slash STEM slash innovation conversations #inelearn
R7: Ownership of the blended classroom. Just like with students. If we get to create it and tailor it to our students and their needs we still have a purpose and role. no need to feel replaced. It just enhances our ability to reach each student. #IneLearn
I love the Teach Like A Pirate #TLAP resources as a great start to this conversation. The "Hooks" are an easy starting point for Ts. The hard question is would students buy a ticket to be in your class? #INeLearn
Couldn't agree more with this! The transformation is not a replacement or reduction of the teacher it allows for the improvement of the T's practice #INeLearn
R7 Students will always need us to guide, model, inspire and show them love. Technology cannot replace us. It can only allow for more. More learning. More opportunities. More soft skills. #inelearn
A7 technology are just tools for the teacher. You don’t use technology to be using it ...has to have a purpose...need a skilled teacher to determine that #inelearn
R8: May sound crazy, but the best resources are the awesome teachers that are in our corporation. I have mentioned this, but I LOVE using seesaw with my 1st graders #INeLearn
R8 @williamastein and I also have an ed podcast! Tomorrow's ep will be a great resource for those new to edtech and blended learning. And I'm sure these aren't the only two #edtech#podcasts out there than can support and inspire you! #INeLearn
