#INeLearn Archive

The #INeLearn hashtag is used for both asynchronous sharing and synchronous conversations. Include #INeLearn in your tweets if you want to share resources or questions with Indiana educators and school leaders. Asynchronously, the #INeLearn hashtag provides educators across the state of Indiana a central space for sharing. On Thursday evenings beginning at 8 CST/9 EST when you use the #INeLearn hashtag, you are joining a live conversation--the #INeLearn Twitter Chat. For one hour, we interact in real time having a virtual discussion.

R5: Here's @hadip intro from about a month ago. He explains different ways to sort & how Ts were involved in evaluating. https://t.co/Vuf9DFtP6H #HourOfCode #INeLearn

R6 Baby steps. Select a program that has a lot of resources such as CS First. The video tutorials may help the T more than the Ss. I also enjoy @SwiftPlayground because I can do a Google search for solutions if needed. #INeLearn

R7: Do it! Indiana has a great network of educators who support one another and are eager to help. Reach out to other CS educators and you will get the support you need! #INeLearn #CSforIN

R6 To tackle the hardware vs. software IN CS standard, I went with a Kano computer kit which allowed Ss to be hands-on w/ that skill. I also used our district tech guys who gave Ss tours of behind the scenes infrastructure. Use your people resources. #INeLearn

Something robust and all-inclusive can be a great place to start. Then you can make things your own as you get more and more comfortable #INeLearn

R6 Try @codeorg with your Ss. You will collaborate, communicate, trip & fall, trouble-shoot, and learn together #INeLearn

Hands-on activities are so memorable for students and can be helpful in learning new concepts. #INeLearn #CSforIN

R6: Instead of teaching CS exclusively, tie it to STEM standards that it fits with. #inelearn
  • T_Copple Nov 29 @ 9:53 PM EST
Exactly! I also made it my mission to code when my Ss were coding my first year. I used https://t.co/kD0jqnZitB and learned Java. We would share in our struggles as we learned together. #IneLearn

It can take a village, but that's OK! Real-world experiences are important! #INeLearn

R6: My advice for Ts is that they do not have to have ANY experience themselves with CS! Take advantage of resources and initiatives like #HourofCode and give your students the opportunities they deserve! #INeLearn
