Q1 is on deck! RT @mflicek1 Q1: What is the difference between a growth mindset and fixed mindset? #1stchat
  • mflicek1 Jan 6 @ 8:08 PM EST
A1: Growth Mindset: Assumes that intelligence and other qualities, abilities, and talents can be developed with effort, learning, and dedication. Fixed Mindset: you aren't able to change/limited in what you can do in your life. #1stchat
  • tjggmueller Jan 6 @ 8:09 PM EST
A1: A fixed mindset uses the words I can't, I never will, I am not smart enough, and will not learn from mistakes. A growth mindset uses words like I will, I can't YET, but , I am going to try again, and uses mistakes as a starting line, not a finish line. #1stchat
  • FirstAtBat Jan 6 @ 8:09 PM EST
A1: A fixed mindset believes we can stop growing learning, and we each have limited intelligence. Growth mindset believes we can break down barriers with perseverance and reflection. #1stchat
  • Woods1stgrade Jan 6 @ 8:09 PM EST
A1: a growth mindset is when we believe people are always growing and able to grow, a fixed mindset is set and can't be changed #1stchat
  • lekadegroot - Moderator Jan 6 @ 8:09 PM EST
Hi, Garrett. Glad you are joining us! Growth Mindset is something we definitely have to teach explicitly. It doesn't come naturally to many young students. I suggest this book. https://t.co/YNTfzbgboR #1stchat

  • Garrett_EDUC451 Jan 6 @ 8:17 PM EST
A1: A growth mindset allows students to progress and grow throughout their education and life because this mindset says that learning is a process. A fixed mindset stunts learning and tells students they can not progress past a certain point. #1stchat
