  • Isham_Literacy May 19 @ 9:07 AM EDT
A1 I used to think that I had to really know an app or a concept like coding before I tried it with my Ss. Now I am willing to try it alongside my Ss and learn it with them, allowing them to see me as a learner! #BookCampPD
  • Isham_Literacy May 19 @ 9:07 AM EDT

A1. Reflection Next year, instead of reflection being a one-size-fits-all— I want to give my students options on how they reflect. Some students like to write (blog or journal). Some students like to vlog (video blogging #Flipgrid and #Screencastify) Drawing etc. #bookcamppd
  • Rdene915 May 19 @ 9:07 AM EDT

A1: I relaxed and decided that it was okay to learn WITH my kids. I didn’t need to “read ahead” or practice. I could model the learning process with them. #ProcessNotProject #bookcampPD

A1: That everything has to be new and fresh. Teaching strategies that worked for me as a kid are still very likely going to work now. I need to look at the why rather than just what year the teaching practice was introduced. #BookCampPD
  • Isham_Literacy May 19 @ 9:10 AM EDT
Absolutely! Students can learn to be leaders by leading! #BookcampPD
    In reply to @Rdene915
  • emilyfranESL May 19 @ 9:10 AM EDT
A1: It’s all about choices! My lessons used to be: that’s what I’ve planned so that’s what we’ll do!!! Today, I know to be flexible and in order to amplify student voice, Ss must have tech choices! #bookcamppd
  • Isham_Literacy May 19 @ 9:11 AM EDT
    Question 2 drops in 1 minute. #BookcampPD
  • AmandaSopko May 19 @ 9:11 AM EDT
A1: This year, I focused a lot more on mindfulness. Each day, we have a theme (mindset, test prep, spatial awareness, review, and Makerspace). The Ss love the structure of spending the first few minutes of class focusing on different skill and taking time settle. #BookCampPD
  • mjjohnson1216 - Moderator May 19 @ 9:11 AM EDT

  • Rdene915 May 19 @ 9:12 AM EDT
