A9. Depends on the student. Can be very motivating for some. Some will simply memorize to pass the test.

NO! I do not think that assessment encourages learning. It encourages learning for test taking. Not the same learning!

A9: Maybe. If Ss and Ts reflect on the assessment. I remember getting grades and never reviewing what I missed. That did not help!

A8: Rubrics = great way to assess. Target clearly defined w/ set criteria for levels of understanding. Great 4 measuring mastery.
