#txlchat A2 I am blessed to serve two campuses. I am forging a partnership with my early college hs ELA dept. So happy to be connecting them to Skype author visit with Laurie Halse Anderson.

A2: Having (or being) a mentor is so powerful as we learn and grow. Lilead Fellows were all experienced but having mentors made such a difference to us. IT helps no matter where you are in your career. #txlchat

A1 Through my attendance at TLA and ALA this past year, I have developed my skills in cataloging, the job hunting process, and leadership. I have used those skills to be a better cataloger, obtain a new job, and effectively lead a student organization I was in. #txlchat

A3 a big goal of mine this year was to reinstate the Book Talk. We have nearly 40 ELAR teachers alone at my school, so it’s incredibly hard to work with everyone. But, we’ve had almost all ELAR teachers come in for a book talk twice this semester! #txlchat
A3 I encourage a love of literacy by giving the students a space to share, collaborate, and create. The library belongs to the students, not me. #txlchat
#txlchat A3 Leading the charge to bring our first ever Battle of the Books local competition to our district and supporting our advancing teams to Regional Competition.

A3-Sharing what I read with others, challenging librarians to offer extra checkout for the winter break & promoting Overdrive, our digital library #txlchat

A2 I believe relationships are key to most of what happens in our library space, but one is my ELA team! What an incredible team of willing educators. My circ is up, they are eager! My principal is absolutely the best. She’s new, but she gets it. I don’t have to explain #TxLChat
Just finished up at a Children’s Shelter Christmas party where my KeyClub students and my daughters helped the children select books as a gift. So happy we were given the opportunity to help! Thanks @Whataburger and @CarolHarle1 📚❤️🎄 #txlchat

A3-Chatting with the admin assistant about books that she and her daughter can read together and share. It doesn't just happen in the library! #txlchat
A3 I always love taking time to help students find the perfect book, or visiting when they ask questions. I have the #tayshaslist and #lonestarlist posters on my counter and write comments on them or point out books. It’s also fun to provide read-spikes. #txlchat
A3: I've been thinking about this a lot and think I might start a "Breakfast and Books" book club couple of mornings a week starting in January. Ideas welcome! #txlchat
A3 #txlchat Next month I will have an e-book published on the @MWFBaz Make Way for Books app. It’s exciting to know that families will be using their devices to read my story w/their children. (And I can’t wait to see the illustrations). https://t.co/SpreKJAgrh
