-
Let's talk some football! Q1 up next!
-
Q1: How do you game plan your Go-Tos against your opponent each week?
-
Might be last one for awhile. Middle school plays on Wednesdays here in SC. Games start next week
-
Torrey Howard RB's coach at Norcross High School GA
-
Josh Faure - Northern Raiders (HS equivalent) AUSTRALIA
-
Jason Strickland Head Coach Ftizgerald High School , Fitzgerald GA
-
Pat Hall HFC Dominion Christian in Marietta, GA
-
Brandon Twiss. OC. Liberty Union HS Ohio
-
A1: I draw up our blocking against all the fronts they've shown to see what is good
-
A1) I like to attack undisciplined or unsound play.
-
Q2: How often are they scripted in practice?
-
A1: Block it against fronts and stunts we've seen. Exploit weakness and tendencies.
-
Tom Peck, WR/DB/STC Oldenburg Academy, Indiana
-
A1 varies really, based on opponent
A2 every single day
-
We always align our GoTo's with what we think will attack both the mismatches and voids in the defense we will see.
-
A2 we try to do them multiple times during team periods emphasis why we are attacking that point/how we can run it
-
A2) 80% base or identity, 20% wrinkles or introducing new concept
-
A1) I find a key, either a sub package or some stance, and use our Go-To there. Sometimes I go Patriots and see a signal on film
-
A2: some are during inside period, some in pass skel. Combined in team.
-
A2. Everything is scripted. Gap Responsibilities for scout on Pride D play cards
-
A2) Every day, and a few times during warmup
-
one thing is clear. You guys have awesome helmets.
-
Q3: Do your Go-To plays change year to year based on how the team executes?
-
A1. Mon.is all new concepts or wrinkles. Tue/Wed is 80/20 New/Base
-
A3: Same concept this year, but made base change from Gun to Under due to personnel.
-
A:2 We script inside and team everyday. One thing I like that we do is make a for Friday's game on Sunday.
-
A3) They change year to year. Have to play to the strengths of the team. Sometimes, week to week, depending on health
-
A3 we are who we are, but who we have up front determines everything
-
Coach Stauffer, Patriot High School DC, SoCal
-
A:2 continued It may start one way but end up totally different by the end of Wednesday's practice.
-
A3) I'll never get away from trap.
-
A3. Just watched last year's film from this weeks game. Whole different team.
-
A:3 Unless you're IMG I think your plays have the potential to change due to your personnel. 😂😂
-
A3 we still try to run them. Power out of double wing and with trips for example. Trap. It's our identity.
-
Coach Blacha, OL, Brookland-Cayce high
-
A1: base on opponent tendencies. What do they do best/worst
-
Q4: What is the expectation when your bread and butter play is called?
-
A3: No just how we align to them might based on this years personnel https://t.co/Rx1wIDxsas
-
-
Q3: Do your Go-To plays change year to year based on how the team executes?
-
A4 no less than 3.3 yards ever
-
A4: Correct alignment and Do Your Job!
-
a2: Go To plays 6 times weekly, probably run twice a day during practice. https://t.co/4tG1zjYuu6
-
-
Q2: How often are they scripted in practice?
-
A4) First down always. +20 or TD is the goal.
-
-
A4: For it to gain positive yards. https://t.co/wDy006Vfiy
-
-
Q4: What is the expectation when your bread and butter play is called?
-
Agree. Depending on the OL, are they mashers, or gap scheme pullers? https://t.co/kbhOQBJK3W
-
-
A:3 Unless you're IMG I think your plays have the potential to change due to your personnel. 😂😂
-
When bread n butter is called our expectations are to be successful and it will be our setup for something else
-
A4. Exceed the avg yd per platform that game
-
A4 3-6 yards with a chance to break it.
-
A3: same so if all the coaches die they can still run them
-
A4: positive yards + smash mouth football
-
A4: Our expectation is correct execution of the assignment and get what we need when we call it...1st down, TD, etc
-
A4. Exceed the avg. yds per play for that game
-
Q5: Do you care about tendencies during the game when running your go-tos?
-
-
A5) Our tendencies should be so ingrained that it wont matter what the D calls. I want them to know, and be able to do nothing!
-
-
A5: I do a little...but mostly concerning the formation we run them...I don't want big tendencies to how we line up
-
A:5 if we are pounding the other team then tendencies don't matter. I may change formations to give next week's opp more to plan
-
-
A5) yes, if we can exploit our best play to make it better, heck yes! I'm pretty stubborn, I'll never get away from it.
-
A5: Yes, we may run it a different way based on the look. Add a different wrinkle for the same play https://t.co/UwUnzI1oS9
-
-
Q5: Do you care about tendencies during the game when running your go-tos?
-
A5: Everyone in our conference knows what everyone does. We are going to do what we do. It's up to you to stop it.
-
A5: negative we are going to punch you in the mouth. Good luck.
-
Defensively Tendencies are tough, almost never share them with the kids.
-
Q6: How do you incorporate your play-makers into your go-to plays?
-
All of our play calls are called with match ups in mind. We have someone to chart touches to make sure playmakers get touches
-
-
A6: give them the ball and point
-
A:6All of our play calls are called with match ups in mind. We chart touches to make sure playmakers get touches
-
I was being funny but really if I had no way to pass, jet or line him up at Q. If I snap it to him, he has it,,,
-
A6) We have a 6-6 WR with hops... and a bull at TE. Work the strengths. Fades and corners to WR, crossers and smokes to TE
-
A6: Match-ups and ball in their hands quickly. Big boy at RB knows he can't be stopped 1-on-1 with a DB in open field
-
Q7: What are your best drills you use to work your position's responsibility in your go to plays?
-
A6: We line them up and put them in position to best use their strengths...fast with hands, get him the ball now & let him work
-
A7 agility bags teach the path, tall bag for near automatic cut
-
A7) OL - pulls; getting across LOS,
RB - frames, hug the double team,
-
-
A7: For the OL, I make sure to work the first step & the fit & finish everyday...those are the most important to me this year
-
Had a good time tonight, been awhile, mountain time zone is throwing me off. Think about bring back on Tuesdays?
-
A7: cones for gaps, cuts off the tall bag. Mesh points. Correct steps.
