#personalizedPD chat. A fast-paced, fun chat to discuss personalized professional development for educators. We discuss what it is, why it's better than traditional PD, how to create personalized PD opportunities, how to scale it from individuals to districts, and how to inspire it from individuals to districts to want more and more of it. Hosted each week by Jason Bretzmann @jbretzmann and Kenny Bosch @KennyBosch and moderated each week by a guest moderator. 8pm Central each Tuesday.
Thank you for joining us tonight for #personalizedPD

Hello, #personalizedPD chat! Welcome! I'm Joy from IL, 7th grade ELA teacher and author of #ShiftThis (next chat at this same day/time in May), and I'm excited to moderate and curate ideas tonight!
Hello! I am Kenny Bosch, co-host and co-author of the #personalizedPD book. https://t.co/UKHXahxKzN
Thank you for joining us tonight.
Take a minute and invite some friends to join us.
Tonight's #personalizedPD chat will focus on your favorite sources in education. Please introduce yourself, including your grade level, subject, etc. so we can all connect!
#personalizedPD A2: Since the content I teach is very much like what a school counselor would talk about, I find school counselor blogs helpful. And, any elementary teaching blogs.
Hey #cultureed and #personalizedpd...gonna try to hop into both tonight. We will see how this works. Mandy Froehlich - Dir of Innovation & Tech - Wisconsin
That's usually what I do. What do I need? How can I find it? If it doesn't exist, how can I hack something to create it?
Is that some kind of learning process we can label?

It's time for the #Lurker shout out!
We love our lurkers at #personalizedPD
Come out, come out wherever you are! We would love to hear your thoughts. Join in, or not, it's cool.
A2 My most recent risk was creating a Teacher Demo Days activity for our Ts. It required them to create a presentation & I was running the risk it would fail because I didn't do a good job with buy-in. Went well. Post here: https://t.co/U9LgBTeT3V#cultureed#personalizedpd
A3 My favorite source for new technology is this #personalizedPD chat when our PLN suggests some new (to me) technology I look into it. Also, I just go to the iTunes and look for new apps in education.
Twitter provides so many resources. Gifs by @JakeMillerTech always teach me new skills, and I was recently tuned on to @pisdclick. Tips created by students for everyone! #personalizedPD
So true! There is a wealth of experience in this group. I often feel very out of my league. Who am I kidding? I feel that way a lot. š #personalizedPD

A3 I am always fascinated by what @JaimeDonally has to say about #arvrinedu whether it's in posts, blogs, or her book. She's amazing. @techamys is always sharing great stuff as well. #personalizedpd
So true. Of the many newsletters that come through my email inbox, Cory's is the one I open most and read through to the end. Good stuff. #personalizedPD
I took apart an entire dryer once (which turns out is approximately 56,952,168,537 pieces). Thanks to YouTube I somehow got it all back together and working again. So many great resources at our fingertips when we are willing and excited to learn #personalizedPD
A5: Sent a video explanation home last week to parents of how I'm redesigning the curriculum to be more authentic. Actually got feedback from a couple of parents. They liked learning the info and the thinking behind it. Used @TouchCast#personalizedPD
Yep. Last year they liked my @AdobeSpark newsletters with explanations of what we did in class, pictures of their juniors and some vids. #personalizedPD
I send home two-week updates. With photo movies. Hardly hear a peep from parents about it. https://t.co/Qo1MhsAvDt Sometimes I include a survey for feedback. Had one response so far this year. :( I need to do a better job! #personalizedPD
Just this week I created an @AdobeSpark Page as a newsletter for communication too. It embeds nicely in our LMS for Ts & Ss, and is an easy link to send home for Parents. I hope it is informative and helpful, weāll see #personalizedPD

A6 Of course the #personalizedpd crew! Love @jbormann3's Professionally Driven book I'm reading. @evanabramson gives me great ideas on how to make PD more engaging as well. He doesn't let me be boring :) Sometimes best learning about PD comes from listening to what Ts DON'T want.
