Some of our teachers are using it as a way to engage our students with audio file lessons. https://t.co/Wpi59Gc12A

A3: For a lot of our students at it was like a giant door was opened. Strategies made sense!
Tanny, I want to share/train your concepts with teachers who have not tried them. Advice?
A3: I definitely think having a "license" to sketch their thinking is amping up engagement in the rooms that are trying it.
A3: They realized it was OK to THINK and TALK, and the floodgates just opened!
Do you get the chance to try lesson ideas with students and model for teachers? https://t.co/GYH0uuwgvx

A4: For me, it has encouraged me to be practical and FUN in my approach to strategies.
A4: Also, that when you teach kids to think, other good things follow!
A4: has made comp strategies concrete for not only Ss, but for the Ts so they know how to intro them to Ss. HUGE!
A4: Can't wait to dig in to her Genre Connections book.
I have seen that, too. The light bulb comes on for both - especially with inferring.
A4: I think it has really helped teachers see how to explain ideas that have been challenging before.
I just shared Genre Connections with a teacher this week who wanted to use more poetry. Love the jar!
Agreed. I had the same experience!
Welcome - so glad you are here!!!

A2 Brain prep-S sketch when skimming /scanning text prior to reading. Then S compare/ contrast/ discuss thinking#tannyhcla16
My reflection has been to remember how important independent time to think is before talking about our thinking.
Q6 We(Ts)have 2be reflective&authentic in showing Ss how WE make sense of text&use the strategies. We must know how we use them
https://t.co/mmV37i52v1
Hi Everyone! I loved that Tanny's books were selling out bc that means =teachers trying new metacognitive strategies!
https://t.co/6NLzk1zajc
Ss created a scale visual for evidence and insight having = weight. Visual used w/think aloud to capture both, and reflect.
SO important! https://t.co/deCiPcYjGn
My reflection has been to remember how important independent time to think is before talking about our thinking.
A6: That unless we teach kids how to use rdg strategies to THINK- it doesn't matter WHAT skill instruction we cram into them.
Two minutes left, friends...any last minute thoughts or questions?
Yes- My friend says, "I need to show you what my brain is thinking so your brain can too" https://t.co/PR4jGCxByh
