I would be glad to share some beach, friendship warmth and sunshine but we are still lacking the warmth here. High hopes it returns by Monday. #BookCampPD
Good morning #bookcamppd ! Kimberly, K-5 Reading specialist from north TX where this is the first morning in almost a week waking up to temps above freezing.
I don't set reading goals for myself. I am always reading at least 2 books at a time. I am currently reading #InnovatorsMindset and Hardtack and Coffee. One for PD and the other for enjoyment. #bookcamppd
Shout out to my colleague and friend @MissCoffey5
She's always sharing her reading passion with me! Love finding random books on my desk from her!!! #bookcampPD

Let @mjjohnson1216 or I know if there is a problem.
We will do everything we can do help you!

I didn’t set any reading goals for 2018. It seems one book just leads to the next. Finished Innovator’s Mindset and Empower and just starting Lead Like A Pirate. #BookCampPD
Hello,
My name is Kimiko. I teach 6th-8th grade ELA in Chicago, Illinois.
Yes, I did set a reading goal and it was to read various books from @ProjectLITComm with my students this school year. #bookcamppd

I haven't set reading goals as such, but keep track of my reading with goodreads, so that I can compare my reading with previous year and reflect #bookcamppd
#bookcamppd We have a Numtmeg at Night trivia contest in my town, in which #students and #teachers can answer trivia questions about the #Nutmegbooks. I have all of the teen selections in my Amazon cart to get ready.
I’m not sure whether or not I met my reading goal for 2017 ‘cause I forgot to keep track. Lol! However, I have set a goal through Goodreads for 2018, much more modest than in previous years, even though I read lot. This year plan to keep track of it though. #bookcamppd
Last year I set a goal to read 1 book a month and I probs my got to half of that. Which is still better than before. Think I want that same goal this year. #bookcampPD
#bookcamppd bottom right is my Xmas stack. I keep notes from reads on my website to keep track and share out my learning for others to benefit

A1. I had a pretty busy week but before all of the excitement started I shipped off these books to the lucky winners from last week's #BookCampPD chat.
A1: I borrowed and finished Kids Deserve It and got Teach Like A Pirate as a "saw this and totally thought of you" gift. In addition, I make a list on my phone's notes app for all media I don't want to forget to consume. #bookcamppd
A1: I received "Greatest Inspirational Quotes" by Dr. Joe Tichio. I look forward to reading it several times this year and beyond. There are some great sources of inspiration that I've found so far. #BookCampPD
A1: These were my gift card purchases. My friend convinced me to try @goodreads a couple years ago to keep track of my reading, and I LOVE it! #bookcamppd

One thing to help me with the one book a month goal is by joing a book club. Just joined @spencerideas#EmpowerBook club. Helps to have a community. #bookcamppd
A1) I got these for my holiday reading - the power of moments, spark learning, four O’clock faculty #bookcamppd
I keep track of read, want to read etc using goodreads
A1 I guess I am old school. I have a stack of books, and I work through them one at a time, writing things in a notebook.
I bought on the rest of the pirate books, Innovator's mindset and a couple @neiltyson books #bookcamppd

A1) No books for the holidays specifically, but I did "fill up" on some free books from amazon (Kindle) about a week ago: A room with a view, The Great Gatsby, This Side of Paradise, & Little Women, The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin. All pleasure books, obviously. #bookcamppd
A1: Strategies that Work V.3 just arrived the other day otherwise I read for fun. Wishtree and Ban THis Book Loved them both and I put my reading on my blog. #bookcamppd
A2 I didn't get any book related gift cards this year, but lots of Target and Panera. I bought class stuff at Target, and then went to BN and bought 5 books for myself! #bookcamppd
I never gravitated to memoirs but found one I loved a couple years ago (End of Life Book Club by @WillSch ) and it hooked me. Have read several now. Not into historical fiction so trying that this year. #bookcamppd

A1: Culturize and For White Folks that Teach in the Hood. I don’t really have an official system for keeping track. My bookshelf, books in my kindle library, books in my audible library. My TBR list is my Amazon wishlist #bookcamppd
A2: got Learn Like a Pirate and Innovators Mindset so far with my gift cards, added Teach Like A Pirate and CULTURIZE to my Amazon cart. #bookcamppd is one of my go to resources for worthwhile texts! You guys rock!
Yes. I can't do e-books. My team member told me there is a Japanese for buying books to have but not reading them. I think I am guilty of that sometimes #bookcamppd
A2: I didn't get any gift cards or many gifts this year. My wife and I took our two kids to a Cruise to the Bahamas. We have been trying to transition from giving material gifts to trying to gift experiences...a food tour, gift card to a new restaurant etc. #bookcamppd
A2: No gift cards but that's not stopping book-buying! I usually get book suggestions from my #PLN or my Principal Principles FB group @principalsteph1#bookcamppd
A2 @MrSchuReads recommendations are always solid. But I’m determined to read books that DIDN’T make the “must read”/ “best of” lists. There are so many that deserve attention. #BookCampPD
A2. Often I am scrolling through Twitter and I come across something someone has posted. The other day I did and quickly asked @teresagross625 if she had heard about the book. #BookCampPD
I am hoping to get a post ready this weekend to participate there too! 8 have read most of the posts shared already and it will be great to have another place to collaborate about books/reading! #bookcamppd#Read4Fun#bookexcursion
A2 Now that I have access to an amazing public library system, I find it hard to justify buying books at my local bookstore. So, I’m waiting patiently 2 figure out which books I might want 2 own hard copies. I use all kinds of lists online by all kinds of folks. #bookcamppd
Agreed! This summer I went to the library and would just did what we teach the kids, read the back! Found Genevieve's War that way and loved it! #bookcamppd
A2)buying formative five ,culturize,code breaker #bookcamppd
Suggestion from #bookcamppd, twitter, voxer study groups and of course reviews and something that catches my eye, interests me
A2: I have not yet started a new book. However, there are several on my list. The last book I read was called Contagious by Jonah Berger. It was a great read about why things catch on. I look forward to making it part of my personal/professional collection. #BookCampPD
My bookshelves are filled with decades of my ASCD books. So many of them helped guide my decisions and those of educators I lent them to over the years. #BookCampPD
#BookCampPD A2 I didn't get any gift cards either. But, reccommendations from colleagues, Twitter, and from Amazon for what to read next for PD. Twitter and YALSA help with my YA picks, too.
I bought books to help me improve my practice and books that I am interested in reading with my students. I keep track of the books that I want to read and would like to read by taking screen shots to them. Then, I raid my local Barnes and Noble!! #bookcamppd
A3: currently reading #Leadlap and two kids books. I make time. Get away from distractions an hour before bed and read, read at lunch, listen to audio books on my hour drive to work #wildreader#bookcamppd
Right now I am reading Lost at School - great so far! I really like to have paper copies of my professional books - easy to take notes and loan out. I "read" audiobooks for pleasure in my car driving to work that I check out through @OverDriveLibs#bookcamppd
A3: Right now Better Together, I am hoping to read either The Crossover or Booked before Monday just for fun. But that is lofty because I want to do so much with my 2 days before holidays ends haha #bookcamppd
A2 part 2 #bookcamppd I bought this one and can’t say enough about it. Great read-aloud for beginning of 5th or end of 4th. Or anytime. Two voices. Two boys who have to go to RSP —and one was the smartest kid in his class before they moved to the US.
A3 Currently started #4OCF for a #voxer book study. It's going to be a great group to learn with! #bookcamppd I don't get to read until after dinner, but I try to make the time.
A3: I am reading Culturize and today I'm starting Talk Read Talk Write with our #ELLchat_bkclub tweeps! Also reading The Hate you Give
Challenging my bilingual brain!
#bookcampPD
I know that reflecting on my reading habits has pushed me to explore new genres and at least give it a try. I remember passing on The Help at first and then when I finally read it I was mad at myself for not reading sooner because it was so good!! #bookcamppd#Read4Fun

Picked up "Lean in" by Sheryl Sandberg at the airport last week. So hooked on to it #bookcamppd
A3: I read in all the spare moments of my day. In the morning before my kids wake up, when I'm cooking and waiting for something to finish, in the bath. I'm reading Made to Stick and Social Ledia. #bookcamppd
A2: I have a $10 Target gift card. I am not sure what I will get with it yet. However, I love building a literature list that is engaging for my students from educators on Twitter because they have introduced me to titles I probably would have never chosen on my own.
#bookcamppd
A3: finishing up Do Hard Things and starting Empower. Wake up early before kids do. Best way to start the day. Wife and I are trying to read the whole bible this year. #bookcamppd@JJ2tweet
A3) Currently Reading "A Room W/A View". I make a commitment to read at least 20 mins a/day (but strive for more). I'm also working in speed by trying to scoop up many words at once. #BookCampPd
I don’t know how to ‘find’ groups from the app itself. I usually see something here and then ask to join. I manage #Read4Fun group and @teresagross625 does #bookcamppd
