Good evening. Jumping in late. Ready to talk discipline.

A1: We are big on natural consequences and restoring relationships as part of discipline process.

A2: Students play a major role as we talk through and complete steps for them to make things right.

Q3: The primary purpose of discipline is to correct behaviors. Why does our current discipline system fail to fully achieve this?

A3: we are missing the conversation piece ! Current system tends to be out of sight & out of mind .

Q4: Restorative practices place students at the center of resolving conflict. What are the benefits of such a system for schools?

Q3: I would argue that discipline is intended to change behaviors and there must be an intrinsic currency for effectiveness.

Q4: Students at the center encourages student ownership in addition to personal reflection. ..giving words to feelings.

beginning a Peer Mediation program. It gives student A VOICE!

Q5: What are the potential drawbacks to restorative practices in our schools?

A5: The fixed mindset/old school perceptions and time constraints.
