#Edtechchat focuses on Education Technology. Co-founder Tom Murray says #edtechchat "connects us professionally with inspiring educators from all over the world, all of who encourage us to be better every day for the children and families we serve.”
Day 80 of #185in52 A faux mini-succulent to welcome Mr. Adams. He started "student teaching" with us last week & we look forward to learning with and from him. It is critical to mentor the next generation of educators. @UMaine_COEHD@rsu_26@OronoHighSchool#RiotPride
A1 Personal goal of getting healthier(rather ambiguous), professional improving a couple areas of practice, getting back to making videos....not exactly really sharp goals, but its a starting point. #edtechchat
A1: We hired an Instructional Technology Specialist this year to work with our schools and also coordinate outside PD. One of my main goals was to help ensure his success and make sure he was a valuable part of our team! #edtechchat
A1) I want to Blog this year, and keep up with it...I also want to get healthier and learn more... I also want to be present, to be a presents, and to present. It's my next blog post. #EdTechChat
A1 My Ss and I are working on revised goals this week. My goals include keeping a neater workspace, better work-life balance, and always asking "why" #edtechchat
A1: only goal is to take a more empathetic approach in everything I do. It’s all about relationships. Understanding one another. Achieving together.
#edtechchat
Interesting...spent some time looking at this. Bloomboard is an excellent place to get some ideas. They have a complete platform, but you can still see their ideas. If you have an LMS they may also have resources #edtechchat
I really want to do badging - but it is hard to get started if you already have LMS platforms that are pretty rigid. Would love to do something simple outside of it #edtechchat

A2 #edtechchat I am on track so far. I put time to focus on one of my goals- an EdTech textbook proposal- on my calendar. I’ve completed my scheduled writing times consistently for 7 weeks. With the new year, I’m reinvigorated.
A1&2: my goals are to find 2 teachers who are not well supported and give them some encouragement & support. I have to clear some work with other responsibilities first. Working on that to give me the time. Anyone else have a time issue? :) #EdTechChat
A1 #edtechchat Well I started things off with a new blog, but over Christmas Break, I decided to revamp it and change the focus. Hope to have the new one up in a week or two.
Mozilla has a nice platform, and I became familiar with badgr when I was looking around. #edtechchat...Some schools have made this work with just a website... https://t.co/RpakWjL8w2#edtechchat

Absolutely. He’s been a great addition to the team. We received a TON of applicants and we narrowed it down to three and we made the right choice. Fortunately, we were a pretty open canvas for him to explore. Happy to chat more offline with more characters lol #edtechchat
A2 All three of my goals are still viable. My work space was left in some semblance of order (@ajpodchaski, a small 3ft x 2ft stand up desk) my take home work is manageable, and tomorrow I interrogate reality regarding our curriculum and schedule. #edtechchat
I like this idea. I noticed workouts always encourage us to do repetitions until failure. Why not other areas of life where we are trying to grow? #edtechchat
A2: I’m def On track for the #ISTEcert - We also made it a prof practice goal for my whole office so we can support each other. Badging - rely on my team. Also launching a new tech plan and supporting 50+ teachers towards google cert #edtechchat
This works because:
1. Simple, clear, SHORT info
2. Cartoons / jokes included
3. Additional info found on additional visits to restroom.
4. Repeat simple instructions - teachers aren't embarrassed by asking over & over.
#edtechchat
A2: Yes!! We have been actively conducting PD with our staff and students and we are planning PD for the summer. Just completed a needs assessment as well. New and great ideas. #edtechchat
A1.1 I also am starting a new program to lead teachers through Level 1 and 2 Google Certification. Am partnering with two teachers to design a class using blended tools. #edtechchat
A1&2 joining late from Indiana. I have taken @ajjuliani 's blogging challenge and have decided to write an average of 100 words per day and publish 2 blog posts a week for 30 days. So far, I am on track. https://t.co/I8u1fotIiJ#edtechchat
A3 Jumping in late. Hoping to finish my Google level 2 certification and learn how to use my new Android phone. Lol. https://t.co/2q6KwEl3b1#edtechchat
A3: #edtechchat my 2019 goal is to practice self care more and be a mentor to the younger teachers in the building. Education is a journey and it’s about progress not perfection!
Join us in our certification class. :) We are starting in March. I am hoping to guide 15 teachers through Level 1 and Level 2. I am getting things set up now in Google Classroom, and Google Sites, to manage the process. #edtechchat
DM your email address. I will add you to the list. #edtechchat THat would be really cool to demonstrate to our teachers how we can even include people not in the district. #edtechchat
A4 - personal goal to continue healthy lifestyle and get through these first two doctorate classes. Prof goal- continuing supporting Principlas and teachers through our districts digital transformation #edtechchat
A4 #OneNote - links to tutorials and articles to read, blogpost ideas, and, in general, it keeps me organized. Hopefully, I’ll pass my certifications and post some blog entries that others will find helpful. #edtechchat
A3: personal goal to continue healthy lifestyle and get through these first two doctorate classes. Prof goal- continuing supporting Principlas and teachers through our districts digital transformation #edtechchat
A4.1 For my organization, I use the ticket count in my helpdesk and other plugins to help organize it (since tickets were the source of my frustration). As for getting back to my other goals, I will probably have to carve out time for blogging and ... #edtechchat
Sometimes the old ways are the best ways! My problem with lists is that I always keep adding to them, and never seem to get them finished, so I get discouraged. #edtechchat
A3: I want to finish my makerspace at work and home - get the blog going - create a summer stem experience - get my drone pilot license....way to much to do! #edtechchat
I started simply sending them a calendar invite. In the notification email, I explain why I want to visit. So far, I have not had one decline the invite. I have had to reschedule, but all seem willing. Just make sure you say NOT an evaluation! #edtechchat
A new goal is to help my colleagues discover the new innovation lab can be a powerful learning space. My Ss enjoyed their first deep dive this morning. #edtechchat
A4 I also find that sharing my goals with my students is very helpful. They ask me about them and how I am doing. I would hate to be embarassed that I am not following through when I am trying to inspire them to follow through on meeting their goals.........#edtechchat
A5: excited - lots of new things happening here in the Woo and I’m excited to be a part of it. We have amazing teachers and students and it’s exciting to see how they are embracing the change #edtechchat
A5: My word is #achieve - there is a lot i want to do for the year, and talking or thinking always gets in my way. I need more do, less plan. #edtechchat
A5 I shared my goals with my Ss and we are all taking the one word challenge. My #oneword is WHY. I want to make sure everything we do in school is in the service of learning & with students (& their futures) at the center. #edtechchat
Then definitely mention that. :) “I’m trying to better understand classroom needs to better serve Ss and staff. Is there a day I could see your Ss in action using technology?” #edtechchat
A5: I did not yet, but if I was to, mine would be forward. (Thank you WI) I plan to always look forward. Every day is a new day, a new challenge. I am moving forward with the CETL exam and my masters program. Just keep er movin. #edtechchat
A5: EMBRACE I want to embrace each moment and savor the goodness that may come from it. I want to embrace change that benefits me and/or my students. I want to embrace people that need encouragement. EMBRACE. #edtechchat
A5 I have not. I think though it would be PERSEVERE. Reason why: lots of changes coming up this year, personally and professionally, and I think it will take a lot of perseverence to get through the next 12 months. #edtechchat
A5: Perseverance - Need to support and roll out new initiatives and no excuses for not meeting our goals. I need to hold myself to a higher standard, especially if I expect it from others. #edtechchat
I am guessing instead of the wide swath I was trying I'll have to make it targeted because I explained that very thing in my form and it didn't work. Oh well, can't look back. #edtechchat
My #OneWord2017 was 𝔻𝕚𝕤𝕔𝕠𝕧𝕖𝕣.
My #OneWord2018 was ℝ𝕖𝕒𝕔𝕙.
My #OneWord2019 is 𝕀𝕞𝕡𝕒𝕔𝕥.
#Grateful for the impact that so many people in my life have on me. I will strive to pay it forward and make a positive impact on others in 2019. #HappyNewYear
The space is intended to be a collaborative area extending classroom work AND inspiring playful exploration. We purposefully delayed the opening of the space so we could engage with Ts to ideate how they might use it so we could be responsive and proactive. #edtechchat#makered
They’d have to first take time to read it AND then fill it out. Unlikely. Some are humble about their teaching talent. Praise a skill, mention that you want to learn. Ask admins for specific names they’d suggest you approach. #edtechchat
A6 The list is pretty endless. Security, tools to use in the classroom, management tools, etc.. maybe some topics on different certifications for education, as well as technology. #edtechchat
A6 Maybe a problem solving chat. Post something you’d like assistance with and let’s see if the Twitterverse can help. Kind of like @the_IT_factor posting about getting into classrooms. Use our group strengths! #edtechchat
A6- It seems like there are so many different sets of standards all provided by reputable organizations. I’d be curious around which standards people use and follow in their classrooms and why. #edtechchat
A6 Using technology for social good, global collaboration, digital citizenship, accessibility, educator mental health, sharing of struggles/lesson fails, sharing of best lessons and resources. #edtechchat
