It's 8pm EST!! Welcome to the #WeAreWayne Twitter chat! So glad you’re here! Supposed to be 2 degrees Thursday night. Brrr!!! Tell us who you are, where you're from, and your plan for beating this Polar Vortex we're in currently. #WeAreWayne
I'm Robbie Grimes. eLearning Specialist for MSD Wayne Twp. I'm planning to grab some hot chocolate and huddle under some covers, close my eyes, and hope Spring comes quickly!! #WeAreWayne
Brad Rinehart / Biology & AVID teacher at 9th grade center. Plans are to watch movies with the kids and/or be in a bowling center preparing for semi-state playoffs with the BD Boys bowling team #WeAreWayne

Q1: Singin’ the blues recently? Down in the dumps? What kind of Mid-Winter “funk” are you currently entrenched in? Is it curricular? Is it instructional? Lack of ideas? #WeAreWayne#EdTech
A1: To be honest, I don't mind winter at all. I actually find myself more focused & prepared since there aren't other distractions drawing me away from the classroom. Recently used Flipgrid for selfie responses to the ethics of stem cell research #Interesting#WeAreWayne
Chris Landis, Bridgeport Assistant Principal, wrapping up in my Purdue T-shirt quilt and watching Netflix. A1: I’m always looking for new ideas to share with our staff in my morning news report. #wearewayne@BPEKnights
Q2: The temps went from 3 degrees yesterday to 41 degrees today. What kind of forecast do you see for your immediate future? What does your upward trend from your current FUNK look like? How you gonna get out? #WeAreWayne#EdTech
A1: So many ideas, so many to choose from! Constantly trying to find what works and what doesn’t as a first year teacher. Also, not being able to go outside for recess to get our energy out. #FullofEnergy#WeAreWayne
A2: I will be researching and connecting with other teacher to see what they are using and doing in their classrooms to get me out of my funk. (If you're doing something new and cool in your classroom, let me know!) #wearewayne
A2: rally around my awesome team at GCE to spark new ideas & motivate/hold one another accountable! Our leadership team has a great book study going right now. #WeAreWayne
Q2: For me, my students always help me get out of the winter blues. After Winter break light bulbs usually start going off more frequently. Many "aha's" happen from now until the end of the year. #wearewayne
A2: I’m teaching a Child Development class at Marian U. this semester. It always makes me happy to see how excited these students are to learn best practices. Helps me too! #wearewayne@BPEKnights
A2: Seeing the change in my students from first quarter, even the second quarter, to now! It’s like something magical happens over break and they just come back ready for the quarter and the second half of the year! #WeAreWayne
A2: Do my best to "stay the course" & be as consistent as possible. Spend more time nurturing positive relationships with students to help buy into successful habits. This time of year, freshman who made mistakes first semester are finally starting to figure it out #WeAreWayne
Q3: Unlike the weather, we have the ability to influence our own climate in some pretty significant ways. Where are the best places you go to for new ideas? A trip to Cabo in February maybe? #WeAreWayne#EdTech

A3: The never-fail cute to my funk is ALWAYS @halfpricebooks! Whether it’s engaging and diverse books for our classroom library, or a book to take me somewhere else, I can always count on reading to bring me up! #WeAreWayne
A3: I go to my team for great ideas. We have very experiences members and a new teacher and the combination is good to generate many ideas new and old. #wearewayne
A3: I look to my twitter PLN, and a few blogs that I read. I'm currently looking for a new book to read after finishing Empower and Launch this summer. Suggestions? #wearewayne
A3: Alone in my office works best for me! Put on the tunes and looking at new ideas being put out from other amazing educators through social media. #NeverFails#WeAreWayne
Q4: What’s a new EdTech tool, approach, or strategy that you’ve recently heard about that you’re looking forward to implementing this spring? Put a link here if you're able. #WeAreWayne#edtech
A3: Follow Jennifer Serravallo, author of The Reading Strategies Book, The Writing Strategies Book, and Understanding Texts and Readers. Down to earth, useful ideas. #wearewayne@BPEKnights
A4: Here's another video editing tool I learned about today. Not exactly video editing as much as video creating, but cool none the less!! https://t.co/JToc8IhLi1#WeAreWayne
A4: recently found PearDeck, which allows you to have student laptops sync to a presentation which follows your pace and students can see everything you do. https://t.co/1hZPgA7RvV#WeAreWayne
