I had my Ss research this situation, as well. Too much misinformation out there! https://t.co/5x92OSsYso
A3 1 more thing..it is important for DC to be timely. Had a great disc before break about the clown frenzy w/SS.
A5 I'm constantly sharing with colleagues about what I'm reading/learning on Twitter!
A4 provides teachers great resources (age appropriate), makes for a great starting convo with Ss. A4b Modeling!
A5: Model, model, model. Encourage Ts, Admin to join chat. Host chat at your site so newbies can understand… https://t.co/I6JLN9yzhF
Q5: How can you inspire other educators and students to become Digital Citizenship leaders?
A5- We have to inspire our edus & kids through education & that starts in kindergarten like we teach our kids to read & write!
A5: That is a hard one but I have found honey works well. I try to make everything sweet for others to want to taste. (1 of 2)
A5) Showing people the impact an effective leader can have seems to be the best way to inspire!
A5 - by using and encouraging usage. has done a great job getting mid-del tweeting with
A4. Also has some great resources
A4: I feel our Ss do know the right and wrong of what to post on SM, the failure is being able to empathize with their audience.
A5: Be positive; make an impact; be a blessing; encourage all https://t.co/rMc8YTs5xC
Q5: How can you inspire other educators and students to become Digital Citizenship leaders?
A5 I think having Ss teach their peers about and can be powerful for everybody!
It took me 5 years to get Ts in my building interested in PBL but now I am going to have my Geometry PLC join me (2 of 2)
A5: to challenge the status quo. To push the limits. To not settle. To not take the easy way.
A5 Invite to Twitter chats for them to see for themselves - seeing is believing. https://t.co/E4UgZLR1g0
Q5: How can you inspire other educators and students to become Digital Citizenship leaders?
Lead by example, let your Ss brag about what's going on in your classes, Ask T newcomers to collab. with u on a Tech. project
modeling ways in which I am excitedly and responsibly using technology to make life more enjoyable and productive.
A5) Don't be afraid to let the S's on their devices. https://t.co/qPAktE4BZx
Q5: How can you inspire other educators and students to become Digital Citizenship leaders?
Yep, and sometimes it's best to just walk away. Saying nothing is often the most powerful thing to do.
A5) If I can model events similar to our Ed chats with my Ts and help open communication then they may try with their Ss
A5) Be a positive influence! Start tech ed in the early elementary years.
I just sent you a calendar invite for tomorrow and a DM. Talk to you soon :)
A5) Provide real scenario/examples. The experience isn't learning but the reflection of the experience. https://t.co/viPjqllZ7a
A5 Inspire them to be the best person they can be on or offline... if they aren't solid offline neither will they be online!
A5: IMO, the battle is seeing the importance. I try to have others imagine growing up in this... Most of us would be in trouble!
A5 - until our T’s become active digital users, it’s for them to teach digital citizenship. Gotta get T’s more active
A1: I want 2 create digital ambassadors in 5th & 6th gr who learn respectful use of SM & post 2 school SM. … https://t.co/nkVKtXqyTa
Q5: How can you inspire other educators and students to become Digital Citizenship leaders?
A5 I think student led tech teams would be a great place to start with conversations!
Yes. Aside from completely inappropriate posting, we have to be aware of the possible ways to read what we write.
A5: If we could influence more Ts to get active online, it would be a start. So many still refuse to use social media as a tool.
A5 May have Ss that have fallen victim to inapproprate online behavior share their experiences and lead the discussion
Good point! I find online behavior is an extension of offline behavior.
A5) Word of mouth. Keep talking about the great things you're learning through social media and other digital devices.

A5) Just what I was going to say! https://t.co/sfPyOJ5Cp3
A5) Word of mouth. Keep talking about the great things you're learning through social media and other digital devices.
A5: Give people time, training, resources - most of all - the vision and purpose for growth. Everything takes leadership.
Yes...it is so easy for online conversations to be misinterpreted in the absence of context
A5. Let the Ss be creators as well as consumers when it comes to technology, but thinking what is age appropriate.
If they are comfortable doing so, that could be a powerful experience for all students.
A5 Would like to see promoted state-wide next year! Let’s create & collaborate together
Q6 coming up in one minute!
I have people like this, too. I'm usually concerned that what I write will sound snarky when I'm angry. Best to wait.
and I should give credit to Mike Ribble & the Central Minnesota Libraries Exchhange
The delayed send is one of my best tools, keeps me from putting mouth ahead of brain
A5 Until you make integrating tech. Look as easy as a Rachel Ray 30 min meal lots of Ts won't buy in!
I started one about six months ago... I have two posts so far... But I stand by both of them! ;-)
NEVER send when you are angry or upset
