Good evening ! Cathy, edtech specialist in NYC from NJ.
welcome to our neighbors up north!
Alex, views technology as a path to creativity and authorship, more than as a user.
A1: Their talents and skills must must be shared in any medium
A1: fostering creativity and innovation forces students to develop skills to solve problems on their own.
A1: By encouraging Ss to embrace their creativity and innovation, it opens a new path for new ideas and new thinking.
thanks for being here Angela
that your school is hosting your own chat is awesome!
Congratulations on having survived day 1. Hope the disbelief is in a good way???
Its not about how many apps you use but rather using the appropriate apps and devices at the appropriate times....leverage
Welcome Angela! You go, girl!
thanks for the retweets today!
That's what I'm talking about - although it's lacking in glitter. Kids must have made it - not you.
so glad to have you here Cathy
Glad to have you with us Shelley!
A1 There is never a bad idea! All voices need to be heard. Students need to feel comfortable in their learning spaces.
great to have your voice here Alex
A1 Jobs which don't involve creativity are simply vanishing to automation, or to labor that underbids automated approaches.
A1: By encouraging Ss to embrace their creativity and innovation, it opens a new path for new ideas and new thinking.
Hi everyone! I'm Debbie, computer teacher from Plainedge, NY.
Q2: The encouragement allows students to become better problem solvers and to think outside of the box!
Congrats on the first day of school :)
A1: It's important to encourage creativity so your Ss can apply their learning BEYOND your classroom! https://t.co/P8OGX79jA3
Jill K-8 librarian from NH.
A1: We don’t want the Ss to just be able to regurgitate things. They need to be able to create things https://t.co/3u5Sezk0AG
Q1: Why is it important to encourage students to show creativity and innovation with and without ?
Hi all. Joining late, high school library media teacher from CA.
Thanks, hopefully I can add a thought or two :)
A1: Encouraging creativity and innovation can lead to true learning that literally last a lifetime.
welcome Jill! Just got home from camping vaca in NH! I
so glad to have you with us in
A1: engagement! The tools should support the students and allow them to create their own learning!
A1: Creativity starts with students having a voice in the classroom and in their learning
Exactly. Why hammer a nail with a shovel?
is so important! https://t.co/Oi5TCd32fG
A1: Creativity starts with students having a voice in the classroom and in their learning
A1: Creativity and innovation help solve problems.
A1: It allows Ss to think of potentials jobs, that we have not fathom as yet
Howdy all. Parent night for BoyChild. I will try to give and take as I can.
A1 can be a medium for sharing and distributing. But the physical experience of creating is extremely valuable for life
A1: It allows Ss to explore, design, and try without risk of failure. Puts Ss in the driver seat & allows them to seek answers.
A1: Definitely important to use a balance to reinforce idea of the right tool for the right job. No 1 size fits all
Loving the student voice post
A1 Because those who aren't the most technically adept should know there's no perfect way to create and innovate.
A1: it keeps getting stated we are prepping learners for jobs that don't exist yet...so education needs to extend beyond today
A1: Because there is a big difference between active and passive use!
A1 it meets students where they are at yet challenges them
A1: Creativity and innovation are like muscles. Ss need practice using them https://t.co/T9EKDscDkL
Q1: Why is it important to encourage students to show creativity and innovation with and without ?
Tom SS, teacher CT. A1:Less tests and more projects with multiple options to display understanding, creativity and innovation.
been giving tours of Rio this evening...
A1: Love when Ss get lost in their work. Completely zone out because they are so focused on what they are working on.
Q2 coming up in 1 minute…
to encourage innovation in all forms w/ & w/out tech
Agreed!! https://t.co/q2u3bDgvr5
A1: Definitely important to use a balance to reinforce idea of the right tool for the right job. No 1 size fits all
if only they had live VR of the olympics.....
gives students the ability to share their creativity much more widely than in years past!
So key...like adults....all kids don't embrace so be open minded https://t.co/7yRYFWHnxf
A1 Because those who aren't the most technically adept should know there's no perfect way to create and innovate.
A1 Creativity is fun and engaging, or is that just me?
So many apps to give Ss their voice -
Q2: How much of a role does creativity and innovation with play within STEAM?
Thanks Sharon! Excited to participate in my first
Students in "flow" is my favorite thing too!
great to see another educator on
some of the swimshots were cool, but given the processing speed, they could have done some cool things In near time
the world needs new ideas. No one pays people well who are consumers. They want producers.
A1: Encouraging S creativity spills into other areas. Maybe Ss will take risks in the areas that they feel more comfortable
Hey all Michael from here. A little late…mostly observing tonight
A2: A drive for innovation and creativity helps us push the boundaries in STEAM areas https://t.co/JPFsQE8Yyi
Q2: How much of a role does creativity and innovation with play within STEAM?
A2: The A in steam represents the Arts which are all about creativity!
we love new voices and perspectives! hope you keep coming back!
and to collaborate globally furthering creativity.
Ss see each other differently. They see each other's strengths.
A2: It is INSEPERABLE from STEAM! I'm going to have my Ss make marshmallow towers & mosaics in math engage their creativity!
A1. We need Ss to have big ideas and explore their creativity, that's how we move forward.
My system in AL just adopted STEAM this year. I am using Spheros to engage kids in coding and innovation
Those apps allow students to share their voice. Students must be encouraged before you get there https://t.co/B5ligQreLg
So many apps to give Ss their voice -
A1: I wasn't much of a risk-taker as a S, until I went to for pastry. Took HUGE risks with work and creativity
Definitely not just you. Engaging Ss is all about giving them freedom to explore their passions & create.
A2: STEAM and project-based learning go hand in hand -- innovation, creativity and collaboration solve challenges
A2 It's a huge role - or else everyone is reinventing the wheel! Bring on the challenges, turn the "can'ts" into "why nots"
I think that STEAM, in all capacities, is driven by innovation and creativity. Its about the autonomy of creation without fear.
Running late for — Bath time for my son :0)
A2 It is STEAM...planning problem solving, failing, and revising are the foundation of the innovation process
Great to have you with us Michael :-)
What is the current question?
A2 STEM is all about creativity & innovation, and art is sometime creativity for creativity's sake.
We can encourage by creating a safe environment where Ss are encouraged to take risks & supported when they fail
A1: Ss learn big ideas can become reality
I feel is the most I giving method for students to broaden their creative horizons.
To me the acronym of STEAM is the essence of incorporating and to meet learning and learner needs
that is where it has to start
A2 it allows a variety if options so failure isn't negative- there is something for everyone
A2: I think creativity and innovation should be interwoven as often as possible into STEAM.
Love that! Your 1st graders are going to do wonderful things with you getting them started!
Q2: How much of a role does creativity and innovation with play within STEAM?
better late than never! Welcome Eva!
:) I have one too. Need to figure out what scenarios I want my Ss to work on.
A2 Graphics, both for visualization, and more artistic endeavors like movie production is a great and engaging application.
A1. edtech allows Ss to visualize classroom concepts and gives them some perspective on what they can create!
Q2: I like to think of STEAM as the engineering model, what's the prob and design a solution. Can't do that without C and I
A2 STEAM and tech go together encouraging collaboration, innovation, problem solving, and creativity.
A2: hopefully I’ll be able to answer Q. Starting Mural/ Maker class 4 SPED students. Doing mural/ wearable LED/ drones/ robot
A2: Oh goodness, creativity & innovation should part of everything our Ss do.
A2 huge roll. Trial and error at its finest. Think, test, observe, retry if needed
I would even say it is required.
Yes! And impossible to I'm possible. .
Hello Susan and Eva. How are you two doing? How is it in D.C., Susan?
A1 to encourage innovation in all forms w/ & w/out tech
where’d you get em? I want 1 or 2
Exactly. Otherwise you stay still and don’t move forward.
A2: If students are not creative or innovative .. what are the doing?
love these thoughts of and
A2: Edtech provides choices & an authentic audience. Ss can ask experts for advice or seek comments to deepen lrng.
Hi Paula! Loving D.C. so far! How are things in NOLA?
STEAM is about driving learning and discovery. It needs to be unique, thoughtful, and well designed. https://t.co/UndyZzChbo
A2 STEAM = Makers. Makers need creativity and innovation to build our future.
hello Paula! How are you?? Are you flood safe?
Now to show them how leveraging everyone's strengths makes the class stronger ....
We need to make sure Ss have the necessary tools & background, but Ss can learn those through their own research
better late than never. Tapping in from Knoxville, TN
A2 to truly be creative, you must be grounded in knowledge. STEAM builds the knowledge
Better late than never, Karen! Glad you could make it!
our district is bringing in biz leaders for just this point. Shares your fails and how they lead to end.
A2: Gives Ss the opportunity to solve problems and see that there might be more than one solution https://t.co/5XouE3u20v
Q2: How much of a role does creativity and innovation with play within STEAM?
Preparing for a world that no longer values compliance and factory workers https://t.co/zEl2XIY8md
A2: If students are not creative or innovative .. what are the doing?
High and dry here in NOLA thank goodness. So much as LA is flooded.
Yes they can. Ss need to take ownership of their learning.
Q3 coming up in 1 minute…
Just tech or too much tech can hinder creativity and innovation too. Some things are better "hands on" https://t.co/bSEW2HhwPp
A1 to encourage innovation in all forms w/ & w/out tech
can you tell me how your students will use tech in this activity? Just curious...
and do we forget it's work because it's so fun and engaging? And could that be the definition of engaging?
Yeah, so... isn't going to happen while moderating. What was I thinking! I'll catch up to you guys later! 😂
Love to see schools bring in authentic audience for Ss. Share how they get up from failure. Most important part
Q3: How does allowing students to show to “show what they know” with allow for ease of differentiation?
Hi, late from Pgh, Span & tchr, A2 gives Ss rm to be creative & innovative explore
So right. There is no failure it's just roll up sleeves and create, innovate, apply tools, yet again
A2: The arts in steam embraces the many styles of learning of Ss especially students with IEPs
A2: If your STEAMprogram doesn't include innovation and experimentation, I don't think you are being creative
One question though, is how many teacher programs cover technology creation as opposed to technology use?
I'm slowly moving away from that in my classroom. 😄
A3: If Ss can “show what they know” you will get a room full of slightly different ideas. Everyone learns differently.
Like pointed out - we need to build a safe environment first. Teach them it's ok to fail
You nailed it. Tools. They are all tools. Pick the right one to enhance and elevate the learning.
Very true Alex! Higher education needs to prepare Ts for what they will see in the classroom.
A3: Allowing students to express learning in their own way lets you see who gets it and can move forward
A3: Ss can show what they know through multiple modalities such as pictures, video & voice recording! is a great tool!
A 3 it offers equality for all Ss - ie introverts may benefit by having a voice.
A3 Ss can use tech they are comfortable with, allows them to present in a familiar way w/o stress of how to show what they know
- I think it's important to have a mix of both in higher education
Well said, Alex. always says "voice and choice"
A3 Delivering digital curriculum allows the T to step to the side and let Ss construct their own learning
Such a great point, Alex!
Dan, personal finance and AP Econ teacher from St. Louis jumping in late.
A3 When sts have a chance to show what they know with ts may learn from them. Sts can teach peers and "teach up"
A3: Edtech can unleash the genius in the reluctant ones. There is genius in our Ss edtech unlocks it.
Too few! Also how many school still teach 'technology' as separate course? Too Many! Integrate it or don't do it.
Hey Renee White joining from NC a bit late.
a3: helps Ss think about best way to communicate what they know both for selves and for audience. Plays to Ss strengths!
S3: It helps you see where they are but also find the unique ways that you didn’t know about. https://t.co/rjHpHTdSKT
Q3: How does allowing students to show to “show what they know” with allow for ease of differentiation?
A3: idea of & idea is show what you know with various tools address all
Also, with a room full of students, the odds are good one of them is smarter or more creative than you.
A3 they are usually allowed a no tech, low tech, and high tech way. Sometimes tech impedes progress. https://t.co/glngqfGuNs
Q3: How does allowing students to show to “show what they know” with allow for ease of differentiation?
A2: Edtech can be a great vehicle to help students highlight their creations and innovations.
Many Schools of Educ do this!!!
A3: Ss are able to express their knowledge in various ways. No "one size fits all" approach.
A2 I am so tired of STEm and STEAM. Why not learning? And creativity is key to being innovative
A1 how else are we going to cure cancer? The solution is not in the box
A3 we give freedom by allowing students to pick their activity and tools
FQ3 if you had a choice between glitter and more glitter what inspires you to create?
A3 Gives Ss can find many ways to show learning in auth meaningfl way choose video, cartoons, anythg
I agree was and continues to be a game changer. Ss find more ways to share what they know all the time.
So expect the unexpected.
Our area employers are begging for creative thinkers and problem solvers
A3: with Google Classroom and the like Ss drive their own learning allowing Ts time to diff with meaning
Hey Dan. Hope you had a great summer.
I had a student who wrote his own boot program (so instead of Windows) it booted SpamOS. Just said SPAM over and over.
Welcome! Q3 How does allowing students to “show what they know” with allow for ease of differentiation?
I told my students today that I hope they fail and fail often. They be like: https://t.co/skINbMOBUE Just part of the journey.
Thankfully, I don't have to give grades in my library. We can just learn, explore, and converse.
Q1: without failure, there is no success. Let kids fail and tell them it's okay. Expose your own failures so they see it
been busy discovering virtual worlds and upgrading infrastructure. :)
A3- When Ss show was they know their learning becomes visible and Ts know their impact
A3: provides a natural scaffold for Ss, as well as choice and S led collaborations. Allows T to step back and facilitate
The ease of access is also AMAZING! It's so quick & yet so powerful!
Welcome! Q3: How does allowing students to “show what they know” with allow for ease of differentiation?
A2 - creativity and innovation is the backbone of ... perpetual state of repurposing everything ... including tech
I'm curious. I have my littles (2nd - 6th grade Ss) tear apart and rebuild computers. This year we'll wipe OS
First Attempt In Learning. Keep Trying
differentiation comes in all edtech shapes and edtech sizes
A3: Ed tech helps differentiation by giving Ss control over project &/or product. Ss pick level at which to perform learning.
Nice! This student did this about 6-7 years ago. I would let them try Linux!
If you don't have dreams, can you have goals?
A3 not only showing what they know but giving them a chance to explore where it could take them ... create opportunity
For example - our candidates are learning about robotics and coding
A2: I don't think enough STEAM programs give Ss the opportunity to iterate- becomes more here's the solution we have time for
Have you created Chromebooks out of older computers?
A3 I think so, the creative process requires each student to identify and fill the gaps in their understanding.
A3: I learned so much more about my Ss by seeing the things they created and shared.
A3: Give students opportunity to choose their medium to show what they know.
Q4 coming up in 1 minute…
That has to be embraced by Ts and not discouraged.
I was playing around with compiling ChromeOS awhile back. Check out Neverware
Yes! The kinesthetic learner. The auditory learner. The edtech learner!
a good tech integrator sees the direction the kid is going and helps them take it even further ... redefine possible
Good idea. I think we're going to start with Win 7 as this is the OS on school computers. Then explore Linus & Pi
LOVE! Which school?? I would love to see this as the norm.
A3: when Ss show what they know it alleviates boredom for all of them.
Q4: How do you balance incorporating and options for students to creatively “show what they know”?
ready to sign up at least 3 - need to tell the teachers I am doign it first :)
A4: Let them use either/both!
A3: I want Ss to show what they know w their choice of tool https://t.co/pfdgPBLcKy
Q3: How does allowing students to show to “show what they know” with allow for ease of differentiation?
A4: I think someone has already said it.. They are just tools. Let the students select the desired tools!
"create opportunity"! Putting it on a t-shirt.
The book, the movie, or something else?
A4: You have to provide student-choice in the avenue they take to show mastery of standards. Doesn't matter if it's tech or not
A3 In the elementary classroom is an amazing tool for Ss to show what they know, with added key of parent engagement!
A4: The concept and the learning is more important than the tool!
Amen!!!!! Bridgewater College! It can be difficult though for candidates to know about every tech tool
A4: I use a blend of old/new tools. Hands-on manipulatives in math paired with a document camera. Have Ss take pix & video!
A3: Book Creator, iMovie, Doceri, Chatterbox and Pic Collage are some apps my students prefer to show what they know.
, not neverwhere. My bad.
Nice! Thoughtful and timely addition to teacher training.
A4 varied options and Ss choice. They will choose something they feel successful at doing. Build on that.
Very true, but exposing them to the world of tech tools is a plus!
A4 I let the individual S drive the choice of how to show what they know, let them use what they are comfortable with
Q4.1 do we need to teach them/ enable them to experience both and edtech?
A4: Model by showing them how they relate or can work together. They can enhance each other if done right.
A4: I offer both as options to show what they know on the assignment.
A4 Can't contribute here but...Ooooooo...good question
Yes, Seesaw has been a powerhouse with K-6 More popular to use than QR Codes
A3: Engagement spikes when Ss can choose
I would love to test it too. I used to build Linux thin clients, but this now…
learning with is not about setting boundaries; it is about breaking them down
Tech is just the tool, allow students to share what they know using a medium that works for them https://t.co/IU3VZHSPvW
Q4: How do you balance incorporating and options for students to creatively “show what they know”?
This is so important for districts with limited tech to hear! https://t.co/ORs0annfrF
A4: The concept and the learning is more important than the tool!
Every time I turn around I hear about
On podcasts, twitter chats, presidential candidate commercials...
A4: allowing total student choice w/ constraints (e.g. must be accessible for non-readers, so a print poster w/QR code audio...)
that and collaborative learning so peers can fill gaps of one another. done so well w "Houston we have a problem"
A4 There are some skills I want all Ss to have, but most of time I leave it up to them,
A4: it's pretty easy when your is limited. 😜 I love giving choices for projects.
If we teach skills - logical thinking - not tools - programming - we would be better off
A4: There are many steps to a balance, but theres nothing wrong w/ challenging Ss to use a tool they wouldnt typically choose
A4 Student choice is important, but not to the point where you sacrifice the intended learning outcomes
Could be used by alot of schools, especially ones that get cheap/free refurbs.
A4 differentiation, give students choice in how they show what they know.
trying it this year! Can't wait
- You bet! It's about getting them started and realizing the power
A4: Why not ask them to show their knowledge both ways - or simulate a projector failure in the middle and see what happens
Have you tried ? I really don't think anything comes close to it's possibilities.
I totally agree - I think it's best to teach the skills through the tech :)
A4.1: We need to encourage experience in both. Don’t want Ss too much to one side and not getting exposure to the other side.
Q4: Absolutely. I want, we want, teams flush with practitioners whose talents flow through any bundle of resources
Compose the piece well and they'll never know they don't have choices.
Love this create failure to get them to problem https://t.co/b7987hBrXo
A4: Why not ask them to show their knowledge both ways - or simulate a projector failure in the middle and see what happens
Computational thinking works for me.
danieldowns: RT edtech_update: How You Can Support The New Kid In Your Class By teachthought https://t.co/Dlf1ZSMkka
A4: A culture of appreciation for nontech solutions and edtech solutions is critical to the balance of a classroom.
True, but if creativity and innovation are to be considered, we must leave some wiggle room. Such a fine line
A3: Each S can provide evidence in the medium and style with which they are most comfortable. Lots of options for extension.
This!!! https://t.co/ehrZBiokLw
A4: A culture of appreciation for nontech solutions and edtech solutions is critical to the balance of a classroom.
A4 Build the capacity of our students to use the correct tools when needed and not just default to
Immigration app by NYC DOE, Scratch JR, an avatar creator, + one more
Q5 coming up in 1 minute…
Exposure is the key! It's all about the journey
A4: Yes. Tech is not always the best solution. Ss to know how to pick the right tool for the job https://t.co/oRg0IpQVGN
Q4.1 do we need to teach them/ enable them to experience both and edtech?
Q5: How do you encourage students to try new and different and options outside their comfort zone?
I am not sure I like the term - makes it too much like an instruction sheet
Back to that engineering model. "and the grid goes down no power ..."
You need to 3D print big stencils so you can mark the last known location of Pikachu!
Loving all these "lowtech" ideas!
Quality vs quantity every time! https://t.co/jju2OphqG3
A4 Build the capacity of our students to use the correct tools when needed and not just default to
A4: Have some of each, allow for either on S work. Analog activities are part of the process in science! https://t.co/tJuslwRZ2d
Love! "Culture of appreciation" 👍🏼 description because particular skills come with vs https://t.co/bTinp0dCqO
A4: A culture of appreciation for nontech solutions and edtech solutions is critical to the balance of a classroom.
A4.1 both because the design process starts not tech and moves into tech
I think it's more about exposure & reshaping the learning experience so they don't teach like they were taught
and it's not coming back anytime soon - how do we keep going?
Hmm hadn't thought about it that way.
A5: Require Ss to try something new from list of choices. Have Ss who have used that 1 be the 'go to' if Ss have Qs. collaborate
A5 model by doing it yourself. Showcasing Ss mentors who are willing to try and fail.
A5: Try it with them! Lateral learning speaks volumes!
I get the term and its origin, but I think computational implies formulaic
A1) If they can show what's in their minds with analog tools, digital tools can enhance it all.
A5 time to play with ideas/ materials is so important for sts (and ts!) confidence!
Oh, Give them room to be creative and innovate. But when we're exploring space they shouldn't hit the ocean floor.
A5: Model the use of low and no tech solutions for Ss. These types of solutions can be less scary to try!
A5: Collaboration! Ss fine confidence in one another especially when you the fear of failure factor is gone!
Q5: By exposing them to new ideas, allow for creativity, and ensuring that they know it's okay to fail!
A5 we are partners in any challenge. Working together builds confidence
A5: after teach many methods to "show what they know" Ss get choices that eliminate ways they are most comfortable with
A4: I have confused many Ss by starting w tech instead of no tech
Well said. just did an interesting piece on S choice just scrolled up in twitter
A5: Sometime it requires just showing it to them. Others need a little direction. https://t.co/9qxX4HkZls
Q5: How do you encourage students to try new and different and options outside their comfort zone?
A5: Try new with them! Tell them "We're all going to learn this one." My experiences have shown that they enjoy that
Ah. I hadn't thought about it that way. Couldn't logical have same result?
A5: I allow time for exploration through short rotating centers. Not long but enough time to spark curiosity and intrigue.
A2) Creativity is the backbone of innovation in or . Prototype and fail often... Then learn and move on
A4: kids thrive when I enable. Have them explore then allow them to create. Channeling leads to less creativity.
A5 Assess the process and sts mindset as much as the product
a5: exposure to many tools, focus on the outcome, and keep asking "why did you choose that method? Is there another way?
A5 i offer many options and provide safe space to try anything with lots of support. https://t.co/dipg7AfHVn
Q5: How do you encourage students to try new and different and options outside their comfort zone?
To me logical implies a process, computational a formula - but that's me
A5: I say things like, "Have you met ?" Then I offer time and space for Ss to really try them out for course work.
Not a bad idea for PD for Ts either. Get those lagging behind started w/ something where they can succeed.
A5: ETA Exposure-Time-Access for students
So perfect https://t.co/KEnCP40OqA
A5 i offer many options and provide safe space to try anything with lots of support. https://t.co/dipg7AfHVn
Q5: How do you encourage students to try new and different and options outside their comfort zone?
Q5- Exposure and not setting to rigid of guidelines to allow for collaboration and exploration
A5: MODEL & provide challenge with CHOICE! Ss will take risks if you create the environment!
A3) When a student "shows what they know" the teacher should have an understanding of the S's current level and where to coach
A5 Sometimes i create w/ show, have othr Ss share exper,I learn w/ & from them
A5: by presenting them with new and different options that they may have not seen before.
this is all really life skills - we just don't think that way sometimes
A5b) I say, "Choose two body systems and build a physical model showing their interaction." https://t.co/V190jRPzrt
or am I just being obtuse?
A5 - Comfort zone? do kids really have a comfort zone? ... tossing out those tech ideas all the time ... what works sticks
I want to teach at your school.
Bowing out to take daughter to dance. Thanks for some great ideas!
I shy away from the word fail. Learning what you don't know is success. Taking a step forward is success.
Love these great answers - leading me to think I can create safe maker space for Ts to explore new tech tools
A5: When Ss can choose, and work is showcased, they might want to try something that a classmate used https://t.co/4jzsVer6W9
Q5: How do you encourage students to try new and different and options outside their comfort zone?
A5) Teachers can encourage students to be outside their comfort zone by modeling the same.
the kids only have a comfort zone if they see us in a comfort zone ... have to model that risk taking attitude
A5 Choices are a reflection of culture. Students that trust the process and understand failure isn't the end will take risks
A5- being careful to model but not too much that students think there is only one way
Great idea. Start with successes and build toward more complex tech solutions. https://t.co/pBX6eyMr2p
Not a bad idea for PD for Ts either. Get those lagging behind started w/ something where they can succeed.
A5: I think the learning/curiosity builds on itself w
Oh yes, they do. Not all of them are "digital natives" More of them are than we are, but not all.
Thanks. Suggesting a tool without the time and space to try it is like not suggesting a tool IMHO.
That's awesome. The less we scaffold it, the less the projects look alike & the more the Ss use creativity.
A5: Encourage students to share their rationale for choosing a particular medium with their peers. Build maker capacity.
