A1: For older students - book talks to encourage reading over the break. Also share community resources for students who struggle or go without. #txlchat
My winter reading challenge is kind of bingo-ish. I kick it off w/ a music video w/ staff reading. Kids get a chance to win books. All participants get coupons for the book fair at the end of Jan. #txlchat
This week has been taken over by #NinjasRead and #HourofCode every day! Festive decorations to come! There's this Ninja Picture with a festive background... #txlchat
A3: I know it's old, but that dancing elf postcard thing was hilarious! My sister also used a site where you could schedule a letter from Santa (older too). I'm doing #HourOfCode2017, so I'm open to suggestions on this one! #txlchat#OldieButGoodie
Don't know where this exactly fits in the chat tonight. But over the years, I have bought ornaments that relate to books. It provided the opportunity to answer.."Why do you have that one?" Me: "It reminded me of... and wouldn't you like to check it out?" #txlchat
Only one class didn’t get to code today because we had an Author Skype Visit, we will make up the coding either later in the week or next week! Everyone is going to code...tomorrow: Kinder Coders! #txlchat
Thanks everyone for joining in tonight during a very busy holiday season #txlchat Keep posting your holiday couture! And #follow these great #LibraryRockstars
A3: Years ago I read holiday books & used Doodle Buddy app w/kinder & 1st grdrs: https://t.co/MDhOdGqmmT. Kids loved designing their pictures & exploring the app. We came back to use it later in the year. #txlchat
I know this doesn’t fit into any Qs, but this is a good time of year to send unexpected thank-you emails to our reps or admins. Met a state rep last night and we visited a bit. I mentioned TexQuest and he was familiar. I made sure to say THANK YOU for a fab resource! #txlchat
Currently absolutely crazy about @tavaresbooks Red and Lulu! It will be our Holiday read this year, and probably for years to come! So many different convos to be had with this story and the Author's Note! #txlchat
I already shared @RubinPingk Samurai Santa which #CannadayEs readers absolutely love! This book never sleeps in the library no matter what month of the year or holiday we are celebrating! #txlchat
We don't say it often enough. WE are so thankful for all our participants. You make this chat the place to be on Tuesday nights and the chat's success wouldn't be there if it were not for you. Happy Holidays and come back next week. We're not finished with 2017 yet! #txlchat
Hmmmmm, how would you go about it? I like this idea! It would be fairly cheap for families to make. Going to write this down on my To-Do for next year! I love contests! Thanks for the idea! #txlchat
LOVE is out January 9th! Here's a little video @lorenlong and I did to introduce folks to the book. We hope you'll check it out and share! https://t.co/AkJ9HNjSF7
