A2: I adjust mid-lesson. For an interview I had to plan/present a standards-based reading lesson. The middle part was taking too much time- on part could easily be skipped- so I gave Ss that part of the lesson. Worked well! #2pencilchat
Always have a plan B and C just in case. Sometimes you think a lesson would be great while planning it, but when presented students may become disengaged or they won't grasp a concept as much as you expected. #2pencilchat#aedu209trolls

A2 What else is there to do? If it's gone wrong, then you might as well do anything else. Can't go wrong with doing something meaningful for someone! #2PencilChat
Q2: Do not give up on a lesson. Take a break and then go back and make changes to it. If you started a lesson then it probably had some good ideas behind it. Keep pushing through and do your best. #2PencilChat
A3 I liked to employ creation and choice as much as possible. The kids are more likely to dig in, and it requires less prep for me AND the sub!

The teacher I assist, always keeps it simple. She has a sub plan made up in advance, at the beginning of the school year and tweeks it when necessary. #2pencilchat#aedu209trolls
A3: If that plan does not work. I would either do discussions within groups to learn things from your peers or bookwork and extra practice problems to improve skills. #2PencilChat

A4: That is me with end of semester homework right now- I'm trying to find chunks of time where I can do a lot at once with no other things happening. (Keep thiking I need to be aware to limit my tweet- old habit!) #2pencilchat
A3 #2PencilChat I create a standard one at the beginning of the year so I can go back and add those particular skills for that day. Plus, I have a box of unused work they can pull from for extra stuff

A4) In cyber environ. many quizzes, quick checks are computer graded, unit assessment/short answers Ts grade, portfolios too, do a little each day #2PencilChat
SPED is different than General Ed but as a para I do have to assist with collecting data for students progress. So having an assistant always helps if possible, but I know that's not the case for many. #2pencilchat#aedu209trolls
Having kids put their work on Seesaw helped me a lot last year because everything was on a calendar. Buncee helped in a similar way because it was always easy to find my students' work without a pile!

A5: With K Ss, I loved doing ELA/Math stations that were differentiated to meet student needs. We rotated every 10 or so minutes. Included were tablet and computer staions with other stations. #2pencilchat

A5: Make it fun, be enthusiastic, show them you care. If you seem bored, uninterested, or disengaged so will the students. They feed off negative and positive energy. #2pencilchat#aedu209trolls
Entering the busy part of year. In the next 2 weeks I have:
exams to mark, daughters Art Show, alpaca shearing, Year 8 bush camp, reports, tickets to Aussie women's soccer game,and a movie premiere to attend

A5: Build relationships with your students and find out what they are interested in(hobbies) and integrate those into the lessons. Even if you mention the things they have told you and make analogies they will pay attention. #2PencilChat
A6: Make relationships with the parents. Keep them informed on what is going on in the classroom. Sometimes parents don't get involved because they don't know what is going on in the classroom or what the student is learning. Make them interested! #2PencilChat
I usually try to the "kill them with kindness": pay great attention to their needs which dwindle as I stay on top of them and mostly anticipate them before that email is sent! Crazy at first but sooo worth after a while. #2PencilChat
A6 Sometimes the tough parents have the tough students. Communication with the parent is key. Show you care about the student and the parent. Show them that you are in partnership with them not against them. #2pencilchat#aedu209trolls

Q3 had best sub plan=class syllabus 4 each student on which all tasks of period/day were detailed: @buncee@seesaw, some writing and formative math etc Sub only had to walk around 2 answer questions. Ss chose order of tasks. Sub left comment: I want to meet you! ๐ค#2PencilChat
