Too many people outside of education making the decisions.
If education change were easy we'd call it EDUCATION FUN.
Any change requires that Ppl have to give up some things they have come to believe or have always done for a long time. That's hard.

After 31 years of students w & weaknesses,I found brain-based learning to INCREASE retention.

I will play devil's advocate here. Teaching is a trade, not a profession. The AMA removes members who aren't qualified.

Ts need to make the changes that are best for their Ss. When possible, those need to happen within the external restrictions.
That's easy to say! However, the tests come from the books. How do we change that?

I would argue that teachers don't feel they CAN change because the regulations surrounding them are so strict
