It’s critical to have a strong social media presence to tell the story/culture of your school/district. It’s a terrific platform to showcase your values to prospective employees. #K12Talent#EdLeadership
A2: Doing: Increasing our Twitter handle usage during hiring season to advertise our positions and community, @CCSD46Careers. Not doing: Waiting for candidates to find us. #k12talent
A2: I want to make a stronger effort to use social media on more of a regular basis - I tend to feast and famine and want to be more consistent with #socialmedia#k12talent
A2: We started using Promo to advertise our administrative job openings on Twitter and Linkedin. Promo allows you to create a short video commercial that is like Powerpoint on steriods. It's cheap and effective. #k12Talent
A2. I’m a huge fan of Twitter and use @D112jobs to announce our vacancies, but also utilize our brand #112leads to show our awesome culture via pictures, videos, and posts that our staff create to attract and recruit candidates. #k12talent
Every day our students & teachers accomplish tremendous growth. If as leaders we are not telling their story then who will be the narrators of our district’s messages? What gets promoted gets replicated! If we want to revitalize cultures we need to share our stories. #K12Talent

A3: Doing: Our Director of Language Services is heading back to Spain to find bilingual staff. Not doing but should: Attend neighboring state job fairs, especially since we are so close. #K12Talent
A3: I am really hoping the 2019 Spring Teacher Career Fair Calendar just release from @_AASPA_ this week helps district be more strategic about #recruiting out of state #K12Talent
A3: spending less time at college recruiting fairs, but arranging personal visits and hosting events on campus on our own.
Also started hosting virtual video chat interviews and resume help with college education majors. #K12Talent
I’ve stayed away in recent yrs from recruiting out of state since obtaining the proper licensure for IL hasn’t been the easiest. I know that recently there’s been some loosening of those stipulations due to the teacher shortage, but I haven’t pursued this avenue yet.#k12talent
A3: We created the Maine TWP Schools Teacher Recruitment Consortium that is composed of 5 different school districts. From (https://t.co/B33tRp8G8i), teaching candidates across the country can record & submit a “video resume” that is sent to HR admins in all districts. #K12Talent
A4: We've allowed job sharing for a while now, but I know it helps keep good young female teachers in the profession. They can be at home half the day and work the other half. 2 teachers share one FT position. #k12Talent
A4. Our current CBA includes a sick bank & tuition reimbursement which we hadn’t had before. We adopted new curricular resources pre-K-8 for ELA & math. We
expanded our mentoring program to include not only building mentors for all nontenured teachers, but also a 1:1.#k12talent
A4: Do: Revamp your mentor/on-boarding program Don't: Feel bad about not giving them time to set up their classroom; Set a behavioral learning expectation right from the start #K12Talent
A5: Doing: Increasing support staff (PPS) thanks to increased state funding, examining our long range predictions and current student numbers. Not doing: Hoping to limit RIFs to a minimal number. #K12Talent
A2 - Going big on Instagram and LinkedIn. The organic reach on LinkedIn with content is like agacebook used to be. Also using Content Marketing to educate and help college education majors #K12Talent@_AASPA_
We have also partnered with two universities to host student teachers for an entire year instead of just a semester. They also complete our new Teacher Induction & mentoring program. #K12Talent

Wow - Super cool - I think lots of districts would be interested in learning how that is working - Maybe an article for @_AASPA_ "Perspective" Magazine #K12Talent
BAM! Thinking out of the box! Awesome idea! #K12Talent Universities would also welcome you to be a guest prof in a class to further teach/model/start relationship

A5. It’s the season for staffing! I launch the timeline w/admin tomorrow which runs through end of May & includes every aspect of the process. This week I send out the voluntary transfer form to staff & by 2/1 I find out who is returning for a LOA or requesting one.#k12talent
A6. I will now be using Promo thanks to @GregDietzD207HR! I may need to phone a friend if I can’t figure it out. I will also continue to Tweet #112leads since it’s grown immensely thanks to @mikelubelfeld launch & arrival this past July. #k12talent
A6- Remember, Branding is about the experiences and how people feel about your department or organization. When someone mentions your district... what comes to mind? #K12Talent
A6: We've committed to...if you are qualified for a position & take the time to complete an application you will be guaranteed a job (asynchronous video) interview. Wouldn't you be more willing to apply for a job if you knew you would be granted an interview? It works! #k12Talent
We send out reminders about retirements, relocations and resignations starting in November. Then remind employees about every 6-8 weeks after. #k12Talent
We had 4 teachers hired for the 2019-20 school year before winter break thanks to our employees notifying us early!
A7. My time management includes seeking life fit each day. I dedicate the 1st hour of the day to me. I start by working out every morning at 5:30 with my husband so there’s no excuse to not give myself some needed time for a mental break, laughter, & physical fitness. #k12talent
Making time for working out just like I would work commitments. Schedule it and make it happen. #k12Talent we must take care of ourselves if we are entrusted to care of others.
Q6: When you interview tons more applicants only one gets the job...but you now know about several others who would be perfect for other/future jobs. We just hired an AP who originally interviewed for a principal job in October. #PassiveRecruiting#K12Talent
A8. Doing a ton & it’s a work in progress! Getting rest, fluids, staying away from awfulizers, keeping positive people in my inner circle, journaling, reflecting on what I’m grateful for, exercising, reading positive posts, thinking positive thoughts, & eating well. #k12Talent
A9. It’s a new year and what better time to do something special! What do you want to be know for this year? This is what gets me going! We all have the ability to leave a postive impact in our organizations. Let’s do it! #k12talent
A9: I’m using the Calm app for direction in meditating, standard exercise apps that sync with the Apple Watch for monitoring my walks, and always on the lookout for new tech! #k12talent
