Glad you are both with tonight!
What a way to start the week! Focus on what you can do..." Happiness really is a state of mind. There is power in positive thinking.
A1 Connects perfectly. In a COL we want to grow strengths. Showing kids what they can do and watching them grow is a must.
A1 In a COL you will fail. Don't let failure stop you. It's 1 step on the journey & a learning opportunity https://t.co/RT7EAXqIp1
I've been looking forward to this for 2 weeks. Missed whip/ nae nae, can't miss this.

, Thank you for modeling a and joining tonight's w/a City Manager's perspective https://t.co/ErIy0E2lR2
Good evening everyone. I'm John Stanley, City Manager for the City of Au Gres
A1: A true culture of learning allows Ss (and Ts) to realize their full potential- not live up to a fixed set of expectations
A1: what an incredibly healthy attitude to take toward both teaching AND learning - keeping positive promotes growth
Q1: It takes a team to do all. It takes a village to raise one. Together we can. Even children teach us!
A1 I find that encouragement is one of the most needed parts of my day. So many Ss feel like they don't measure up. Expectations
I broke my legs for sure.
There are many new 'tweeters' in the house. Build your PLN, make connections, and follow a few new faces.
A1) try even if you fail, you tried.
A1: allows us to believe there is A LOT we CAN do, if we have the desire and effort.
A1-Part of being having a COL is recognizing that everyone can do something and no one can do everything. It's about being a team.
A1 having a positive perspective on life helps you manage the obstacles! Love his outlook
A1: Stick with your strengths as a teacher and allow you Ss to work within their strengths also! Don't focus so much on weaknesses!
Hello -- Dennis -- Middle School Principal from Long Island, NY.
A1 There is so much we can't do, but can learn to do or overcome. You need to have that learning culture in place to overcome
voice-activated at red lights only
Q1: When I stop & listen, let others take the lead in my weaknesses, they become confident and I learn. It builds community.
A1: Sam's message- we all have things we can't do- why waste time worrying abt that when we can celebrate what we do so well?
A1. Celebrating students' strengths also lets them know how much we want them to succeed not just at school but in life!
A1 Sometimes focusing on what you can = breaking a larger goal into smaller steps or finding innovative ideas
Welcome to - "Focus on what you can do..." - Sam Berns https://t.co/xn8S3qB0jK
Hello -- Dennis -- Middle School Principal from Long Island, NY.
A1 Perspective can determine outlook. Focusing on what we can do leaves us more positive that focusing on what we don't do.
Build community!
https://t.co/oId10R75O1
Q1: When I stop & listen, let others take the lead in my weaknesses, they become confident and I learn. It builds community.
Use strengths to improve weaknesses. Failure = learning opp. Know ur weakness so u can overcome it https://t.co/WmlrTu8U9M
A1. Focusing on student's strength helps to give them the confidence they need to take on any challenge.
Hi everyone 3rd grade teacher from Swartz Creek. Pretty excited, 1st time on
A1: Have the wisdom to trust and empower your entire team by knowing when to hand over the reigns and get out of the way.
Don't judge an elephant on how he climbs a tree...
Great perspective, thanks for sharing
not being able to do it all is such an important thing to model for young people - healthy balance!
Welcome to - "Focus on what you can do..." - Sam Berns https://t.co/bPBD8xSiNC
Hi everyone 3rd grade teacher from Swartz Creek. Pretty excited, 1st time on
A1 Nobody is perfect so work at your faults and what you can't do well while striving to take your strengths to a whole new level.
A1-Letting our Ss see that we aren't experts in everything is pretty powerful!
A1 In a COL we use our strengths to help us improve our weaknesses without fear of failure
Faith & Fear both have something in common. They ask us to believe in something we can't yet see
Faith>Fear https://t.co/ffC3gVL8yV
A1: Sam's message- we all have things we can't do- why waste time worrying abt that when we can celebrate what we do so well?
In a culture of learning it is ok & safe to admit you don't know something & ask for help
Lurking while writing tonight!
Many new PLN joining tonight! TY for learniing with us!
A1: Sam was able to problem solve his drum issue because he focused on what he COULD do!
or embrace your weakness as says: what makes us weak makes us unique!
Count your lurking for your hours. :)

Recognize & maximize your strengths w/o being afraid to step outside the comfort zone.
I had a ts that only gave + points. Write everything you know. It was very uplifting.
Here is a growth mindset for you. Take risks! Welcome!
Welcome to - "Focus on what you can do..." - Sam Berns https://t.co/tkT4I2QOEM
Counselor at Great Lakes Bay Early College, Saginaw MI
A1 A culture of learning begins when we focus on "I can" instead of "I can't"
A1) I would rather have you try an idea and fail then leave the idea on the table. Sam had a growth mindset for such a young man
So important when we come to challenges w/ Ss - we can't control Ps, but what CAN we do to help the S
already on top of that! 😜
Mistakes are great if the student's new understanding equates to a change in record in the gradebook ;)
Self-efficacy is KEY in a COL
https://t.co/9yyOBarYla
So important when we come to challenges w/ Ss - we can't control Ps, but what CAN we do to help the S
I strongly believe that "Every student can learn...just not at the same pace" Success is relative as it relates to our learners
A1: This is about accepting our weaknesses so we have time for our strengths to shine. A COL is a team, we need everyone's strength
Hello! I'm . I missed all of you last week! Glad we're back on...loved Sam's talk...excited to learn and share!
