A1: On OL, I look at communication first. Are they communicating to each other, and what is the QB communicating to the OL. Once I diagnose where the miscommunication is occurring, it helps get things going in the right direction #TXHSFBCHAT
A1: I look at myself as the coordinator and I look to see what we can cut out. 9 times out of 10 it’s our fault as coaches trying to get too cute that’s the cause of the confusion. Less is more. We make a simple game complicated.
#TXHSFBCHAT
A1: it might mean that the players are on overload. Sometimes it helps to simplify + get back to the basics. Basic inside zone in spread or buck sweep and trap in the wing-t for example and simplify the pass game.

Good point! We see something in a highlight or on twitter and think we can fit it in, when all it does is overload the players and the plan #TXHSFBCHAT
This could mean a couple of things, including lack of confidence in coaches. In many cases the players are starting to lose confidence in themselves. Getting back to the basics, staying positive, &celebrating small victories in practice help to build that confidence

A2: Kids that are not buying in sometimes don't see what is in it for them in the long run. That it why it is improtant to get them to see how everything is benefiting them in some shape or fashion and they are showing growth. #txhsfbchat
Yes sir! Sometimes coaches feel like they are playing chess with the guy on the other side and forget that there are kids inbetween those side lines #txhsfbchat
Agree! The long run benefits are hard to show, so we have to help them see the immediate benefits as well. Celebrate success, have special team events to build togetherness. Things that help kids see the value now #TXHSFBCHAT
Every kid and situation is differnt! Biggest thing is trying to figure out what is going on and why a kid is acting a certain way. IT is difficult and might take time but if they are being a cancer got to cut it out A3 #txhsfbchat
A3: Depending on how the player's performance is effecting team performance, 1) Fix the player's mistakes or 2) replace him with a kid who is...personnel is personal...sometimes it hurts the player and the coach to have to make a move, but the team is priority 1 #TXHSFBCHAT
A4: Big fan of self-scout here. Look at what your team does best and what they just don't do well. Stop running what they just don't perform well and focus on what they do. #TXHSFBCHAT
Q5: In season, we don't have a lot of time to make sweeping overhauls, so how can we take advantage of time when needing to fix part of our team? #TXHSFBCHAT
A5: If something is wrong enough to derail what you are trying to accomplish, time does not matter. You make time to fix the problem and adjust the rest of the schedule. #TXHSFBCHAT
Thank you @Sky_Coach for sponsoring #TXHSFBCHAT. Coaches everywhere can benefit from sideline replay, whether its game use or practice, or one of their many other services, Sky Coach is here to help you!
I think there are things you can do in practice as well. We do weekly OL skits. I've heard of people flipping the positions and running plays. I like OL Olympics as well: see how they catch the route tree, catch punts, etc #TXHSFBCHAT
Next week we have a treat with @angusreid64 hosting! He has a great new book that I've started reading this week, Thank You Coach needs to be in your reading list! See you next week! #TXHSFBCHAThttps://t.co/bNUMbUCGxR
