    A1: When we designed our literature, we wanted to showcase an equal gender balance, a diversity of different talents, backgrounds, and interests so that our books were relatable to all children #PeekaChat

    This is so incredibly important. We are finally seeing a shift in diversity with toys and movies. So thankful that literature is right behind and ready to take a forefront. Our Ss need to know that they are important and represented. <3 #PeekaChat

    Thank you!! This is a wonderful book about a Deaf dinosaur child who runs away from home because her parents won't let her learn ASL. It's a very common experience for Deaf kids, the author is Deaf and drew on her own life to write it. https://t.co/JEeCAFYiqQ #peekachat

    A2. My two favorite books to teach empathy and that our words and actions can impact others are Wonder and Chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes. Message is worth repeating year after year with my Ss,as I start each school year with this read aloud and the crumpled heart story #peekachat

    We did an old 60 minutes segment where they followed the Sudanese Lost Boys as they came to the United States. My Ss were so shocked at how hard it was for them to assimilate to the culture here. #peekachat

    YES!! This is one of the major things I teach in my global studies class is that we are much more alike than we are different. Let's celebrate our differences, but also embrace the things that we have in common. #PeekaChat
